How does the game fit the theme?
The Narrator who appears at the beginning of the game is meant to help the player is actually tricking them, hoping they don't finish the game.
The devs have made secret rooms that reveal the truth about the puzzles. However, can those even be trusted?
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?

I think this game felt more like a tech demo than a fully fleshed out game. The puzzles were really straight forward and the audio/visuals were pretty barebones (although I like the .
In terms of the theme, I didn't really feel like anything was trying to trick you or that you couldn't trust what you were being told. I don't think that the secret rooms telling you how to complete the puzzles were necessary either, and I think it detracts from the theme and the game overall.
Overall, I think the game could be fleshed out a lot more and have a lot clearer direction, but I enjoyed the voice acting and the physics that were implemented into the game. I think that the physics (with the box and the other objects you can pick up) would allow for some really interesting puzzles if it were more fleshed out. If you guys continue to work on this, I think games like Portal and Half Life would be good inspiration for making physics based first-person puzzles.
Apart from that, good work, and good luck with your guys' future projects! Shoutout Bert
Thank you,
I appreciate the feedback and will make sure this gets passed along to the team, so that if we pick it up again in future we know what we could focus on :).
Voice Acting was cool and unexpected. Nice work, Stanley :D (Trust No One, except for signs - they always help. Unlike signs in our game)
Thank you, I will have to play your game to see what these more evil signs do.
I will also let our artist know you appreciated their voicing acting lol.
We were thinking to do voice acting as well - but lacked time and I think our accent would make you cry :D
Though, it is not that bad
Very interesting! I love Bert! Bert's my GOAT! The music and the SFX are simple but its serves its purpose well! I like the voice acting and I also love the vibe of the environment! The gameplay's okay, it has simple puzzles and mechanics but I do wish the game leans more into the meta part of the game. Maybe something surprising like a horror aspect, or maybe when I replay the game again, the narrator says something different. Maybe something that has to do with the game being unfinished, just a couple of things to explore (though its completely understandable if its not implemented due to time constraints). I love the little detail with the interaction like the cursor, the objects spinning around when I'm grabbing it which I thought was kinda fun. Overall, this game was cool but needed a bit more depth in narrative itself to sell the whole thing more. Great work guys!
Thank you, we didn't think to have the narrator say anything different upon replaying the game. I think the idea mostly slipped by us, along with the time constraints of balancing the jam and other day to day activities.
I will ensure these suggestions get passed along to the team.
Cute game! Clearly inspired by Stanley Parable, but my buddy and I enjoyed it. I don't think I've ever played an indie game with voice acting, so huge points for that! Just fyi, the main menu aspect ratio is off so that wasn't full screen for us. There were some audio lines that overlapped or got cut off, but whatever. We had a blast with it. Just wish there had been a 20ft meat grinder at the end.
Thank you, I’m glad that you and your friend had fun! I will make sure to pass along your feedback (especially the meat grinder part lol).
Loved the Don’t play this game / Stanley parable / The Corridor vibes. You did put your own spin on it and it was a fun little game
Was a simple but effective art style (Looked at that tree for minutes!) and I liked the dialogue.
There was one time when the it repeated a puzzle line, I can’t remember where sorry and couldn’t recreate it.
I think having the secret thing be that colour once then making it less obvious but still stand out a bit. Otherwise once you get it, you can easily get it for the other puzzles.
Good work!
Thank you, I will do a pass over of the game again and hopefully we can find what line is repeating (should be an easy fix). Also I never thought of making the hidden rooms more subtle after the first one, it could've made finding them feel more rewarding. But that would need testing to verify that, still I will keep this in mind if we ever decided to continue working on this project and expand upon it.
Nice! I enjoyed the game! I love puzzle games. Are all the models your? Also: could you review my game? Thanks!
Yes, our artist made all of our models (they especially love Bert).
nice
Sadly I cant play the game because i don't have a mouse but looks cool
Mild spoiler warning
I like the twist on stanley parable - it's not that you can not follow the narrator direction, it's that you shouldn't. The moment where I found the secret door and saw the message was really cool
I do think there are some technical drawbacks:
Still, the narattor audio quality was very good, and I liked the model of the tree. Nice job!
We are looking into fixing these, we are glad to hear that you like the Narrator and Bert.
