How does the game fit the theme?
Basically you are trapped in a supposedly a death game, in which only 2 people can survive with all that is involved does not know what the card is missing and who holds it, forcing you to question on who holds the missing card, their every move and lastly on who is deceiving you.
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
I made all the visual arts handmade and most of the codes some of the codes used in the game like the card logics are reused from my old school projects, and the music I got from itch and open game art for free.
How many people worked on the game?1

I wish I could properly play, but It looks amazing!!!!! (I can't play downloadable games for some reason)
Very cool cool. should made it play in browser -able. load of people lazy to download XD
will do that next time, thankyou, this is my first time joining a gamejam so I did not take that incosidertation when uploading it. Thankyou for your recommendation
The game could have been really interesting. I like the concept but it felt like everything was progressing at a blistering pace so I couldn't really tell what was going on and it was also kinda just luck it felt like.
I think jumping back and forth between picking a card being a separate screen with the moving mouth and the table view was very jarring as well.
Overall the artwork was good but I didn't feel like I couldn't trust anyone and was really just choosing cards at random. It felt like the statements from the puppeteer didn't really mean anything and I also lost anyway and didn't really understand the ending I guess.
Will take that suggestion in my next projects, was my fault really WHAHHA did all random stuff in my game. instead of incorporating the topic much deeper. maybe an AI overall improvement can do it better. like bluffing and shuffling the cards when the player is going to pick the cards. and such. thankyouu for your time playing my game
Yeah I do think a little bit of tweaking and you might have it. If there were more parts of the face and they had like specific tells that could be really fun, great job again!
I really like your artwork and the sounds immerse you. I thought the gameplay was a tad bit fast, I couldn't fully process some of the transitions.
thankyouu for your comment about my artwork WHAHA, it was generous of you, it is my first time doing pixel art and I think I did a horrible job at it. Gameplay was fast because I have not optimized my AI's very well they are just simple ai, with dialogues WHAHAH i made a dialogue logic complete but forgot to improve the AI to do more not just hold cards in the hand. Thankyou for giving my game a go
My honest review:
Seems like a twist on the card game, Old Maid. It's a tough memory game. I can't keep track of which cards have been discarded, for example. Would have been better to let the player see discarded cards arranged on the table. Much of the appeal of playing something like this would be buffing and examining player's reactions, which you can't really do here. Also, using unfamiliar tarot cards, instead of regular playing cards, makes it harder still. May be different playing in rl, but against a computer, luck plays too much of a part of it, rather than deception, in my opinion.
The graphics are passable. You were going for a creepy vibe and that did work. The music sets the right tone.
Kinda lost track of time really doing all sort of quality of life, honestly I spend the most time in developing the art since its my first time doing any visual art + good dialogue system + the cards logic WHHAHAH and forgot the AI.. so it doesnt clearly shows the trust no one part WHAHAH, I remember as kids playing the old maid game deceiving my sibling and cousins to pick the wrong cards and such, Ithought it was a nice game to recreate. I guess I forgot that the people / ai will show the deceiving part much more if it is further improve. Thankyou for giving my game a go.
Is it possible you could make a browser version as well? It's within 48 hours after the end as for fixing bugs and adding alternative platform support, and it would help you out a ton.
yess just updated it now WHAHHA, sorry got a busy schedule this week so I did not do it right away, and I forgot we have a 48hr duration to do bug fixes, thankyou so much, you save me alot. I think most people dont wwant to download games so a browser game could give alot convenience for them
made me think of Balatro, but in a good way
thankyouu for playing my game, hope to see you enjoy it at some point
Very nice storytelling pace, i liked the unsettling and creepy feel of the game! Hope to see more in the future :)
thankyou for playing my game, hope to see you comeback to see my future projects, I will try to improve to be better than yesterday
