How does the game fit the theme?
In "Poker Mafia", paranoia is the core mechanic. Traditional poker is about reading tells, but in this backroom game, nobody plays fair and trusting anyone gets you killed:
You Can't Trust The Players:
Every mobster at the table has an agenda. They aren't just betting chips, they are actively monitoring your hands and palming cards from their sleeves when you look away.
You Can't Trust The Deck:
The deck has been secretly tampered with. It contains suspicious wildcards (Black Jokers) that morph into winning hands and cursed "Hot Potato" dead cards (Red Jokers) that ruin your rank.
You Can't Trust Honesty:
Playing by the book is a death sentence. To stay ahead of the $50 Ante, you MUST cheat by swapping cards from your sleeve. But if anyone's eye gaze catches you mid-swap, the Boss puts a bullet in your head on the spot.
You Can't Trust The Room:
When the power cuts out during the Blackout Event, all bets are off as everyone scrambles in the pitch dark to steal from the deck.
Survival isn't about having the best hand, it's about knowing who is watching, who is cheating, and trusting absolutely no one.
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
3D Models & Environment:
Royalty-free revolver models, accessories.
2D Art:
(The awesome looking) Standard 52-card playing card texture deck.
Audio & Music:
Royalty-free ambient noir jazz background music.
Fonts:
JQKAs Wild SDF.

Love the vibe of this game
Maybe the game should’ve been called 'Poker & Execution' :) I liked it. I feel like the visuals could use some polish, and it would be great to explain the rules of poker to players who have no idea how to play (and why everyone is carrying weapons in it)
was a super fun game! I was more focused on eliminating the other players than my cards lol
I would love it, if you'd flushed it out as a full realese with multiplayer, to outcheat my friends
lost my kids college fund
5/5 experience
🙏
Very nice concept. I enjoyed it.
I love the cheating mechanics in this Texas Hold'em game!
The visual and audio quality of the game is soooo good and it is literally thrust no one. I'm not a very good poker player but I still had a blast with this game. I was so confused at first when I got executed but then I understood why lol. Also the card sounds and atmosphere and even the other players are really good. Amazing for a solo dev. Great job!
Thank you so much :D
Really cool concept and probably one of the most fitting interpretations of "Trust No One" I’ve played so far. The whole idea of cheating under the table while trying not to get caught creates a surprisingly tense feeling, and the atmosphere, visuals and audio are really well done, especially for a solo jam game.
My main issue was clarity at the beginning. It took me a bit to understand when the other players were watching, what was happening during the blackout, and how some of the cheating mechanics worked. A short in-game tutorial or a few clearer visual cues would help a lot.
Once I understood what was going on though, the gameplay loop became really fun. Great job!
hahaha really liked that there was a card to use under the table such a funny mechanic. The game itself is not really unique as it is just a poker game but it had its own fun aspects. Liked that I missclicked something and just got shot by "red" saying I false accused him. Such a nice job on the game, well done!
Yea the collision box for the enemies are quite large for the players own sake actually, So you wouldn’t get frustrated if you missed them a tiny bit. Thanks!
Really really quality game, the cheating mechanics felt great!
Thanks you so much!
I love poker so this was fantastic all 4s and 5s for me. Also awesome for a game like this in a game jam to have a difficulty modes.
Glad you liked it!
Really nice first person card game.
Liked it!
This is the first time I’ve seen GIFs integrated into an itch.io page so well!
Now, about the game ^^ At first, I didn’t understand why the lights went out. Luckily, I noticed the cards being passed under the table pretty quickly. I definitely didn’t expect that clicking on the characters could get me shot. I just wanted to see their reactions 😂
All in all: I’m really glad I played it. I realized just how little I know about playing cards, and I had to use the guide a couple of times 😅
Haha, i hope it wasn’t too much of a hassle!
To be fair I'm very rusty at poker so it's mostly a skill issue, but it felt a little unorganized and hard to fully understand. I did go over the explanations on the page briefly, but it would be a lot better to have the concepts explained in game.
The ambience is a big positive here, really liked the whole vibe.
Overall pretty good, just needs some more clarity.
You’re 100% correct. in a full out game (with more time on my hands) i would have done an easy to understand tutorial, both on how to play poker, but also how new mechanics change the dynamics of the game.
Really cool concpet of cheating but it's so hard to udnerstand anything. I'm not sure if the yare watching me or if they cheat. It just happens random at this point. I really loved the idea but gameplay needs improvement.
swapping the card from under the table while trying not to get caught watching is such a good nervy feeling. sfx and visuals both land well for a one week solo build. genuinely great
INSANE. Amazing graphics and the game feel is out of this world, well done! Even more impressive the fact you did it all by yourself!
Thanks so much, nothing compares to yours!
A WebGl version is now Available!
Wow the game felt VERY good. I loved the visuals and audio too, but unfortunately I'm not good at poker lol. Overall great game!
You’re not suppose to be! Cheat away hahah. Thanks!
