How does the game fit the theme?
Mimicry fits the theme by playing into the idea of every person having the possibility of being a mimic/otherworldly being, meaning no one can be trusted.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
All of the code and assets were entirely made by me and my friend FullMetalBrit, we both worked on the code, and the art was made by me whilst the audio was made by FullMetalBrit.

How many people worked on the game?

I have a lot of fun! It feels so good to spot and blast them in a row. The music and art are also really good. My only problem is that my shot just went through the guy I want to shoot, but it no big deal at all.

That was fun! Short and sweet. Some people already mentioned bugs so I won't repeat them. Art style is very cute. Definition has room for more interesting mechanics and tension but not a bad game at all :)

Please consider checking out my team's game as well!

I really enjoyed it! I love the art style. It took me a few rounds to get the hang of spotting the impostor, though! Really great game!

was fun!!

Keep up the good work!

Good use of the theme! Creates a good sense of paranoia in the player - "aw man, I wasn't focusing on that part of the screen but *someone* just twitched... but who?"

Developer

Haha glad you enjoyed it!

simple, but effective

Big fan of the silly guys with their silly hats and silly singular hair strand

Developer

The singular hair strand is the most important part

A simple but really enjoyable game! I think this game found a fun mechanic and it would have been cool to see it expanded upon.

the concept is nice, iot's a good take on the concept

I was able to spot the impostors tho sometimes sometimes the characters would visually overlap which is fine in itself, I see it as a layer of difficulty, but it also seemed to create an issue where if the characters were very close to each other (one character stood above the other) sometimes the game would shoot the wrong character.

Developer

Thanks! We wanted to address this issue and as well as many others but sadly had to cut the game jam short, I appreciate the criticism though!

Had trouble spotting the ‘tells’, I think the game could use some more ways to distinguish them. Come see my Mimic game as well :)

Developer

The original plan was to have multiple 'tells' for the mimics, but sicne we cut the game jam short by 2 days for our submission we didnt have the time sadly. Your mimic game looks really interesting but I couldnt get it run for me :( From what I can see it reminds me a bit of a game called PROJECT: P.I.T.T, really cool!

Nice game! Playing through it was a bit difficult because I shot the wrong guy everytime lol, but I had a lot of fun with it! :D

I like this. I think it's very well made, and the idea is interesting. My only issue with this game is that the only way to tell if a guy is a mimic is if they jitter a bit. Would have been better if there were a few other ways to tell. Overall though this game was great!

Developer

Really appreciate it! I thought your take on the them was really interesting too, having it all linked through networks was such an interesting take.

I think I got to the end but the screen was just black? Interesting concept :)

Developer

Yeah sadly that was one of a few bugs we never got around to fixing :( Hope you still enjoyed it though! And your concept was sick, didnt expect to see movement like that with a theme like trust no one haha, really cool!
