Searching through a massive crowd of NPCs to spot the one traitor hidden among the group is such a tense and compelling application of the "Trust No One" theme! That high-stakes reveal moment when you finally take a shot and wait to see if you picked the right suspect creates a great dramatic payoff.
Since you're planning that post-jam update, a few deduction mechanics, pathfinding, and UI polish ideas could really take this to the next level:
- NPC Interaction & Proximity Clues: Adding those proximity audio cues and simple NPC dialogue hints (like "they're nearby" or "they're near the center") will give players a fun, active way to narrow down the crowd instead of just watching animation loops.
- NavMesh & Movement Behaviors: Tweaking the NavMesh random point generation so NPCs avoid walking straight into walls will make the crowd movement feel way more natural and alive.
- Options Menu Fix & UI Polish: Make sure that options menu back-button fix carries over smoothly to the WebGL build, and maybe add a simple back button or ESC hotkey toggle for menu screens.
Awesome crowds concept, tense shoot-or-spare mechanic, and great core idea! If you get a free minute on your day off, I'd really appreciate your feedback and rating on my solo jam entry as well: /jam/brackeys-16/rate/4953523
I couldnt find the traitor, but i really like the very simple concept, and the execution is great!
Thank you <3
I enjoy the concept of searching for one traitor among a group of many people. Unfortunately for myself I wasn't able to find the traitor. I do like the style here, the suspense of the reveal when you shoot who you suspect is the traitor.
Hey thanks for the lovely comment :)
More mechanics to find and identify the traitor will come in the next update!
I wasn't able to find the killer. I find the space to be a little bit too big it's kind of hard to go looking for one killer out of the many people in a big space. But overall very interesting game. Well done!
Thanks for the feedback!
I don't think that the size of the map is the problem. I will add mechanisms to get more informations about the traitor. The traitor will make some small noises and you will be able to interact with NPCs, who could then give you some clues, such as, "He is far away" or "He is close by".
Well done, completing a game. I will say it takes a bit too long standing and watching the same animation loop to track down the traitor.
Thank you :)
You're right. I mainly focus on a large group of NPCs. I will add an interactable system to trigger animations in the upcoming update!
I shot so many innocent people in the face
Your comment actually made me laugh xD
Cool idea. I think the AI walking could be more polished because they just talk to walls. I Identified the killer because we waved his left hand with 2 min and 30 left on the clock. Nice game!
Thanks :)
I want to redesign the NPCs behaviour. They currently using the NavMesh Agent and randomly selecting a point on the NavMesh. Advanced behaviour will come :)
Nice. Could you rate my game too?
Yes, I will do it tomorrow :) (monday) That is one of my free days^^
Cool idea. Visually beautiful, it would be cool to see other characters instead of mannequins. Good luck :)
Thank you :) I tried adding other characters but the animations where messed up - so I keeped the this mannequin model :)
If you used Unity, learn how Humanoid works. Then you'll be able to easily tweak any face to suit any animation. Other engines often have similar systems.
I played multiple times and never found the traitor. It's very hard to find it with the current mechanics
Thanks for the feedback. I will make it easier with the next Update :)
when I go into options, I cant leave
You're right, thanks for the feedback!
I already fixed the bug and will update the game tomorrow!
I recommend playing the downloadable version.
