How does the game fit the theme?
You can’t trust your own past. Each round, your previous actions return as shadows that can turn against you.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
I made the main arena, gameplay code, and core systems myself during the jam. I used third-party water shaders and a few VFX assets.

How many people worked on the game?

I've survived it in one go.D. I really loved the simplicity of your games tutorial (some other games had a lot of text), also liked the style/graphics of the game. Although was a lil confused what should i be doing with my bullets (maybe surviving, or maybe hitting the portal? i've tried all tho and did good)

I like the concept and skill to bounce the ammunition to the wall. I feel very clever. I had some framerate issues when playing in full screen. But still managed to play a couple of levels. Well done

Developer

Thank you so much! I’m really glad you enjoyed the bounce mechanic and got that “I feel clever” moment haha. Sorry about the framerate issues in fullscreen, I’ll definitely look into that. Really appreciate you playing and giving the feedback!

A fun concept, it's enjoyable and satisfying to play.

Developer

thankyou soo much for trying out and for such kind words :))

Submitted

Cool idea, but I was a little bit confused tbh lol

Developer

Thank you so much! Haha, I can understand the confusion. The main mechanic is actually about bouncing your shots off the walls — shooting the target directly won’t defeat it. The instructions explain it, but I probably could’ve made it clearer in-game. If you get a chance, I’d really love for you to try it again with that in mind and rate it!

Submitted

Nice idea but i find it hard to know how many times you need to hit the target

Developer

Thank you so much! I think you might’ve been attacking the target directly. The game is actually built around bouncing the shots off the walls, as mentioned in the instructions. If you get a chance, I’d really love for you to try it again with that in mind and rate it. It would mean a lot!

I like the visuals of the arena and particle effects. The concept is good. Especially how you need to bounce it once! I would suggest adding some sound effects and a model for the player character.

Developer

Thank you so much! I’m really glad you liked the arena, particles, and especially the bounce mechanic. And yeah, I definitely wanted to add sound effects and a proper player model, but ran out of time during the jam. Really appreciate the feedback and thanks for playing!

Well done for one person. I appreciate the clear instructions and how focused an experience it was. I liked that you could utilize both bouncing and pushing the target to get things lined up!
My one critique would be that when you push the target on the bottom wall you could often lose sight of it. Might have been a good idea to make that wall shorter or have there be some kind of transparent or invisible collision there.

Developer

Thank you so much! I’m really glad you liked the instructions and the bouncing + pushing mechanics. And yeah, I completely agree about the bottom wall — losing sight of the target there can be frustrating. Definitely something I’d improve if I continue working on it. Thanks for the detailed feedback and for playing!

This is a very cool concept! And its not too difficult once you get the hang of it. Good job!

Thank you so much! I’m really glad you enjoyed the concept and found it fun once you got the hang of it. Thanks for playing and for the kind words!

I like the idea! A timer would have made it more tense and fun, because I can just evade and wait for the shadows to disappear before taking the next action. Overall, good job!

Developer

Thank you so much! I agree, a timer would definitely make the gameplay more tense and prevent just waiting around. Really appreciate the feedback and thanks for playing!

I liked the idea.  I would have liked to be able to choose the number of rounds.

Developer

Thank you so much! I really like that idea too. Being able to choose the number of rounds would definitely make the game more replayable. Thanks for the feedback and for playing!

very fun i liked the puzzle aspect of using the shadows while also being out of their way

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! I’m really glad you enjoyed the puzzle aspect and using the shadows to your advantage. Thanks for playing!

You and I had similar ideas! I liked this spin on the "fighting your past actions", but the bounce physics never seemed to behave how I expected them to, and the lack of audio REALLY hurts my enjoyment. But what's here is good!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! Yeah, I agree the bounce physics could’ve been better, and I really wanted to add audio but ran out of time. Glad you still enjoyed the game!

I played though this game once and didn't really understand why I couldn't attack the enemies, and then I went back and realized I didn't read the tutorial closely enough. whoops. Once I understood that I had to bounce off the walls, I was able to pass it in one try. Really cool concept and I think you executed on the idea really well. I think there's a lot you could do to build on this idea, like add different arenas or enemies that have different destruction conditions. Also a little audio would be nice. Really awesome game!

Developer

Thank you so much for the detailed feedback! I’m really glad you gave it another try and figured out the bounce mechanic. I really like your ideas about different arenas and enemies with different conditions — I had more ideas planned but ran out of time during the jam. And yeah, audio was definitely on my list too. Really appreciate you playing and for the kind words!

Nice concept. I confess I played without reading the description, so I was a little confused, but it made sense after I  read it and tried again. It may be worth considering that many players (like me) are too lazy or impatient for descriptions hah.

The look is great, and the slow-moving bullets give a real nice vibe to the combat. Great job.

Developer

Thank you so much! Haha, I totally get that — I probably should’ve made the mechanic clearer in-game instead of relying so much on the description. I’m really glad you gave it another try and that it clicked! And thank you for the kind words about the visuals and bullets, really appreciate you playing!

Feel free to rate my entry :P i just need a few more <3

Both of our games tackle the same "vs you" mechanic in a different way hahaha, yours rock! The concept is so cool, unique and chaotic, I loved it! Very fun game and very well executed. It's impressive you managed to do all this with only 1 developer, good job :}

Developer(+1)

Hahaha yeah, I noticed that too! It’s really cool that we ended up with a similar “vs you” idea but approached it differently. Thank you so much for the kind words, and I’m really glad you enjoyed the chaotic gameplay! Really appreciate you taking the time to play and leave such a nice comment!

Loved this concept and execution! The movement and shooting felt satisfying. It was fun to create my own bullet hell by round 4 or 5 lol. The main feedback I would give is to add audio! I did not hear any SFX or background music, and I think those things would've been awesome. The game wasn't buggy, and the game loop was smooth. Nice work!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! I’m really glad you enjoyed the concept and shooting, especially the bullet hell you created by round 4 or 5 haha. I definitely agree about the audio — I had SFX and music planned, but unfortunately ran out of time during the jam. Really appreciate the detailed feedback and for playing!
