How does the game fit the theme?
The game centers around the theme by making audio your biggest enemy—you literally cannot trust what you hear. Players rely on a signal detector to navigate, but mimics and false echoes actively deceive them, forcing players to second-guess every sound cue and trust no one (and nothing) in the dark.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
Some ambient and UI sound effects sourced from royalty-free libraries (e.g., Freesound).

Really solid horror experience. The atmosphere is thick and immersive — the mix of wandering the dark woods, the sanity system, and how the audio ties into your mental state actually makes every sound feel threatening again. Clever take on the theme and the whole thing feels polished. Only small note is the film grain can feel a bit heavy at times, but it doesn’t take away from how effective the tension is. Great work.

Developer

Really appreciate the thoughtful feedback! Glad you enjoyed the atmosphere and tension. We'll for sure tune down the film grain a bit in the next tweak. Means a lot to the team!

This game was really well made. The amount of detail in the atmosphere is pretty impressive, with the visuals and audio making the game pretty immersive. The usage of the theme was very unique and added onto the horror aspects of the game in a clever way. I think some of the stuff described in the itch page should have been more clearly showcased in the game itself, but overall this game was fire.

Developer

So glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for pointing that out—we'll update our Itch.io page to showcase and explain those mechanics much better for everyone. Means a lot to the team!

What I'll compliment is the design of the game's mechanics. I like that it's a mixture of the gameplay of having to wander aimlessly in a forest collecting items as well as including a sanity system that lowers when in the dark. It's a perfect blend that recreates the terror of being near the dark again with the added bonus of not being able to trust your surroundings. The audio mechanic is really neat. I think it fixes the problem where players have gotten used to assuming that horror sfx are only there to scare them thus easy to write off. The solution of making audio being real by chance dependent on the players mental health makes sound scary again. Well done

They have a really nice atmosphere; you can tell they pay attention to detail. Maybe they should turn the noise of grain down a bit, it's a little intrusive. But it's a really good game, congratulations :D

Developer

Thank you for playing! Really happy you liked the atmosphere and details. Thanks for the note on the film grain, we'll definitely tweak that!

This game is so good! Wandering alone through the woods at night while tracking danger with that tracking device is genuinely terrifying. Such a great atmosphere. Very good job!
