Description
A soundtrack for a quick action-adventure game where you find yourself lost in Fantasy, and must find your way back to Reality before the Fantasy transforms you.
===
PROLOGUE = Where am I?: You go hiking one day in a dense woodland, but you lost your way. You try to retrace your steps, but somehow, your trail has disappeared. The sky is wrong and the wind blows strangely. How did you get here?

STAGE1 = Lost in Fantasy: You find yourself in an unfamiliar place. Not quite sure how to get back home, you explore the world. It seems peaceful... for now

STAGE2 = Harpy Town: You discover a hidden village populated with mesmerizing harpies who welcome you with open arms. Something doesn't feel right but you let your worries go for just a little moment

STAGE3 = Mesmerism: People who fall into fantasy stay in Fantasy. You discover an old log detailing another wanderer from Reality, and learn that they transformed into one of THEM for overstaying their welcome.

STAGE-FIN = Outrunning Fate: You leave the town, but not unnoticed. You only have mere minutes to get away before you lose yourself in Fantasy.

ENDING = Back to Reality: Upon retuning home, you slump on your chair, tired from your misadventure. You managed to escape without harm to your mind and body, and so you deserve a break from it all. Or did you...?

These are very charming songs; your mixing of synth and accoustic is great.
I'm in love with Stage 1 is so cute and cool.
Hey StageFin is such a banger, awesome!

Quick thought: The marimba on the Tittle theme gives clock vibe. Is that part of the "you must find a way out before getting trapped in this world" thing?

Congrats on your first jam!

I liked some of the dissonant sounds used in prologue to hint at underlying danger. It was maybe a tad too long for my tastes but it was still fine. Sometimes the dissonance felt unintentional however. That made some songs not quite as enjoyable during certain sections. Tell me if I'm wrong though since intentional dissonance is cool.

I also like that I could clearly hear a motif throughout the songs.

Stage 1 I was reminded of A hat in time at some parts, specifically the song "No more mafia boss".

I was a big fan of the bass you used in Stage 2. It reminded me of like old PC games.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like some of the songs repeat a full time or at least come close to an exact repeat before looping at the end. Because of that, the songs feel too long. In the future, I think a good idea would be to only start a loop to show how it loops before fading, and if the loop is actually changing something and is subtle but important, point it out in the text so people know to listen for those changes.

The melody in Stagefin was really good and was by far my favorite song in the OST. It changed frequently so I didn't get bored and had some crunchy chords. It had some parts that were dying for different notes though. Just from listening to it once, there were a bunch of sections that I would have composed differently, but that's the beauty of OST jams. This isn't my song so I get to hear a different interpretation. Stagefin had the most parts I thought could use fixing in notation and mixing, yet despite that, it was my favorite because of how unique it was and how I assume it pushed you to try something new.

Great entry. You have a lot of promise! Keep making music because I'm sure you will improve quickly!

Thanks (^^;

I try to make sure the dissonance I use is intentional, but it can sometimes slip my mind while arranging my tracks. STAGEFIN was actually closer to my typical style than the rest of the soundtrack, much of the difficulty here that had me leave my comfort zone was coming up with a usable motif that's recognizable and versatile.

Also I wasn't quite sure how to do looped tracks in the submission so I played it safe by having it loop once before fading out, which I understand can become a bit boring. Knowing this now, I think I will start fading it out after the loop point instead of making it repeat oncee before fading out.

Congratulations! The experience was very interesting while I was listening. The way you built the progressive instrumentation up to the final stage was fascinating.

Nice soundscape - the instrumentation here is really fitting for the theme. I don't hear acoustic instruments and synths being used together often, but you've done it well! I like the percussion on your tracks as well. I like the octave jumps in the harp on STAGE2, adds a lot of depth and shape to the track. Great work overall, this is such a complete submission!!!

Mixing synth and accoustic is really hard and it's your first jam, so that's really impressive (in the first track) ! By keeping the good work and learning more mixing technics, you can make your really cool musical universe shine.

The rest is cool, solid base, I'll keep an eye on your progress !

Title: this is really cozy sounding, and I like the cross between synth and analog instruments here! The guitar sounds great—did you record it? It’s a very upbeat track.

Prologue: I like the nervous piano coupled with the uncertain harp part. The clashing harp chords on the final repeat also add to the sense of mystery and confusion. I might recommend squeezing in a countermelody to accompany the repeat of the melody, but perhaps the simplicity is what makes the track work.

Stage 1: ah—here is the countermelody I was looking for! I enjoy how you’ve expanded the nervous 3/4 piano/harp idea into something with more depth and excitement.

Stage 2: I am beginning to feel fatigued by the key being the same across each track. This would work well if one track fades neatly into another, but if not, you could easily change the key/tempo to add a bit more interest. What I do love about this track is the beautiful harp arpeggios and warm strings.

Stage 3: this is a cool tone shift!! In the future, when you have an instrument playing a prolonged melody—like the flute melody followed by the piano melody in this track—don’t be afraid to double it in other instruments, even just in sections. Or, trade the melody off between two or three instruments! This helps add more depth to your tracks.

Stage Fin: this, I think, is my favorite track! I’m picking up on a slow shift from acoustic to electronic instruments dominating the sound as we descend deeper into Fantasy. This seems to mark the deepest point in synth-world. It’s got a strong sense of drive throughout, with some cool harmonies. Almost reminds me of Pokémon battle music!

Ending: nice and chill ending. Not much to say, except I like the layering of the shakers and percussion here.

Overall, for your first entry, this is a really cohesive and well-done soundtrack! I like that it’s a complete story with a sense of progression. There’s always room for improvement, but you’ve got a stronger foundation than some, and I really look forward to seeing what you do in the future. Well done, and keep writing!

i love the mix of acoustic instruments and synths, and the melancholy chord progressions! my only real complaint is that it sounds maybe a little too clean and digital for all the acoustic instruments used (i have the same problem when i use piano so i shouldn't even be talking). track 6 (final stage) just rocks, GREAT chord changes and drum sounds. good stuff man

Thanks =u=

Yeah, my style has a strong DTM MIDI vibe to it, which I don't really mind personally though I understand why some people don't like it. Having a limited sound library is also a factor in why I had to use rather digital sounds, the good libraries are all so expensive TToTT.
