You said it was an easy platformer. YOU LIED TO ME!
But seriously, it's a great game; you nailed the platforming. There were a few bugs here and there when falling, but nothing that really impacted the gameplay—it just reset the count.
Congrats on the work.
Cool use of the theme, twisting the concept into a very trustworthy platformer. Never thought that playing Mario Maker troll levels would pay off till now (but this game would never try to trick anyone). Fun game.
i liked it a lot, the title was a scam tho so i want a refund! otherwise a cool game 7/10
I believed you... and now I have a number on my back tell me just how many times I was a fool... (meta layer of don't trust anyone even the dev is p funny, nice little platformer!)
The Level Devil-style 3D platforming traps, cute capsule-with-a-cap character model, and trolling death counter make this ragebait platformer addictively frustrating! Subverting player expectations with fake platforms and sudden trap spawns translates the "Don't Trust" theme into a hilariously infuriating gameplay loop that runs super smoothly in WebGL.
A few collision, respawn bug, and camera polish fixes for post-jam updates:
- Respawn Void Loop: Fix the player spawn/checkpoint logic so falling off the map doesn't trigger an infinite void-falling loop or spawn the player out of bounds.
- Hitbox Forgiveness: Adjust spike and obstacle collision hitboxes to be slightly tighter than the visual meshes so players don't explode from phantom hits.
- Audio & Camera Controls: Add a background music loop to complement the jump/death SFX, and smooth out the camera sensitivity when pivoting around tight jump angles.
Awesome 3D troll-platformer vibe and super addictive level design! If you get a free minute, I'd really appreciate your feedback and rating on my solo jam entry as well: /jam/brackeys-16/rate/4953523
The level design is great. It fits the genre. I know making a game is hard. Be proud of yourself for finishing something!
very fun game it reminds me of Level devil yeah but 3d the camera controls are a but strange but fun game overall
I don't know what I did but i was falling indefinitely, other than that and the mouse aiming the game was great loved the Visals and sfx.
Interesting meta interpretation of the theme.
I am mad so you have won
i like this and think it has great potential, the art is good, its a ragebait game which are popular right now and its one of those almost addictive loops whish is great game design
a few things from me and i am not an expert, this is i am just a gamer
the collision boxes feel harsh, i dont think i was touching the spikes a few times when i exploded.
a looping soundtrack would be great
Really nice design, looks a little bit like fall guys. Maybe add indicators where obstacle will be pop up so players could learn?
Runs very smoothly on my browser.
I liked the capsule character with the cap! A very cute design
I had to quit after I hit 10 deaths because clearly the rage game and I weren't going to get along.
Liked your idea and the art style is very nice, but i kept on running into a bug where if you fell into the void then it would spawn you back into the void and you would fall infinitely. Despite that i still gave it a few goes and it didn't ruin the experience too much. Nice work!
I have trust issues with platforms now. Nice work.
I liked the clean 3d (and the death counter teasing me)
Sometimes I would spawn near my death spot, I don't know if that's intended. It would be cool idea to implement into a checkpoint like system (like after some obstacles the next death appears there, instead of starting from the beggining every time)
I really liked the visual aspect of the player in your simple 3d scene. Looks like the beginning of a decent game! Check out our game sometime! /jam/brackeys-16/rate/4929631
The game is super fun and I like the theme implementation of not being able to trust the obstacles, but I do think the respawns could be made a little better as I did get stuck respawning in the air a few times..
