A blast to play! The vibes are immaculate and I appreciate the flexibility you gave players in choosing their upgrade paths. The risk-reward tension for being greedy later on was really satisfying. I think my only real constructive feedback would be to tweak the upgrades numbers/prices a bit; having some higher-yield options that cost maybe 1,000-2,000 would break up the economy pacing a bit, so players don't race to all upgrades early and then have only a single goal left for a chunk of the playtime. Really well done overall!

How does your game meet GBJam's theme
It’s the Gold Rush in the 1800s. You followed the classic advice of selling shovels to miners, until you realized the real fortune was in digging for gold yourself.

Almost missed this which would have been a shame as I was following you on bsky through the jam. While I don’t fully enjoy “incremental games”, by this I mean get upgrad, number go bigger, reach number win, due to the time investment ones needs to finish them this was a lot of fun with interesting ideas and a cool spin on the otherwise very much explored gold rush get gold coins ideas.
Graphics wise the game looks lovely, the color change on reboot/rerun is cool idea, the game sprites look lovely and everyhing fits together well. Start screen screams old western movies, Sfx and music were great well done!
Awesome idea, great implementation!
Solid game on all fronts!
Really enjoyed it, only feedback would be to make the punishment for
getting shot by archers less massive ^^"
Game kinda explained itself and it was fun upgrading and keep playing
This was a lot of fun! Music was my favorite of the jam so far, it was catchy without being too distracting, which is good because I was listening to it for a long time collecting my gold!
Great submission! I am so happy I came across this game! I love this concept and approach. The tunes are very very well done, and really gave the gameboy classic tune experience. Additionally, I love the pixel art! it is like a modern classic mario! Lovely work. (also, was this all solo created? because if so, HOLY COW.)
I rlly like the gameplay here and changing palletes. Great stuff!!
I had the bug, but luckily, there was a fixed version. I couldn't stop playing this game. It was fun and addictive. It has an upgrade system, which was good to have. The controls feel solid, and the color palette that switches each round was a nice little touch.
The one thing that could be better is the bombs. In some levels, you have to use the bombs, but when you've already thrown two away, you have to wait to get another one. Sometimes, they didn't appear in the level either.
But overall, a strong entry!
I did had the bug, but as you told to play the fixed version made it work. Bugs can happen and such bug I won't reduce points on that cause otherwise the game won't be playable.
So it's a very unique game haven't found this type of game yet on here. The art is very wonderfull to look at.
I did slightly not like the generated maps it would be nice if the generation was a bit better and not unfair somtimes. But I know you don't have much time in these jams.
So overall it's a really fun game that has potential to be a real Gameboy game. A game I would be addicted to well done!
Really fun incremental game! The animations are very satisfying (and the agony of seeing how many coins are dropped whenever taking damage) and I like the palette switches that happen every run.
I played this on stream today (recording here) in case you’re interested in watching someone play your game. Great job!
Oh wow, thanks so much! This was such a nice surprise. It was really fun (and a little nerve-wracking) to watch someone play my game and seeing the chat reactions. I did feel bad every time you got hit by the enemies and wonder if I should have reduced their frequency. 😂
Appreciate you grinding till the end to see the ending.
Will check out your game as well!
The music is really good and fits the game perfectly! The power ups are fun, specially the bomb since it has you keeping an eye under you as you go, great job!
I never expected this to be so cool! The music goes so well with it. A masterpiece :)
I liked some palettes better than others, so it could be nice to be able to choose, like, a palette playlist? Just an idea though :P
I didn't notice any bugs in the original version (Chrome, Windows 11).
Amazing work!! I even recorded the ending 😅
Really cool game. While the core of it is just a moving sidescroller, there is an abundance of variety in level design, obstacles, and even color palette to keep the player engaged. Great job!
Plays very nicely, and being able to control your jump height is always a plus. The color palette changing between levels(?) is a really nice touch too!
Haven't gone too far into it, but seems to be an incremental type game. (unlocked bombs so far)
Not my favorite genre but still, but you've made something real solid here. Something I'd play to kill time during computer science period, and in all the good ways!
This looks great, and the tutorialization is excellent for 10 days. Sometimes the levels are really bare, especially above the track. This makes you want to go to the front of the screen to try and find anything and earn some gold before the time runs out, but you will inevitably by archered or batted for doing this and that feels bad. I especially wanted to shout out the music. It may not have the most music of any game in the jam, but that main song is a real banger. Great job all around!
Oh my god. I have this game's soundtrack playing in the background as I type this out. What an insanely well made game, the fact that it was made in 10 days blows my mind.
