Hey! I am playing and rating games, and I was wondering if people might be looking for specific feedback (gameplay, art, difficulty, etc.). If so, post your game below and ask away :)
PS. I can play browser, Linux and Windows!
1.5 days is really impressive! Art wise I really like the minimalist black and white, the cat is very cute! Gameplay wise I think the game was fun, but a little bit too difficult, especially in level two I had it were I died a bunch on the jumping over the white symbols, it might help to have some kind of checkpoint or a slightly easier mode where a player does not lose the coins they have already collected? :) Also, definitely make clear when the player has the coins they need to collect and that they can move on, luckily you had it in the description but otherwise I would have almost missed that there was more level than one! Super well done on your jam entry :)
First of all, so sad you deleted the game accidentally on your original, glad you could still upload it like this! Super nice to have the controls be super clear, and I was quite surprised by the amount of abilities you fitted in there with the limited controls! Level design wise I quite like the game, it incrementally increases the difficulty by introducing a new problem, really good! I also like that the level started to combine abilities slowly (like the tower gap becoming bigger so you couldn't just only jump over it). The only problem I had was at two moments: the gap you need to bridge in the tower, was very punishing to fall down and have to do the whole part before that again. And second, through teleporting I glitched into the ceiling right after that part and didn't find a way to reset it. Super well done on the entry, very charming!
Hey there! I would really appreciate some rating and feedback on my entry, which is a roguelike take on Minesweeper with a pirate theme. I ran out of time so it's basically a one-level demo with a peek at the further development but, since I plan on continuing to work on this and make it a full release, I would love all the feedback I can get. Good, bad, mid. I will take it all!

So first of all, I really like the pirate theme and the feel of the game, I am a sucker for Minesweeper so I might be slightly biased, but it is a fun game! Sad there wasn't much game to play yet, but I think it would definitely be fun to see a full game of this!! From the comments left on your game I am afraid there might be a lot I missed, but I did not manage to access the shop nor finish the level, it seems that sometimes my input didn't register? I played the fixed version, and I did also run into the problem of that the shovel got stuck in the middle of two tiles? Might be because I clicked too fast whilst still moving? So all in all, I had fun but I did walk into a bunch of different bugs, if you would like me to reproduce them for you or give you more details so that you might have an easier time to fix them, lmk, but curious what you will make for a full release for sure! :)
Hey there! Thanks so much for playing. I really appreciate the honest feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed what worked, sorry to hear you didn't complete the level. Yeah, I definitely ended up biting off more than I could chew in the time allotted. Bending GB Studio to force it to make a complex puzzle game like that was not an easy or quick thing to do. If I were to do it over I'd probably have done a couple of things different.
Having said that, your feedback is useful. I know someone else has told me it seemed like making fast input makes it freeze up or messes with the cursor, and your input sounds very inline with that. Definitely going to keep working on it and try to solve those issues!
Heya! Would love feedback on ours, it's my first time participating in a Game Jam: https://arctictype.itch.io/lowball-hockshop
I am genuine when I say I am really surprised this is the first game jam you participate in? I think the game has a super fun gameplay loop (I kept haggling, super fun mechanic) and the music is absolutely amazing too! (also, the art, great, genuinely love soo much about it?) The game feels really polished, fun, and overall, I just like it! (Also, poor kid that got their trading card sold hahah). Also left a comment and rating on the rating page of course!
Hi ! This is our first game jam and we would love any kind of feeback :) /jam/gbjam-14/rate/5031043
First of all, super well done for the whole team on this first game jam! I always love games with animals in them and I think the game is super charming! I too as I see in the comments struggled a lot with the fishing game, but the tutorial thing on the game page helped with understanding what was going on, and judging from the comments a lot of other people already gave a lot more thorough feedback on that part. I do like the putting together the urn part despite the difficulty, I think a lot of games do a lot of handholding with that kinda part where it is too easy and I think it is actually super fun that you can really rotate it to a lot more than just the four directions. So again, super well done, will leave a comment on the rating page too! :)
I do that too, but always like to help people out if they want me to give feedback on specific things so I can pay extra attention to those elements :) I don't do it with the goal to get more ratings myself (why I specifically do not put a link to my own game here). Also, thank you so much for hosting the jam, super fun theme, definitely joining the next one!
First of all, super well done on your first game jam, I think especially for a first jam your game feels really polished and fun, and I had a fun time playing! I thought the score gave a good incentive to try to collect as many of the orbs as I could, and as a fan of platformers I can say the controls felt nice, so again well done! Also, thank you so much for playing CRAB-HAT, much appreciated! :)
First of all, well done on your first published project! I definitely felt the 'rage game' genre part of it sometimes, but had a good time trying to get higher regardless, fun gameplay loop! I did wonder for a second if I forgot that I could shoot since I do have a gun, but doesn't seem I could shoot. Also, might be handy to make the enemies either a little slower or give some sort of sidescreen exclamation mark or something, since sometimes I couldn't seem to see that they were coming in time. Again though, well done!! :)

Always open and thankfull for feedback, also my ever first game jam and "fullgame" release
Think the pirates fit the theme quite well and I like the gameplay loop! I think the art is pretty solid, it fits the gameboy very well, but sometimes it was hard to tell what the tile was supposed to be, so it would be nice to maybe make that a bit more clear (but I also get that it is hard to get across because so little pixel, feel ya). I also quite like the little animation like the walking with the legs going up and down, very retro! Also, the music I think is pretty good! I think it is simple, but regardless fits the game well. Especially for both the music and art being brand new, I think you did a really great job! :)
just throwing my hat in the ring if anyone has time! /jam/gbjam-14/rate/5035290
Would love feedback on how the story comes across! /jam/gbjam-14/rate/5035267
Rated and left a comment on the rating page, I like the nostalgic feel of the different arcade games! As for the story, I think it wasn't quite clear to me what happened with the last arcade thing, it seemed like there was a guardian that walked with me like I was a kid (and I take the sometimes getting a bit lost as a kid/losing your guardian?) and it was a memory of my childhood, but I am unsure of what exactly the arcade machine being gone meant in terms of story. Could you maybe tell me a bit more about the story? :)
Thanks for the feedback! Yeah I realize now I needed to flush out and communicate the story better. So the game is supposed to be a collection of memories from your childhood, going to the Arcade.
From the start you think you are just at an arcade playing games. Then the second game ends at a prize counter with the prize slowly forming. Finally the third game is just a full flashback, a guardian, older brother, or older friend is taking you to play games. But once you get to one of them they disappear and the veil is dropped. You are alone in the old arcade. The prize on the table at the end is the memories you regained.
Maybe some other patrons at the arcade that also disappear and then a cutscene to help explain what happened would have helped.
If you'd wanna try my game ( /jam/gbjam-14/rate/4998728 ), I'd love some feedback about the player controls and and the enemy design (whether they feel fun and fair to fight).
Made this game with a friend. This was our first game jam and we kinda ran outta time before we finished the level and not sure how fun/balanced the game is. I would really appreciate your feedback with the game.
