I like how the speed increases as you play. Fun game! But window too smol

Submitted

Oh how everything snowballs once you reach too much speed!
This game is really fast , makes it hard to dodge the tar or to catch things, but it's also just as quick to just jump back into! (Almost had 666), Good stuff!

Fun idea, though it gets very difficult more quickly than I can adapt to it lol.

liked the game although had trouble reading the shop item characteristics, other than that i enjoyed it

I enjoyed this game and found it hard to dodge anything accuratly because of how quickly I got fast. The shops font want also sort of hard to read but I did really like the sounds, good work!

Whew, I'm not good at this one.  Several times I died to "The Void" but I didn't actually see the void on the screen.  Difficult to get gold before the void gets you. (Some games I didn't even *see* any gold before the game ended).  I can't tell how much gold I actually have on the Market screen.

But it's a compelling gameplay loop and quick and easy to play a few games.  I liked it.

The gameplay loop is very nice! Also, in love with the market soundtrack.

Fun concept for a game! I thought that the core gameplay loop was pretty enticing. Only thing I think is the top screen starts moving down a bit too quickly before I can really get any gold. I think after playing a few times I only had about 10 gold. Maybe that is a skill issue though. >.>

It was a little hard to read with the fonts, and it's got a tough gameplay but probably cause my reaction time is deteriorating with age :)

It's a great idea to see the saved high score at screen start; and the color scheme does give out the retro vibe. Choice of music and mixing it up is also a good choice. All in all a nice GB game and great execution!

Cool game, had a lot of fun playin it! Great music and sfx as well!

Left a rating - it's a good concept but I never quite got the hang of it. Bombs weren't an issue I don't think I ran into any but I kept getting caught by the void. I tried my best to avoid the tar but it felt like my runs never lasted too long.
I liked the music a lot, and the intro screen is nice!

A solid roguelike drilling game. The upgrade system is definitely a nice touch. It took me so many tries to be able to afford even the first improvement, though.

The unexplained-ness of the void works well. It is inexplicable, yet insatiable. It did catch me a lot of times even when I didn't hit any oil or bombs.

The font is a bit hard to read. Many times letters smear into each other. Kerning is your friend, even (or perhaps especially) at this scale.

And I did notice too many colors on the upgrade screen. The greying-out of unaffordable options seems to push over the four-color limit there. Without that misstep, the rest seemed to fit four colors just fine.

Wow love the design and the music is awesome! Good job!

Solid entry! I thought it played pretty well and fit the "Game Boy Era" aesthetic well. The few of my issues were mainly UI related.
1. The viewport is very small and hard to play without zooming in or going full screen, which I was unable to do because:
2. I wasn't able to disable the cursor lock for whatever reason. Maybe there's a conflict with the Escape key in-game? Whatever the reason, I wasn't able to click the fullscreen button either.

My last thing is just with the keyboard input. It might be easier on a console or with a controller, but it was very hard to spam the arrow keys to quickly avoid the oil/void stuff. My workaround was using both the WASD and Arrows to move quickly. Once I did that, it was pretty fun. These aren't major issues and are more fine-detail things. Overall, I feel you did excellently. Congrats on your submission!

I am a big fan of games like this, where you pick it up very quickly, but it takes a lot to master.

I unfortunately do not have the skill to master this one, but the concept seems like it is doing the same thing as my game, just in a better way.

Great play, good luck with it!

I had a lot of fun playing this and kept replaying it each time i died. I really liked the vibes of the game and the art in the menus is really nicely done. I got stuck once in the guides menu and had to restart the game but other than that I didn't really run into any other bugs. I also really enjoyed the music.

Good game :) I was slight confused by some of what the block were doing. The price of the market are too high but I replay the game several time. Good job :)

Fun and slightly addicting game, great job! I was very confused on what the blocks did so maybe having an explanation in the game would be helpful. Or if it is then placing it somewhere more obviously like before starting would be helpful! Also I didn't understand how the void was speeding up.

Nice gameplay loop, colors, and music!

Unfortunately, I struggled to make much progress. The drill went so fast that I couldn't collect any gold in multiple runs, and it seems weird to pick up speed when you are running out of fuel. The text was also difficult to read, and I don't think a down button was implemented, which made navigating the menus confusing. I think this game has a lot of potential!

Very neat gameplay loop, reminds me a lot of the vibes of Mr Driller. I struggled to get enough gold after a dozen tries to obtain even one upgrade. It also took me a few runs to realise both 'z' and 'x' do things, though the exact specifics I'm still not entirely sure on. The music is great, but I wish there were nicer transitions between tracks.
