I wish controls were more responsive, sometimes it was hard to navigate. I don't understand why some coins we moving with constant speed despite my acceleration. Maybe I miss some motivation or challenge here. But great that you've finished the game

Interesting feedback. There's probably room here for some how showing the player what their current momentum is so it's more clear. The player has a momentum range between gliding and diving, which maxes out at a terminal velocity. Coins fall at their own speeds as well, with their own terminal velocities (visually distinguished by how fast they spin). So how fast the coins go by is partially determined by how fast you are falling... this is true for all coins, but some of them are falling faster/slower relative to the player.
The floaty controls were a design choice. Aiming to feel like what it would feel like to actually skydive, but that's definitely not for everybody. I also considered doing a more cartoony approach (think Goku- or Iron Man-type physics), but ultimately wanted something more "realistic", in as much as that is possible in a 10 day game jam.
Thanks for checking the game out!
It really does feel like what I imagine skying diving would be. I am also probably in the minority on this, but i kind of like how the lack of music makes the sky feels more empty. With all that said, i would have liked a coin goal to work towards or something to help me know if i had a good run vs a bad run (besides the death screen).
I spent (too much) time trying to make music and just don't have the skills for what I had in my head. But I realized immediately after the deadline that I could have made a track of whooshing/blowing wind that would have worked well as a more "natural" feel. Slightly raise the volume while diving... that would have been a simple solution to at least have something playing in the background. Alas, we live and learn.
Thanks for playing the game!
Simple but really nice! I liked seeing this kind of freefall mechanic used in the jam, and everything felt pretty solid overall.
If I had one small suggestion, it would be to make the dialogue a bit faster to skip through.
Wow, the art is amazing, tyhe gameplay feels a little bit of for me, i think it is a little bit too hard to control.. But nice game overall!
I was really expecting a "Congratulations!" screen when I dove headfirst, and Olympically, beautifully into the ocean. Genuinely laughed hard when it was revealed that I died.
The movement feels good and the UI is great. I love the dithered effect of things behind the clouds.
The physics in this are impressive! Collecting coins and parachuting down was fun, the only thing I was missing was a sick soundtrack to accompany it! Great work!
An enjoyable game. I liked how you introduced the story. You made collecting coins fun. As an improvement I didn't feel like I was falling fast, I think if things were rushing past faster it would have been better. Also when you hit the ground it should really be a thud and look like it hurts!
Lol, originally I was going to have the ground just overtake the screen with a thud, just like you say. With the weird angle I used, it looked super weird. Having the character visibly splat on solid ground also seemed... grizzly. Thus the ocean splash. Solves all the problems in 4 frames of animation.
Very amusing gameplay, and I loved the change in color palette as you're falling down!!!! ALSO loved the theme interpretation, very fun!!!

"Priceless treasure" My brother in Christ is literally money 😭
Now being serious, really liked the unique gameplay. The pixel art and the 3d effect on the coins are really well made. Maybe de sfx to collect the coins is a little anoying, but it's ok. I loved the palette change while getting closer to the sea.
Really enjoyed playing this one.
Congrats!!!
The sunset skies were a great use for the color palette swaps. Would've liked to see more from Mr Twirlstash. Too bad you didn't get a chance to do a soundtrack, the SFX were pretty good! I got about 115 coins after I learned to embrace diving. I'll try later to see if I can get them all.
Simple and fun game! I like how the unique controls have you learn them for a bit to get used to them!
This is a simple but fun game. I quite like the graphics, they're very neat. Good job.
Probably would've been better with a soundtrack but this is a good game with controls that feel like skydiving. I couldn't quite get the special ending but this game was pretty cool anyway. Good work.
If you like, you could play my forgetful goldfish game.
I really enjoyed playing this game. It looks fantastic and the physics/controls feel great. I tried my best to 100% clear it but maxed myself out at 117 treasures :') Great work!
Nice colors, and the skydiving actually feels like skydiving lol. Liked the intro cutscenes too
Nice game, couldn't quite get all the coins but I got most of them, I even got over 105 at one point but forgot to save a screenshot, I also really like the cutscenes at the beginning
cool ! but i would appreciate some music, and an options menu to lower the coin collect sound
