This game is really hard lol. I will try to beat it later
WOW this was an incredible game! the gameplay, art, and polish is impeccable, and what’s more insane is that you made everything besides the music by yourself?! it’s also really cool that the map changes. really enjoyed this!
Thanks for checking out our game!
And yes! I’ve been on an adventure over the past two years to really lean into dev and level up my skills. I love pouring hours into my games, and I usually try to build on top of my previous games.
This game took the targeting mechanic from Light It Up (Alchemy Jam 7), the upgrade and shop mechanic from Isfet (NES Jam 2026)/Snooze Control (made for a past jam that I never finished/released), and the enemy mechanics from a mix of my other games.
Since I didn’t have to figure these things out again, it meant I could get them into the game pretty quickly and then spend more of my time on art and polish!
really admire that! i’ll definitely have to give your other games a try sometime. just from a glance, they also look awesome!
I played this for WAY too long. Super addictive and fun gameplay loop, with great art and music.
I enjoyed my time playing this game. The gameplay had a nice difficulty curve and I thought the skeleton mages was a nice design decision to make the player have to give attention everywhere.
The ghosts didn't feel like they contributed much to my gameplay decision making, but honestly they did fill out the vertical space of the map and it was satisfying seeing them die to collateral damage.
this game honestly has the best gameplay among ones i played this jam. I thought it was a bit underwhelming before map changed for the first time.
Also, animation of that regular enemy(with combination of it's movement pattern, of course), scratches my brain in pleasant way idk how to describe it
WOW. This game was incredible; so much fun! Great job. It is crazy how polished it is, it feels buttery smooth to play and super satisfying destroying the enemies (especially those skeleton wizards smh). In addition the art was top notch and the music was unbelievable! Incredible work!
(⸝⸝๑﹏๑⸝⸝)
This game is giving me the same vibes and panic I feel during a Blood Moon when I play Terraria. This is really polished and the art is soo cool ദ്ദി ˉ͈̀꒳ˉ͈́ )✧
I didn't manage to last as long, though.. Was there a technique to stop the fire from attacking the pumpkin? I figured if I aim further, I will eliminate whatever is throwing fire at me (because it's off-screen..)
I'm not cut-out for fighting/strategy games, but I think this is something my partner will enjoy playing so I'll tell him to give it a try!
Amazing job to your team!
You can pan the camera left and right using the arrow keys or WASD—it’s essential for finding and dealing with those pesky mages that keep trying to roast your pumpkin!
WOAH! Your guidance made a huge difference! I still lost the pumpkin, though
(っ╥﹏╥ς)
Awesome job! I enjoyed playing it this time around
From your play time and body count it looks like you were so close!
I was like..
"You know what? tblezy took the time to give me guidance on how to play this game. AND I SHALL CONQUER THIS GAME!"
(⊙‿◎)
I had like 300 pumpkin bullets for the last levels just so I can make pumpkins rain on those mages
ヾ(๑╹◡╹)ノ🔪
I learned to only go to the shop when I ran out of pumpkin bullets or if I am almost dying because the level got harder whenever I go buy in the shop. I had so much money that I think I found a bug where my money gets spent for health even when the health bar is full (I had too many pumpkin bullets so I maxed my health every time for the last level)
Hahaha.. This is not the genre of game that I play but I really had fun playing it! Thanks!
You made it—GG!
I love the power fantasy of decimating a horde with artillery pumpkin fire. Also that is the meanest game over screen I have seen all jam :) Great Game!
Very, very fun game. The art is great, the music is great (I heard some brazilian sounding stuff but it works super well in a halloween game???), but the gameplay was fantastic. The juice and polish made it feel even better. I feel like a lot of time was spent fine-tuning things to make the game feel as smooth as it is with stuff like the pumpkin bounce upgrade making things easier to hit, the skeleton sorcerer alert on the side of the screen, and the item costs. I found myself really enjoying it!
LOVE this game, it is so fun!! the camera settings were perfect for me on default, and the pacing was SO good; it felt like i was earning money at just the right rate...until everything changed a second time, and then it was just my skill that was lacking :( the only critique i have is that the loop for the music felt a tiny bit awkward, like you could hear the music ending before it started again. it would have been nice to have it loop a bit more completely! other than that, though, the art, gameplay, music, sfx; everything was top tier!!
The game is super fun! The hit effects of the pumpkin are very satisfying, and the use of the limitation is really creative. Everything just feel so well polished in this game, great work!
I think this might be my favorite game this jam so far! The upgrades felt extremely rewarding, the art was fantastic, and the gameplay is just so satisfying! The music accompanies the gameplay so well too! I honestly wish I could've played this for longer. It goes without saying but fantastic work!
I knew this was going to be great while following the progress posts in discord and it lived up to the hype. Beautiful art and animations, good music and sound effects, fun concept, progression, and map changes while the camera is elsewhere–I have to get nitpicky to find any fault… and so I shall. It’s a bit more Halloween themed than autumn themed, no? Amazing game!
Gorgeous, super polished, loved, looooved the music! big GGs! I didnt really feel the limitation though, to me it played like a classic tower defense, did I miss something?
Thanks for playing! I implemented the limitation in two ways: 1) the levels will only change when you look away/return to the shop and 2) the enemies will always spawn on the play field, but they'll only ever start to spawn off camera.
Oh yes, that make sense! It was super smoothely integrated then, really felt natural, so it didn’t occure to me that’s what was going on behind the curtains 👀 I’ll up my limitation rating then, gg again for the entry!
This game has such great polish and a really solid gameplay loop! I really love the UI design! It looks great and fits in super well with the style of the game. All the art is amazing too! The monster animations are so well done. Those fast zombies had me stressing whenever they showed up! Incredible work! :D
Thanks! This two week format for jams is so nice; I was able to focus much more deeply on the art than I'd normally do for a jam game. Zomboi is definitely my favorite of the pack!

Loved the art! The animations looked amazing
Overall, I absolutely loved this! The core loop is so fun that this could easily be expanded into a full, standalone game. A few thoughts on where you could build on this awesome foundation: The enemy action is super fast and intense! Giving the player a subtle warning indicator before enemy attacks and adding a bit more distance/spawn margin around the base would make dodging feel even more rewarding and reactive. We could have more defensive tools etc. The pumpkin catapult is such a fun mechanic! Adding a few additional weapon types or unlockable levels down the road would make the gameplay loop shine even brighter. I would also felt that camera was moving a bit slower at points of the game so that could also have like a sensitivity option.
Amazing job for a jam submission you’ve got a fantastic base here!
You can already adjust the camera speed in the options, but I should have highlighted that in-game or on the itch page. Thanks for playing and sharing your feedback!
Really cool. Just overall really good.
Zombies are something of a special interest for me, so I was super excited to see your game. The smashing pumpkins really are phenomenal, it's all the splatter you hope for without the gore factor and literally juicy. And even though the ravenous dead want to crack open my gourd to feast on its juicy innards, I still found it comfy.
Tying the shop to the level changes is a clever way of ramping up the difficulty, although a savvy player can spend all their money on pumpkins to generate an obscene amount of wealth early on. And while it is super fun to spam a thousand napalm-filled jack-o-lanterns at my enemies, it did make the game drag on a little long
Maybe pumpkins could become more expensive as you stockpile them, then it sort of puts a cap on how many the player can hoard
Great game, I really enjoyed it!
Omg.. I had so much fun playing this. I didn't expect it to be so good! The gameplay loop is great and the level switching idea is so creative. My only issue is with the mages due to how far I had to scroll to get them.
Just amazing. Keep making great stuff guys!
