itch.io

Opah!

Wow! Really nice game! I feel like our games have some similarities, both are about digging and buying upgrades, especially the shovel! I really enjoyed playing it. I just got a little confused because I can place as many bombs as I want, but the HUD still shows Bombs = 0.

The graphics are really good too! It's impressive what you managed to make within the limitations. Great job!

I think this was one of the most creative and interesting concepts I've seen in this jam so far! Love the level design and the variety of obstacles

Yeah, had fun playing! Love your pixel art and the concept. In the beginning, I got a little lost because I wasn't familiar with the concept of having minigames in the middle, but once I understood it, I really liked what you did

I'm glad you liked it! And yeah, I also think the progression at the beginning is a little slow. This was actually something I noticed too, because the random chance of finding or not finding items means that sometimes the early progression can be really quick, while other times it can be a bit slower. So yeah, I think that part could definitely use some review. But thanks for playing and for the feedback!

Hey! I really enjoyed the game's concept, but I think the gameplay needs some review. I found it really hard to get through the rooms, and I also got crushed by the walls a few times. But it's noticeable how much work you put into it! I really enjoyed the concept, and I think with a bit more polish to the gameplay, it could be really fun to play

Hahaha, super fun concept! Had fun playing it, love how you used the theme

Nice game! I really enjoyed the gameplay, I could have kept playing for a long time. The color palette and graphics are great too, and it definitely has that Game Boy soul

Wow, I really enjoyed this game! Super fun gameplay, good enemy variety, and a nice lighting mechanic. I do think this is an idea that could work great in a bigger game too.

Hi!! Thanks for playing, I'm happy you had fun! In the main idea, you should be able to interrupt the digging by pressing K again. If that's not working, there must have been a bug in the latest version I uploaded. Sorry about that, I'll check it out!

really liked this game! The level design and puzzles are simple but really effective and fun to play

Really incredible graphics, I just love it. The SFX are also really good, and I really enjoyed the simple concept of reading the tips and looking for the treasures. Nice work!

Oh, that's weird, sorry about that. I'm gonna check what happened. Thanks for trying to play! :)

Haha, glad you enjoyed it! And yeah, screw those lifeguards!

Hi! You need to press L to interact with the dialogue box and progress through the cutscene. The game controls are: A, W, S, D — movement K — dig L — interact with dialogue and the store

Brazilian? I’ll post it in English just to be sure. I think posting the controls on the game page would have been good. Anyway, I thought the idea of getting money to go to Bar do Zé was fun. I kinda wanna go there in real life now. Does it just have one level? After finishing it, I couldn’t figure out how to get to the next level by pressing any key on the keyboard.

Hey! Really nice graphics and sound effects, and great visual feedback throughout the game. I just kinda wish the game was a little bit longer

Hey, I'm sorry, but I don't think the keyboard controls are working :(

I'm glad the feedback was helpful!

As for the options menu, I think it fits the game's overall style. It's definitely simpler than the rest of the UI, but I don't see that as a bad thing. The colors match the game's aesthetic, and I think it's clean, intuitive, and easy to use.

Personally, I wouldn't spend too much time redesigning it. I think it's already in a really good place, and I'd focus more on polishing the gameplay and adding the missing features.

Wow, this is impressive! I love the low-poly visuals, and the game is really creative. A horror (roguelike?) is such a cool idea.

I just have a few notes. I played the game without headphones, so I might be wrong, but I don't think the enemies make any sound when they're walking toward the player. I think adding footsteps or some kind of audio cue would really help make the gameplay feel more dynamic and prevent players from taking damage just because they don't know where an enemy is coming from.

Also, I think a flashlight or even a minimap would be a nice addition. I personally don't enjoy the feeling of being completely lost.

Overall, great job! I really enjoyed it.

Thank you so much for the detailed feedback! I'm really glad you enjoyed the game.

About the UI, it wasn't directly inspired by Shovel Knight, but more by NES-era games in general. Since Shovel Knight also takes a lot of inspiration from that era, I guess there is definitely some connection there haha.

The double jump and shooting mechanics are actually things I want to add in the full version! My idea is to create a progression system where players unlock new abilities based on their score, something like:2000+ score → double jump. 3000+ score → extra HP. and more upgrades as you progress.

I really like the idea of making the player feel stronger as they improve. I also agree that some enemies can feel a bit too fast, especially the slime. I'll keep that in mind and make some changes in the future.

Thank you again for playing and for the great suggestions!

Thank you so much!  I'm really happy you liked the art and concept. The little knight really has a long journey ahead of him just to see the sea haha. Thanks for playing! 💙

Wow, this game really surprised me! All the systems work really well. I really liked the upgrade system, the Ancient Tree boss, and the secret room that appears where you can upgrade between cycles.

I think the only things I missed were maybe a few more animations and environments that make it easier to identify where you are entering in the level, like the dojo and other areas.

Also, the SFX for the Ancient Tree's bomb attack is much louder than the rest of the game's sounds, so it could be balanced a little.

Great background music! Overall, really nice work.

Interesting idea! The game's art looks great, the movement feels smooth, and I really like the upgrade system.

I do have a few comments that might help, though.

I saw on the game's page that the tutorial was intentionally removed from the demo, but I definitely missed having one. I was a bit confused at first and only understood how everything worked after reading the controls and information on the game page.

I also think it could be helpful to have some kind of wave or level indicator so players know how far they've progressed.

The main mechanic of protecting the character while moving around the circle is interesting, but having the shots come from the center instead of from the player felt a bit confusing to me. It was difficult to aim in one direction while moving the character in another. Maybe it's something that becomes more natural with time, but it felt unintuitive during my first playthrough.

Also, I don't think the options menu is working yet. I tried lowering the volume and changing some other settings, but nothing seemed to happen.

Overall, I think the game has a lot of potential. Nice work!

I think the main idea is really nice. I believe one of the best ways to create games is by rethinking ideas that already exist and giving them a fresh twist.

I just have a few comments that might help.

At the beginning of the game, if neither player moves, the ball just keeps bouncing back and forth between the paddles forever. Maybe the ball should start in the center of the circle and launch in a random direction instead. That way, both players would have to move right from the start.

I also think adding an AI mode would make the game much more enjoyable. Playing against myself was pretty difficult and not very engaging.

Another thing I noticed is that it's a bit hard to predict where the ball will end up and reach it in time. Maybe the ball could start at a slower speed and gradually get faster as the match goes on. Alternatively, you could make the circle a bit larger to give players more time to react.

Overall, I think it's a really creative take on Pong. Nice job!

I thought about making a game art where you play as a paleontologist, exploring and studying dinosaurs and ancient relics, where you have to search for fossils and figure out which species of dinosaur they belong to.

Muito legal o jogo, me diverti bastante jogando.
