How does the game fit the theme?
You are questioned about a death in an archive vault. Every answer you give — true or false — becomes the flashback you then walk through, so the space you are searching is your own version of that night, not what actually happened. Lie to keep suspicion off yourself and the evidence you needed disappears along with the lie.
So you cannot trust the investigator asking the questions, and you cannot trust the account you just gave him either. Trust no one — including the version of yourself that is easier to live with.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
Two fonts: Open Sans and Roboto Mono, from Google Fonts, Apache License 2.0.
Everything else was made during the jam: all code, all 3D models (Blender), all writing. There are no audio files in the project at all — every sound is synthesised procedurally by the game's own code. Engine is Unity 6 with URP.

This is a very moody game that takes itself seriously at every turn, which I'm very appreciative of! The sounds being done by code is really interesting, although I think the alarm sound in particular suffered a bit for it, since it was really hard to listen to and also takes a while to turn off which isn't a great combination. I really enjoyed how telling the truth makes it more suspicious for you as well, a really tense set of moments that give you very little to work with, which speaks to this game's strengths. Awesome work!

This is such a cool concept, loved how you replayed the parts of the murder while being questioned

Really cool idea that the player has to gather information to prove their innocence.

Super cool game and ideas.

Impressive work for a solo dev.

Such an unexpected take on the "Trust No One" theme! I never expected to play as the person being interrogated, trying to find evidence to prove my own innocence. It fits the theme really well!

Some parts of the UI were a little confusing at first, but overall everything was pretty clear and had a nice level of challenge!

I have to admit though, the footsteps felt SO heavy XD I really wish I could run!

Overall, nice game!!

This is quite a polished game, especially for a 1-man work. Good job!

I really like the mechanic where scene changes to fit what you describe, but it kinda defeats the purpose of the initial run. Maybe just throw the player directly into the interrogation room?

Interesting game and concept with a lot of potential. Super creative and fits the theme well. The part about going back to reenact scenes while being interrogated is also very innovative and original.  Definitely agree with the other commentors who mentioned being a bit confused at the start and not being sure of how accuse. Personally, I also find the choice of sfx can be slightly better as well but amazing game idea and effort for a one man show!

Very cool, especially for a solo dev

Interesting idea. This is definitely one of those concepts that could be polished and expanded on. At first I was a little confused but when I was able to listen into the conversation from the air vent I started seeing the bigger picture. Also synthesizing the audio procedurally is super cool! If you haven't you should look up how star wars created the original sound effect for light sabers. Really opened my eyes to the limitless possibilities of sound design. Overall great idea just needs a little polish to really pop!

Really cool concept, took me a minute to figure out what my goal was. You had a unique take on the theme.

Really interesting idea! I especially liked how the answers and memories actually turn into the space you explore. The interrogation mechanic was also pretty unique and fits the jam theme really well.

My main issues were some noticeable stuttering, and personally the sound design didn’t quite work for me — at times it distracted me from the atmosphere a little. The interrogation UI also took a moment to understand, but once the mechanic clicked, the game became much more enjoyable. Overall, a very original project, especially for a solo developer!

Wow !! Excellent game ! An impressive project made from scratch by one dev, the Game design is very cool, the idea of returning into your memories is trully great. The plot gave me goosebumps. It took me a while to understand how to accuse someone else, since the UI isn't really obvious, and the text of the dialogue coming from the grate disappears a bit too soon for the player to read it calmly (I'm a bit of a slow reader in your defense haha). Other than that the game is awesome, a true 10/10. I can see an evolved version of it where you can discover new things modifying your memories such as witnessing the crime itself, and then realising it was just your imagination. I had a great moment playing your game, thank you !

Thank you!))

answers becoming the level you walk through is one of the smartest theme takes ive seen so far, and synthesising every sound procedurally with no audio files is showing off. dialog writing has real voice too. quality solo work

Developer

Thank you very much! I’m incredibly exhausted and so glad that someone is playing! )))
