How does your game fit the theme?
Word Jam is a rhythm word game where you speak the words on the screen after a 3-2-1 countdown prompt. Can you say the words on beat with the music without getting tongue-tied?

I always messes up in medium... Well packaged game for a party, great style, using a trend and turning into a game, great job!
Haha, the Medium stage trips everybody up :) Glad you liked it, thanks for playing!
It felt like there was a gun held to my head, BUT I think I had fun.
That was very enjoyable to watch! You both had great energy. Thanks guys!! :D
Super creative and really funny. I was so bad at the game but it brought a big smile to my face. Some how I got a good score. Very polished. Fantastic job!
Thank you so much, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for playing :)
This is such a unique take on rhythm games, it's lovely!
Thinking in another language doesn't help being good at it but the idea and the cute execution is delightful, very well done :)
Thank you so much, glad you liked it! I did consider localization, where the images would make sense for that native language. Perhaps in a future iteration if I continue development :)
I saw you had a rhythm game too... Bummer, I don't have a PC :( If you ever release a Mac download I want to try it!
I looked it up, and it seems that you can only package Mac games if you have a Mac, sorry :/
The idea of using one’s voice to control a video game hadn’t occurred to me. Since it’s quite a famous meme, a major plus is that people can usually play it without needing an explanation of the rules.
I've been wanting to attempt a rhythm game, and this was the first thing that came to mind. Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for playing!
Fun and enjoyable! I guess the images are chosen in a way where their words rhyme, that makes it confusing to pronounce under pressure :D
Yep, it's intentional to make you trip on your words. Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for playing!
CAT CAT CAT HAMSTER CAT HAMSTER HAMSTER CAT
You win!!! :D
Really nice concept, I love games that are aware that players can be part of the structure a game has. :) The rhythm reminded me a lot of Patapon ^^ even though the gameplay was way different
Thanks for playing! I've never heard of Patapon... I'll have to check it out now :)
Very polished! Can't give a high Creativity score, but visuals were nice
Thanks for playing, glad you enjoyed it!
nice polish, especially for your first GMTK!
Thanks so much! I enjoyed the process and have a better sense in the future for how to plan it better :)
As polished and good looking as this game is, I cannot give it a very high score for creativity especially, as this is not a unique concept. Good work on the overall package though! I played it on stream and gave my opinions on the uniqueness of it here: https://www.twitch.tv/nebsterlive
Ahh! Bummed I missed the stream. Thanks for taking the time to play and cover my game.
The viral challenge was definitely the inspiration, but I built on it by creating my own word-pattern algorithm, musical arrangements with varied pacing, animations, multiplayer support, and scoring system to turn it into more of a complete game experience.
Thanks again for giving it a try!
Nice party game!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it :)
Brilliant idea for a game, even without proper scoring it's still a lot of fun. This is a better party-style game than basically all of the recent jackbox's. Great submission :)
Thank you so much!! Maybe I'll pitch it to Jackbox and see what they say hahaha. Thanks for playing!
The design fits perfectly with the idea, and I can definitely see myself play such games on the couch with my friends. Great job!
Awesome! I think based the comments it leans more party game than single player, but glad you enjoyed it!
Very fun party game, but I would suggest letting players pick their own package, or pick one the other person has to do!
Great idea! I had intended to put in a custom level but ran out of time. Will work on it on the next iteration. Thanks for playing and streaming - it was fun to watch :)
Great aesthetic, music, and general concept. Would definitely be sick once you get some voice to text in there!
Thank you! Agreed, I've got to get the speech-to-text mechanic down, and this would be a really competitive party game. Thanks for playing!
Loved the art and the aesthetic. Looks like an education game that kids would absolutely love. I wasn't sure how of if I was playing it right though. Am I missing something?
Nope! You did it right. There's no feedback. I wanted to have voice to text to capture scoring but ran out of time. You just say the word as it highlights in green on the beat. Thanks for playing!
Great SFX! great party game.
Thank you! Thanks for playing!
Hah, this had me laughing out loud. So tricky but so fun. A great party game concept that reminded me of WarioWare.
Glad you enjoyed it! It does get a bit frenetic towards the end. Thanks for playing!
Great proof of concept for a party game! I think its success would hinge upon your ability to actually grade people’s voices.
Thanks again for streaming! It was a delight watching it played :)
