How does your game fit the theme?
The game uses an ATB system : a countdown that determines when you can act. You have several ways to manipulate both countdowns: your own and your opponent's

What a game, I love the cat paw cursor, the countdown mechanic is interesting, and the gameplay is fun. But there are some issues I've noticed during my play - The fights are way too slow, and not because of the countdown mechanic but because of the lack of offensive options and the enemy ability to heal (Im talkin about the raccoon fight). Currently there is a lot of cards that kind of do nothing, I get the idea of rerolling the dices and playing the right attacks at the right time, but somehow for me the fights took ages. Another thing, this game could really use creating it's own deck, I know this is a game jam, but I feel like the fight against hamster even though it is marked as easy is WAY harder then raccoon, our deck has no counterplay to the enemy, there is no interactions, you just patiently wait till the enemy generates dices and then destroys you with a gun, adding at least one crad that adds a dice to the dice pool would help this fight a lot (Or there was a card like this and I'm very dumb). Reading the enemy cards could be a little more easier, I feel like I need to reach very far with the coursor to read all of them fully. Sorry if this sounded like some rant, but I really liked the game, I just feel it is better to say what is wrong than to say what is right. This game could really be a game You can publish.

Oh don't worry, I don't take your comment as a rant ! I am well aware the balance of the game is all over the place, I wanted to show possibilities with multiple fights rather than having one singular tight fight with only a few cards available.

Having a whole game to have the possibility of making a deck is absolutely what would make the mechanics shine ! But as you know, time goes fast during a game jam and I didn't want to overscope

Yeah in this regard both fights were very different and their ideas were interesting. An I appreciate that the gameplay has a lot of things to keep an eye on, so the countdown on the cards is also helpful, now that I think, adding cards that can change the cards stack could be interesting mechanic and archetype. Since there is a stall card, it could be an enabler for something interesting. Nonetheless, with such mechanics this game has a lot of potential

Really fun game! I was actually told to check out your game cuz it was apparently similar to mine, but wow this is so polished -- it has a lot of mechanical depth already with great art and visuals, great job!

I couldnt get audio settings to work, but everything else was tops! great work!

Incredibly fun; at first I struggled a lot with the easy difficulty but managed to clear the medium and hard difficulties on my first try :D

The artwork is super cute, and the UI is very polished (There was even a confirmation progress bar when I hit Escape to exit the game!)

Some of the cards could do with a bit more balancing (especially the Timing card; I think it’s a bit OP at the moment, especially if you combine it with cards that add time to the opponent’s countdown clock).

Overall though, I really liked the game and the wide variety of cards you managed to design in only 4 days!

very thematic. quite fun whilst remaining simple to understand. bar the audio being quite loud I can't really think of any useful feedback. It seemed to have done everything quite well

This is a very fantastic game to play and I particularly love the twist of counting down on the turn base genre itself :DD!

Even though I feel that the cards are a bit unbalanced (like a few cards that is too hard to play without much pay-off)

I feel like if we are able to build our own deck, the battles would be really fun.

Again, a lot of amazing potential and a really fun game overall. Great works!

Also do tell me if you decided to continue exploring this idea. Would love to play this as a full-fletched game on Steam :DD!

The game does a great job with its camera work, color palette, and interactive details.

Such a unique game, and extremely enjoyable to play! I wish there were a way to customize your deck, because there were several cards I never needed to play and sometimes I struggled to get the cards that actually dealt damage, but other than that, it was great! I would totally love to see you expand on this concept.

This was a great game to play. The mechanics and timer were well designed. I was thinking it would be nice to be able to queue actions for when your timer runs out so you can strategise whilst waiting for your turn. Great job to the cats for their contributions to the game as well

The cooldown system is fun, though I'd appreciate it if it's more structured rather than a real-time game with literal seconds of cooldown. The game's graphic and music is very cool, but waiting for a real timer to count down(ey!) kinda take away from that. Still a very creative take on the theme nonetheless tho, good job!

Does the CATB have a moustache as a tribute? touché. I like how you've used the ATB system in your game, and the characters add personality to the cards and gameplay as well. GG.

I've definitely not seen anything like this before.
Go as soon as your cooldown is over, sort of real-time, but feels turn based.
I quite like the idea; but I still don't think I've got the hang of it - I just keep waiting longer than I need to, or trying to act rapid fire.
The habits from Yugioh games - don't nothing for ages, then do everything all at once - are too ingrained in me.
XD

Two things that I personally would liked changed:
1) can we drag from the draw pile to draw? we drag for literally everything else, so this is a little confusing as an anomaly;
2) there were a lot of visual cues for this, but I would like to be explicitly told that I am playing as the cat - I thought the game was multiplayer until a few turns into my first non-tutorial game.

A very well polished real-time card game. I can imagine a lot of possibilities for new dice and cards.

I really liked the way the stacking working and how you had a timer to essentially use the enemies card to setup your own plays that worked extremely wall with the dice system!

However I found a lot of my time drawing cards just ended up being cards that can't really be used to help me. Seemed like I mainly got a lot of the 'reroll dice' cards which could cause me to stalemate.

I had two ideas that I thought would be cool to see if you polish this up!
-I think the idea of the draw/discard timer being separate from the play timer could lead to a bit more of a hectic and responsive play feel but I also see it could cause some issues with the 'cost' of playing cards when you're drawing

-Also had the idea that maybe starting out hands with just a few cards could help get things rolling at the start of a match

All around I really enjoyed this one and most of the art just being stock photos warmed my heart. Just a certain charm to it

Really fun game – the interaction mechanics are fresh.
At first I had no clue what to do, but after a few losses I got the hang of it.
That said, it's tough to strategize when you don't know what's in the deck. The cards that involve rolling dice eat up time without doing much.
I'd love it if the whole deck were just 'Strike' (lol).

At first I was a bit lost on how the game worked, but quickly figured it out, and wow it's fun. I love the fact that you can easily be overwhelmed by cards so you have a lot of room to strategize. Against the bear I used the card that let me discard all my cards to give time to my opponent, when I had at least fifteen cards in my hand, which gave the bear 80 seconds of cooldown. It was a easy win after that, especially thanks to the great combo that makes damage based on the opponent's remaining time :)

Overall it was really fun and addictive, the gameplay works really well.

Sometimes I had trouble reading the cards because the paw would get in the way, but that's a minor nitpick, especially since it's so fun to control a paw instead of a mouse.

Congrats!

Amazingly creative game holy moly. Using timers instead of mana as a resource in a card game is super fun and interesting. I wonder if this mechanic could translate to a tabletop game? Idk about the logistics, but it would be insane levels of fun to do this in person with 3-4 people at the same time!

Also absolutely love the art and the cats :)

from one cat game to another :)

great work. I enjoyed playing

it’s pleasant, but overall chaotic, and because of that you don’t feel like you have a strong influence on the game. Interesting concept that time is the currency. But after putting a 10+ second block on yourself, it’s not much fun to wait

Skillfully made card game system. Game looks good and it the game feel of interacting with the cards is on point.  Playing a match felt a bit lackluster, because you end up with a lot of dud cards and rarely draw damaging cards, but I can see the potential if I was able to build my deck.
