very cool sfx and creative concept, love the tile's art and the grid environment feels very comfy. well done!
I am taken aback by how polished this game is, I especially love the SFX - each one feels intentional and responsive. I would love to see this develop more after the game jam, nice work!
I love love love this game! The UI and design is SO smooth, almost makes me wish this game was all UI, but the 3D tiles are really satisfying to interact with too! The audio is really great for the interactive elements as well. Great work, I'll be checking out more of your games : )
Excellent puzzle game, the tiles are elaborate and the camera move is perfect. The difficulty ramp up is well calibrated. I wish I was better at differentiating ceramic vs glazed tiles. Memorable entry!
insanely criative game! i´m stunned! the visuals are amazing as well, though it´s a little tough to see what type of tile they are, and sometimes i moved a tile unintentionally while trying to select another. nonetheless it´s an incredible entry for the jam! (,; ⩌ ;,)
Fantastic visual to this game! Reminded me of the board game Azul for some reason. Was a bit hard to visually see what value each tile had at first, but then I saw that you put some stylish numbered dots on the side of the tiles, neat! But would have been nice to have that in the help-section :)
Was a bit too easy to make accidental moves since the tile you recently used is not deselected after a move. I think just deselecting all tiles after each move would work a bit better.
Other than that, very polished and quite difficult little brain-teaser of a game! Make more levels and some QoL stuff and you could release this as a full game! Would love it on my phone haha!
Fantastic work! :)
The visuals.. stunning. The sound design.. wonderful. The game loop.. great. One suggestion I'd like to make is to unselect all tiles after placement, as I found myself clicking away after each move to make sure I don't place a tile unintentionally, but that could just be my play style. Overall really nice entry and something I could see as a mobile game due to the coziness and casualness of it. Fantastic job!
Edit: Just read your description on the game's title... nice way to showcase artist Losa Criolla's work! (I learned something new)
Thank you so much for playing! We plan to iron out some of the kinks with the movement after the jam, you definitely aren't alone with automatically selecting the tiles. And Losa Criolla is actually a style of ceramic tile traditionally made in the Caribbean region (like Puerto Rico), not a single artist :) For our game we referenced those design and created our own interpretations of them!
Gorgeous art and perfect color choices! :D
You should be so proud, this is incredibly polished for such a short dev window.
Congrats! <3
I loved everything about the game, but it was hard to know which tile was which number.
Thanks for playing! In the future we want to add a more digestible tutorial to hopefully help with the tile numbers. We wanted to show the numbers on the tile similar to pips on a die, but we also wanted to have nice designs and colors for each of the tiles. In the end the numbers didn't turn out the clearest, but through our future puzzle design we can hopefully minimize the confusion about the tiles :)
The mechanic is promising, but I was a bit confused on which tile does what, and the help screen could have worded this in a better way. Also, this game would really benefit from an undo feature - there were cases where I either thought my move was bad or that I moved a tile and then I accidentally moved it again, while I was trying to select a different tile (which I think is also another problem). Restarting the whole level to correct one move is, in my opinion, a very bad thing for a puzzle game.
The visuals and the audio was great though. Good luck!
Yes I absolutely agree with you, if we had time we definitely would have added an undo button. It was also just a bad combination with the auto selection of the previously moved tile, which caused a lot of people to accidentally move the wrong tile. In the future after the jam we plan to fix the movement and add more helpful features like an undo! Thanks for your feedback!
I have some feedback regarding the controls.
Allow the player to freely move their camera (maybe with their middle mouse button).
Also, once an action is performed, please automatically deselect the initial tile, cause it's very easy to accidentally move a tile while you want to move the other.
Thanks for the feedback! For the camera, you can hold right click and pan the mouse to move it around. We can add a controls tutorial to the game in the future to make it more obvious. In terms of the movement, we plan to remove the auto selection when moving a tile after the jam to make it harder to accidentally move the wrong tile. Thanks for playing!
I was a little confused by the controls and how the tiles interacted with each other. It made a little more sense after reading the instructions but I wish it were more intuitive. The tile designs were really nice, and the clinking was satisfying!
The best game I have played in the Jam so far!! Everything from the art to the music to the level design is so well done. I was having some trouble understanding the values of the tiles and how the game worked, but once you understand, the game offers some very good puzzles.
