Incredibly creepy!

Developer

Thanks!

very morkborgy and veri scifi without losing any allure of both, and a better rpg scenario than mosto of mork borg gig. Nice, dark and twisted

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much!

The science-fantasy elements incorporated into a Morkborg adventure are very cool, excellent theme. Some really nice procedures are included to support the narrative. This is very ambitious for the page count limits of this jam, I think it wants to be expanded and breathe a little more. Just need to collect a little more complex biomass...

Thank you!

Excellent layout and art. Love the writing. I feel the comparison with a Twilight Zone episode is spot on. I can almost hear Rod Serling narrating the module!

Submitted(+1)

Really dig the writing and structure of this one. Feels both very Morky Borgy yet very distinct and delightfully strange and gruesome. Getting more of a Shadowdark feel from the art and layout but that's not necessarily a bad thing!

Developer(+1)

Thanks!

Love the creativity and the design. Can't wait to run it when I have time!

Developer(+1)

Thank you!

I applaud your ability to have such a clean layout right next to some of the most skin-crawling text I’ve read yet in over 60 reviews lol

This is such a great module, very BORGy, while still seeming like a Twilight Zone episode. My favorite bits were the transformation class(?) and the Artifact roll tables. Great job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! I really wanted the Silent Monk to be a whole class you turned into and then you'd continue to play as that. The space was so tight that it is implied rather than explicitly stated and explained in detail. Glad you picked up on that.

Side note: I have a post about my thoughts behind the Black Egg Artifact table(s) going up at Exeunt Omnes on Wednesday. ;)

Submitted(+1)

You’re very welcome, and I look forward to reading the blog (as I often do)!

I read the class as like a prestige, that you stack on top of your own. Some buffs, and some downsides- really adding some creep flavor to a SCVM band that isn’t necessarily too far out there lol

Great module, fits well into Mörk Borg while having perfect zonecore vibes! Thanks for spreading the term, too, I've loved much of the source materials for ages and now I have a name for them!

Thank you!

Thank you so much to everyone for their kind words and ratings! To make it easier to download/rate, Cemetery of the Silent Monks is now freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee during the duration of the rating period.

ooh zonecore, i like it

Developer

Thanks!

Developer

Speaking of zonecore, you might like the TTRPGs at the bottom of this too: https://omnes.exeunt.press/p/what-is-zonecore

This is great stuff! Love the real explanation of why the Black Egg is there. Also love the artifact generator.

Developer(+1)

Thank you!

Submitted(+1)

Very gross and fun. I like the artifact generation tables and the systems and mechanics you've included here. I wish there were pictures of locations, because the descriptions are so alien (rightly so) that it was a bit hard to imagine at points.

Developer

Thank you! Yeah, it's a tight space and I didn't have access to custom art for this one. Would be a great idea for an expanded zine version though!

Submitted(+1)

Very much a banger. That random treasure generator in particular is unsettling

Developer(+1)

"Unsettling" is the best compliment you could give. Haha :) Thank you!

Submitted(+1)

Sphincters, milking, digestion, and body horror, oh my! This adventure has wonderfully grotesque imagery, but leaves out just enough detail for our imagination to fill in the blanks with something personally upsetting. Bravo! I love the A6 layout, it makes me want to print it as a little pocket adventure. Excellent work!

Developer

Haha, thank you! It didn't seem so bad until you listed it all out like that. :)
I had some prints made of it and they look great. Will be available on the shop in September for the #MÖRKTOBER prompt preview. ;)

Developer

Just because it might get lost in the comments below:

There are free community copies available! Please take one and leave a rating if so inclined!

Submitted(+1)

This is still getting lost and I almost missed it and skipped out on rating it. I know multiple people who started with theirs being paid and providing community copies and ended up just making it free for the judging period because of this.

Developer(+1)

Probably the right call. I just made it freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!! :)

Submitted(+1)

Brilliant. I was inspired by this competition to buy Mork Borg and will run this as my first adventure!

Developer

Wow! Thank you!!!  Would love to hear how it goes!

Great premise, excellent art + layout, perfectly written, extremely usable and it truly captures the vibe of this jam. Its obvious that you had a vision and you executed on it perfectly. A lot of other adventures in this jam left me wanting more, as if their designers needed more space to explore their ideas. Your entry left me very satisfied.  Very impressive stuff :)

Developer

Thank you so much! It was hard to pack it all into the (self-imposed) A6 limitation, but I think it worked. Thanks!

Weird to say for something full of some gnarly stuff but the design (visual and gameplay) is just so clean. The black egg concept is really great too…I would’ve ruined it with egg puns.

Developer(+1)

I left the egg puns to be provided by the players. They would be an insufferable amount of puns if I played this with my group! :)
Thank you!!

Submitted(+1)

This exceptionally good! Great layout and art. Cool creepy vibes. Super playable. Reminds me a bit of  Killer Klowns from Outer Space.

Developer

Thank you! I've heard of Killer Klowns from Outer Space but never watched it. I'll need to at least read a plot/spoiler online.

Submitted(+1)

And I will check out your actual touchstones  (Roadside Picnic / Stalker as you shared on bluesky) :D

Developer

I loved Roadside Picnic so much! Stalker (film) wasn’t for me, but many love it.

In the words of Danny devito once said “I’m gonna get real weird with it” slams this catagory in approx n jam!  Worthy adventure to get weird with it.

Developer(+1)

Thank you!
