Woah, the sound design alone. Superb!!

I like the accessibility option for people with dyslexic

Love the art style, very cute!!

Submitted(+1)

ooh, the sound design makes this one really satisfying

A very good game for one person, this game is worth Playing for everyone. The theme is appropriate and even the cats are cute. I really liked the sound and gameplay mechanics, it's unusual. I played it from my phone and defeated one enemy! It was really a lot of fun And exciting, If you have time, rate my game and I will be very glad to hear your feedback. Good luck!

Absolutely excellent game! Can only really repeat what's been said below, but I had a ton of fun with this one, and it had me completely locked in from start to finish.

Great style, oh so juicy typing and cool take on the theme, fantastic job!

Developer

Thank you! That's very kind and i'm glad you enjoyed it!

Submitted(+1)

That's a very fun game. I love the idea and the execution. Not sure if I got the theme interpretation, though. Also loved the effects and the sounds!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!

My thinking on it was that jousting is just charging at one another. I'd liked to have included some actual gameplay elements that revolved around charging, perhaps typing in a few words within the time to increase power or similar. As it always goes though I'm often stuck with some programming issue for longer than I think and then, poof, times up.

Submitted(+1)

Oh, that makes perfect sense; it was my mistake. I'm not a native speaker, and that particular meaning of the word "charge" just didn't come to mind at the time 😅 I'll update the rating!

Developer

Hah! No stress, It happens!

Amazing entry. I loved the SFX; the sounds were so satisfying! It was also a good level of challenge too. I think my only feedback would be to have keyboard controls in the shop. Other than that, great game!

Developer(+1)

I really wish I'd finished the keyboard shop controls now! Its been the biggest piece of feedback I've had!

Thanks for the feedback bruv 👍

Great job and great execution! I really enjoyed this one found myself playing it all the way through.  Some general comments:

  1. The sound effects are VERY satisfying
  2. As a dyslexic, thanks for including a dyslexic font for the words
  3. I really enjoyed the scaling of the game's difficulty
  4. The SFX volume slider doesn't have any audio feedback when interacted with, it would be nice to have something so the player knows if the setting is correct
  5. it would be nice to have keyboard controls for the shop as to not have to switch hands off the keyboard and use the mouse for selections
  6. The rules per match is tucked away to the side and wasn't immediately apparent
  7. There are accessibility notes to be had on the color and missing letter challenges.  It's more worth noting upfront rather than changing, as these sections would be near impossible for those players

Thank you so much for the VOD. Very insightful to watch!
All great points you've raised!

I wish I’d done the SFX volume feedback, as i remember back on my first GWJ you commented the same! And i had been taking the advice!(sometimes) Until literally this jam when i forget to do it...

Shop buttons were also on my list, sadly got a bit tangled up in my poor programming/planning and ended up forgetting about it until after the jam was over.

If I’ve taken anything from this jam.. Start writing down my damn tasks.

Thank you again for the great feedback and the VOD, it means a lot to see someone put genuine time into something you've made. Thank you.
Edit: Your comment on seeing the drunk type made me chuckle. It is very unfair on someone with dyslexia, after I’ve just tried to accommodate them. " Here's a font, but now have a really messed up word! Good luck! "

Everything felt so chilled until I hit the boss, then I realised I had to lock in. The colours round was nasty too!

Beautifully polished game and really fun to play!

Developer

Thanks you for the feedback and for trying it out! Much appreciated.

Big Boss Benny is no normal fella!

Awesome job with this. I enjoyed all the level twists, and the SFX + details in the animations really added to the game. Gonna have to try out that Universal Transition Shader, it looks quite nice!

One thing that caught me initially was the "jumbled" levels. For the longest time my brain was convinced I had to unjumble the word. Once I realized you needed to type the displayed jumble verbatim it was all good though haha.

Super fun + cute game, congrats :)

LOVE THIS GAME! The random challenges are so fun! It would be nice to be able to buy the upgrades with the keyboard so I don't have to use my mouse at all.

Thanks for the feedback!
Agggh it was on the list of things to do! I forgot about it on the last day!

This was really fun. Very impressed with the different ways you need to type, though I found the jumbled letter particularly brutal. I felt like I typed a word with the letters but it wasn’t recognized. Maybe it wasn’t the correct word? I was a little confused why I couldn’t close the shop after opening, but since clicking space bar till progressed that was easy enough to figure out. Really nice work over all!

Thanks for the feedback, it's much appreciated! I'd noticed that typing bug a few times but couldn't pinpoint/ran out of time on how to fix it. It's something to do with typing too fast/errors not clearing quick enough from the text input box, i think.

Submitted(+1)

I really liked this game, typing comes easy to me so making it into a game that I actually want to play (I'm looking at you NitroType) was a great experience

Developer

Cheers, i'm glad to hear you enjoyed it!

I have bested Benny. Art is great, but the sound effects are really what does it for me. Typing in a letter just feels good. Eventually became fabulously wealthy and word length aside some of the later levels felt a bit same-y, but I had a good time.

I was excited to get "lasagne." Cause you know, cats.

Developer

Play testing wise, i didn't get a big opportunity to do a lot of it towards the end, so it does end up feeling a bit samey with practically no balance to the difficulty/rewards at all.

Still, it was interesting to work on and I’m glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for the great feedback.

So Juicy! Great work making the typing so satisfying!

Absolutely amazing. Great gimmicks, the game kept surprising me at every other stage. The presentation is literally what I aspire to be able to make some day. No notes, amazing job, like I expected, this deserves to win for sure!

Developer

That's incredibly kind of you to say, Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!

Incredible Game, Big fan of typing games every now and then and this hit the spot. The story mode was super cool with all of the weird gimmicks some of those hidden vowel words are tough. I then tried an endless run and got 1323. The only things I didn't like were, there shouldve been a sound for buying an upgrade from the shop and in the endless mode Difficulty 5 is easier than Difficulty 4, my guess is because diff 4 is only hard words whereas diff 5 is all words so you end up getting a lot of short words. Overall an incredible job, visuals, audio, gameplay, gamefeel, stunning.

Developer

Thanks for the kind feedback!

Yeah, in regards to the levels in Endless mode, i'm not really sure why i did that. It was almost in the 11th hour that i made the change, and i even questioned it as i was doing it... but left it in anyway.

Thanks for trying it out and the kind words. Glad you enjoyed it
