Remember to stay hydrated and take breaks!

Feel free to share your excitement about your projects so long as you're not giving away the whole game idea!

I'm personally really stoked! I might even finish the majority of the gameplay loop today! Assuming I'm not unlucky atleast

No, I didn't start working on art or sound. And yes, the gameplay loop has taken me 3 days so far lol

Will likely have to add the element for the theme either tonight or tomorrow

I got unlucky ;-;

Got half of what I needed to do today done and then got stuck for hours fixing a game breaking bug that seems to have been caused by Godot sometimes renaming things when nodes are reparented

But hey, I got a shop mechanic working, added new items, added a new functional type of item class, added train stations that the train automatically stops at every x amount of units, and now I just gotta give the train stations their functional purpose, which includes NPCs, which means I can finally start adding in the theme and half of the main gameplay, at day 4...

Definitely feeling the pressure on day 3, time is really flying by at this point, fingers crossed we can do everything we had in mind without needing to cut out content

I'm already expecting having to sacrifice less important features I wanted, like a color swap shader for player character customization

I may have time for the shader, but it's near useless without a menu to control it.

I still have at least one more enemy I really want to implement,
I definitely need to spend a full day on  VFX/SFX and the entire dialogue system, maybe too ambitious but I think I can cram it into one day

In my experience, "I think I can cram it into one day" ends up taking 2-3 days 馃

Y'all aren't just spending an hour or two a day working on a small game? God damn didn't know this was such a competition

Submitted

Nope! :'). A lot of people, including myself, spend several hours every day of the week. No strategy is better, but I personally like the challenge of making a larger game that takes more time. I also like to be productive, and I work very well under pressure. My game jam games are always quite ambitious, but I think it's well worth it! That's just me though.

Feeling a bit nervous since I'm not going to be able to do it for the rest of the week so I'm speedrunning release.

I honestly forgot about the game jam and just started my game lol 馃槶

Doing good. I don't think I'm gonna finish the entire game when the jam is over. I haven't finished the prototype yet, but it's getting there.
