SERIOUSLY IMPRESSIVE.

i did somehow manage to softlock myself at the very end of  the parkour challenge of torment, but I had a good time up to that point.

had a lot of fun with this game! Good job on it! Good luck with the jam too <3

Submitted(+1)

This is probably my favorite jam game so far, I love the mechanics and controls, the audio is on point, the fact that you made a storyline was amazing. I am wondering if it is possible to actually finish the final level.

I genuinely hope you win, this was a very good game

(BTW I also thought that the battery was a sausage)

Developer

Thank you so much! It is so nice to see so many positive reactions. I wonder how I can de-sausageify the battery now. :P

Submitted

sorry to bug again, but is it possible to complete the last level?

Developer(+1)

No, it's meant to kill you no matter what. I had intended for separate endings but didn't have time!

Submitted (1 edit)

there is no mobile control :( but from the very beginning I liked the menu and effects, I won't be able to evaluate it and I won't give a bad rating for it, but I already like the game :) If you have time, rate my project and I will be very happy to thank you in advance. Good luck!

Super cool concept and cheeky dialogue, good experience overall! The level 5 bug unfortunately soft-locked me as well but great execution regardless

Developer

Oh dang I thought I fixed that. If you set your monitor refresh to 60hz it should work fine

Submitted(+1)

I enjoyed the game, it is unique. I just couldn't get past level 5.

Developer

Thank you for playing! I definitely will be toning down the difficulty post game jam.

The graphics, music and sound effects are awesome! The pitter patter of the little guy's feet is so satisfying lol
I loved the dialogue, the puzzle aspects and the unique "charging = death" motif/mechanic, very interesting take on the jam theme.
The timing was challenging for me though (purely a skill issue on my end). I couldn't get past level 2, 3, or 5, even though I really wanted to see how the story played out :(

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! I'm really glad you like it. I am working on a post jam version that tones down the difficulty, since a lot of players are having the same issues.

Submitted(+1)

I loved this, the level design was super clever and a great way to make use of the theme while also harnessing it to write a really interesting and compelling story. I was really rooting for the lil guy <3

Developer

Thank you! Your words mean a lot. I am glad you enjoyed it

Graphics are really well polished and the idea is cool. I would've liked if it leaned more into being a puzzle game, rather than time trials. I found the movement to be floaty and slippery which didn't feel very good. for example, changing direction takes almost half a second was quite hard to handle, given the timed nature of levels. Music and sounds were great too!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing! This is really good feedback.
I had envisioned this as more of a puzzle game, myself, but it turns out designing good puzzles is actually really freaking hard. :P

Submitted

Lol yeah it is!

Submitted

i cant beat level 2 idk how but i would still rate this game 5 star

Developer

Thank you for giving it a try! Just so you know, only the orange levels are required to advance the story. You can safely skip 2 and keep going.

Submitted(+1)

Love the little expression! At first, I thought the main hero was a sausage XD

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for playing! I can't unsee the sausage now so thanks for that :)

Haha, you鈥檙e welcome! 馃槃

A nice puzzle with a cute ... battery? I love the battery theme and dialog. The puzzles are fun and make it even more likeable. As for the platformer part, I would wish for a bit more pecision.

Developer

Thanks so much! I appreciate the feedback.

Well, that ending was eerie. Loved it, as well as all the scripted events and dialogues.

Level 5 does need a review, the next levels were extremely easy after that (even though it's the one I had the most fun with!). Speaking of, I also had that bug. Setting refresh rate to 60 made it work.

Developer

Thank you for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Just FYI the game has been patched and the level 5 bug is fixed. (I hope)

Submitted

Very fun and challenging game! But I'm curious: why does different refresh rate disable the trigger on Level 5? It doesn't seem like a bug that would be related to the refresh rate

Developer

I have an an object that takes and holds a charge, but there's a delay built in so I can time things out. So, when the player hops in the charge port at the end of the hall, it charges one of those delayed charges, which is set to charge in 0.7 seconds.. except that the lerp function that counts up to 0.7 was not frame rate dependent (didn't use delta). I set the charge port to discharge really really fast, so, when the framerate is higher than 60, the delay is charged for some number less than 0.7, and so doesn't reach charged state (at which point is was configured to stay on). If the frame rate is 60, it gets charged long enough to go to on state and stay on.

Submitted

interesting, thank you for the detailed breakdown!

This game is great, my favorite level was level 10. I know the music stopping after level 11 wasn鈥檛 intentional and all, but it really adds to the game. :) 10/10 would play again

Developer

I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for playing

Submitted

Cool game and I loved the music & art style... I wanted to complete the game but on level 5 it is challenging I need to be fast enough... I'll try again :)

Submitted (1 edit)

I loved this but no matter what I do I have no idea how to get past level 5 there is just a wall and the music changes, and I cannot move forward after putting another poor battery in the charging station when I respawn on the upper floor. I cannot jump over the wall am I just stupid it is highly likely lol but good job regardless

Developer

Can you share a screenshot of the part you're talking about? Having a hard to figuring out what part of the stage has you stuck. It kind of sounds like a bug.

Developer

The part where the music changes there should be 3 platforms that pop up like steps right after you spawn in. The game saves your state, so if you reload the page you can continue from level 5. Let me know if that fixes things for you!

Submitted (1 edit)

I didn't see the platforms but I will try it again if it happens I will take the screenshot :D

Developer

So it has to do with refresh rates. I have a patch ready but am waiting on a support ticket. If you can set your monitor refresh rate to like 60hz and try again you should be able to get past that part.

Submitted

this is the image regardless I hope it helps I cannot go further than that

Submitted

I changed the refresh rate to 60 now I am stuck here

Developer(+1)

The timing is pretty tight.. I've always had a hard time tuning difficulty for jam games! Something that might help is you can use the moving platforms at the start to get a jump boost if you time it right, and get a little ahead of the track.

Submitted

I gave up unfortunately if you change that section I will play it after the jam great game anyways

Submitted(+1)

really liked the game! it proved to me two things, 1: as long as you spend enough time, you can begin to feel bad for a little battery not wanting to die and 2: torture is fun as long as you get different dialogue

the controls can be a little difficult at times (the long elevator level with the eyes got me good) and I really hope the last level has a good ending, I don't wanna leave my little buddy dead like that

really good game, would torture little buddy again

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for playing all the way through! Good ending was scrapped for time.. But maybe in an update ;)
