Very unique game! I was very confused at first, not sure what I was looking for with each option. I wish there was a little more direction on that in the tutorial part. For example, with the magnifying glass, I was very confused for the first 5 or so times when nothing was happening. I thought that maybe I'd have to click something or move the magnifying glass around. It was only after awhile that I realize that things can show up there. But the art is very amazing and I can see the game loop becoming addicting with some polish. Good job!
Great job on that entry, loved the background, the chara design as well, you can see the efforts put in there, great gameloop as well, congrrats to 4 of you !!
Very fun lil game! Was a little lost looking for the close button on the talk and search tho lol personal problem was looking in the right corner lol. Well done!
Very nice game (: The theme gave me Sims vibes and fit very well with the settings. I thing the game could be simplified with less options (I got a bit confused) and I would probably add some SFX for clicking and talking with people. Cool game overall!
Stressful? yes. Enjoyable? yes. On theme? yes. can see this being a nice little game like that one with passport checking (forgot its name) but game needs some balance to feel less oppressive
ngl the timers stressed me out so I couldn't play it well. The idea is good, and the the art and audio are great.
I think the environment art and grocery art added a lot in terms of interest and visual story telling, leaving interpretation up to the player rather than the game explaining it, which I much prefer.
For gameplay, it initially seemed like a lot at once but then I figured out I didn't need to do anything other than "inspect for shoplifting". There didn't seem to be any incentive to helping the customer, keeping an eye on the store inventory, or inspecting customer carts. And as far as I could tell after completing day 3, gameplay did not change from day to day.
Thanks so much for the detailed feedback! Our original scope had a lot more going on- such as calling for the manager, police, and even storylines as to why certain customers may be stealing, but unfortunately for time we had to scope down so final gameplay is more monotonous than we'd hoped for.
Hopefully we can organise a post-jam update with the team to resolve some of these ^^ :)
I enjoyed the game a lot even though I got robbed so hard lol. The concept is very interesting and I like the art style too. Great work :)
The art is amazing and the music is very up beat and silly! love it! I have been having trouble knowing if someone is shoplifting or not though, so you know half of my shop was stolen from qwq
I love the style of your game! The art looks amazing! At first, I wasn’t sure how to dsitinct if someone had stolen something because every time I checked their pockets, they seemed empty. But then I figured out how it works. It was really fun!
Ngl this game had me stressing trying to keep an eye on everyone at once 😭 I really liked how the “trust no one” theme naturally turns into a deduction mechanic instead of just being part of the story. The pressure from juggling customers while looking for shoplifters was really fun too. Great job y’all!
The game is really fun! I hope we can play together and rate each other's performance!
Loved the music and the art! Reminded me to go to the grocery store fyi lol. Great job!
Check out my game too ! /jam/brackeys-16/rate/4951523
