Funny game and unique concept. For me the most difficult part was probably trying to keep everyone away from spikes. In the end the whole group died in the banana peels room, but it was fun nevertheless!

Such a fun experience, and I love how you interpreted the theme XD Awesome game, keep it up!

(Our game is still a bit short on ratings, so if you've got a sec to leave one we'd really appreciate it :D)

This was really funny. The writing worked really well for me, and I had a surprisingly good time just trying to keep my little group of idiots alive while sending them through the rooms.

At one point I noticed a warrior helmet lying next to a shelf with a pair of feet sticking out underneath it. I genuinely had to stop for a second and process what had apparently happened there.

The presentation is great too. The visuals fit the tone really well, the music is excellent, and the whole thing feels very polished.

And the unexpected ending got another good laugh out of me. Did not see that coming.

Wonderful take on the theme! It was a bit clunky trying to control and corral the goons, but otherwise it's a solid game. Great job!

Well done on making the game so much fun! I got a bit stuck on the ‘Defeat all foes’ stage because I hadn’t realised I had to give the armour to the characters. But it’s a clever idea. The gameplay is really original!
But, is there really 32 people who worked on this game !?

Developer(+1)

i'm glad you enjoyed it! its honestly hard to say how many people worked on it exactly, because there are a lot of people (myself included) who worked on parts of the game that didn't end up getting used, yet there are also people who work on it and don't put their name down for the credits. long story short, yeah.

This seems like an intentionally frustrating game, and that's what's funny about it. I had a good time with this through its concept, visuals, mostly polished gameplay and sense of humour. I feel like the rallying could've worked more consistently or, if it is meant to have a cooldown, show an indicator.

But regardless, 32 people worked on this fun game, and it really shows.

Developer

Honestly, I didn't even know the rallying mechanic was a thing...

My jaw dropped once I saw the credits. And over just 4 days to make the whole thing too, just wow.

Very funny, enjoyable vibe with the anachronistic "old" English, as well as a great take on the theme. However, I feel that, most likely due to the massive size of the development team, it seemed a bit unfocused. For example, did there really need to be an entire volume slider scene with super polished, dynamic animation (although I can't lie it did make me laugh) when all the cutscenes are unskippable plain flashes of white text on a black background?

The game feel could also have used a bit more attention, as picking up and throwing always felt a bit stilted (and tedious to throw each goon into the next room), and the main gameplay loop is very bare.

I feel like I've been a bit negative with this review, but I really do want to emphasize how impressive it is to coordinate so many people in such a short time to make this entire thing. And to do so whilst giving the game a standout identity both in its humor, as well as its fun visuals. Please don't let my negative nancy self diminish that. Great job all!

Aside from being a really unique and fun idea, I was impressed by the polish and the quality of details like the intro that you managed to pull off.

I really enjoyed it; congratulations on the work.

What a feat to coordinate so many people! The game also turned out so juicy! glad I got a chance to play :)

Remarkable to create a game so polished in just a week, especially with so many members. Well done getting such a finished feeling product out.

I liked the concept of gearing up minions and letting them do the fighting while you lead them around. Though the gameplay did get a little repetitive. I also liked the art style and animations which looked really good.

The sound was nice and fit the vibe of the game.

Overall well done on this!

32 men team is wild, like an entire studio.
I enjoyed yeeting my goons in this came, quite creative.

Developer

ty for playing the game!

It was so hard leading 32 people to make a game for the first time, i'm so proud of the team for pulling through

How many people worked on the game??? By the way, you have a nice cat and your team name is great too. I would appreciate it if you could check out my game as well and give a good rating too

Major Castle Crashers vibes and I love it!

The funniest and most consistent writing through out the whole game, UI and everything. Just like the music I had an absolute blast, my lord.

Really enjoyed the comedy (the ??? button was worth pushing). I liked the pikmin style gameplay, it was a great riff on the theme. Music and art were also good! If I could change one thing it would be needing to lockpick and throw all the goons through the door, it got a little tedious haha. But overall, had a blast - great work!

Developer

Hey thank you for this comment! I think you successfully nailed the symptom, but not the thing that caused it. The throwing and lockpicking is intended to be a balancing act between keeping goons alive and processing. We just never QUITE managed to make the traps feel like a real risk, so the throwing is indeed a bit lackluster towards the end! Fully agreed.

Developer

I LOVED YOUR GAME BTW!!!! also thanks for playing ours!

That was a concern we brought up about that mechanic. Also with the lock picking, it was meant to be even more annoying with you team mates interrupting it and getting in the way, they just don't walk up close enough rn lol

Fun fun take on the theme! Comedy was great and the music was groovy :-)

This is awesome. Major Newgrounds vibes!

I adore the presentation of the game, the humour, the visuals.

The only thing I would change is being able to pick up multiple goons at a time, maybe with the downside of them swaying you around and being slower.

But for me, this is one of the more charming entries of this jam!

Blast, foiled by a trapdoor again

Developer

Some how it makes the ending ten times funnier knowing people actually fell for the trap doors.

Thank you so much for playing the game!

The game was nice, a little boring because the levels were repetitive and you were constantly throwing goons, but it was an interesting concept. The music was absolutely perfect, and as for the ending—I didn’t expect that kind of plot twist.

Those ??? after finishing the game—pretty funny.

Bugs: Sometimes when you smash a crate against a wall, the item pops out behind the wall and you can’t pick it up.
