Mindlessly buying objects from your customer will leave you poor, scammed by the cunning. You cant trust anyone as you haggle your way to a more convenient price and inspect the object to really pin them down

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
https://dobo-ui.itch.io/vector-ui-pack from the internet and the text to speech from an older project

Really fun idea, I loved the pawn shop theme and trying to find problems with the items to get the price lower was actually really satisfying. The art also looks great and everything feels pretty polished. After a while it does get a bit repetitive though, I think more items and different customers would make it way better, but overall I had a lot of fun with it!

Good one, nice idea and mechanics, but so repetitive, like i memorized the real price or every item there by day 2

Fun game with some nice visuals, unfortunately it lacks variety in items  and characters which leads to some repetition in the 7 days, but that's expected in the limited time frame of the jam, there was also a item info panel that appears on the right for a moment when i click to inspect that i can't see properly.

Overall a fun experience that i would like to see expanded in the future.

Love the pawn shop theme! The art is great and the inspection mechanic was unique. The game makes me wish we added more money related things into our own game. Thanks for making it!

i'm on a quest to play every pawn shop game submitted to this jam, and yours was an interesting take.

i liked the artstyle, though i didn't like the lack of consistency in the levels of detail of sellers. some seem like placeholders and the seller who appears on the cover of the game's just much more detailed. i think it would've been better to leave them all as polished as the placeholders, cause that way, they wouldn't really feel like placeholders. though i think i understand why this happened, cause one week is indeed a short amount of time and this game was probably pretty demanding in the art department.

but good job! making a good haggling system is complicated and yours is really good. also, the ui is extremely polished.

Interesting. So this does remind me of Dealer's life but you basically only have the buy mechanic. It's certainly unique in the way that you have to play a minigame to discover flaws with which you can haggle sellers down. Then also, the minigame could have a lot more diversity, so it feels like wasted potential here. The gameplay does get pretty bland after Day 1 and I managed to survive by only going to the next seller, so that was also a thing. Theme is there and pretty okay. Overall a nice game.

Love the visuals and music. Would love more items variety. Overall very interesting game.

We added your game in our post mortem, i hope this is okay (itch.io somehow messed up the links to the games)

This is a smart take on the theme. Love the character art. The presentation is overall very polished, but the font is a little too small and the seller info often gets cut off in the text box. This feels like it could definitely work as a full release in the future though. The core loop is really solid.

I recently discovered my love for pawn shop games, so this was right up my alley! ;-)

Not only does the visual style fit a game jam project perfectly, but I am also genuinely a little jealous of your inspect mechanic! The mini-game feels super satisfying to interact with and does a fantastic job of selling what you are actually doing behind the counter.

Cool game! I really enjoyed gameplay and completed whole game! But it seems like some of the ui elements are bugged or sth.

Infinity gauntlet for 350?, The one ring to rule them all for 400? What a steal! Great game!

Very fun game with a lot of variety!

Reminds me a lot of the negotiations in the show Pawn Stars. Really creative take on the theme with the inspection process.

The art and sounds combined very well, it wasn't that easy to jump on another game, weirdly addicting!

Very nice game, found the art very cool and stylized, it was fun trying to see how low I could bargain.
Although I found a bug where I bargained lower then the customer but not to low, the customer would, after I pressed the bargain button a bunch of times, start leaning back more and more, until he was no longer in the screen

Really cool game, I would have liked to see more variation when interacting with people but overall great submission!

Very cool, i can see this 100% getting expanded into a full game and hope it does, very fun game loop and also has room for deeper gameplay. 6 people though nice job on coordination.
