How does the game fit the theme?
The cameras were sold as protection - BIRD FEED is about exposing them as a leash. Trust is broken. Birds aren't real.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
We used some Kenney assets (shout out!), our controller and parts of an experimental UI that we created. Everything else is fresh for the jam.

How many people worked on the game?

I really enjoy graffiti games like Jet Grind Radio and Marc Ecko’s Getting Up. I felt like you tapped into those simple spray painting mechanics but gave them a Backyard Sports kind of cartoon charm. I had a hard time with the camera controls at first, but once I got the hang of them I had a really good time. Good job on the game, and thanks for sharing it!

Cool concept; the graphics and SFX are really well done. It would be great to refine a couple of things:
1. If there's no stamina mechanic, the running feels a bit redundant—players just hold down Shift non-stop, and their finger gets cramped :D

2. Right now, you just left-click to apply paint; there’s no stealth element—you just run around spraying paint, so there’s no sense of tension.

Overall, excellent work! Keep it up!

The default music/sfx sounds are loud, maybe set it to the middle/50%  + on mouse and keyboard the mouse sensitivity is high.

Othervise good game, gave me GTA SA vibes.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback and checking it out. Glad you enjoyed. :D

Very cool concept and execution! The mechanics are cool, I had fun looking for the cameras while using the feeds. The control scheme may need a little work, I tried using the mouse, which was too sensitive, and an xbox controller, which the camera was very slow, but better while sprinting. The big problem for me was, as time went on, the game got framier and framier, and eventually it even froze my pc and I had to restart.. If it helps, I'm playing in Firefox. Really cool and unique take on the theme though!

Developer

Really happy to hear you liked it and very much appreciate the feedback. Yeah, there's a lot to tinker with going forward to get stuff optimized. Thanks again! :D

good job, also goodn streams :)

was kinda hgard to control the intensity of mosue movement, but else great

Nice Game! I would like a way to adjust mouse sensitivity in the settings but overall I had alot of fun! It gets really intense once you got a bunch of cameras to deal with!

Developer

Thanks for checking it! Yes, we ran into so many input problems right at the end there but hope to clean those up before a full release (if we do that!) :D

Submitted(+1)

I like the idea, takes some time to understand the controls, but it's a fun game :)

Developer

Thanks! Hoping an eventual tutorial will help with this. :D

I loved the spray mechanics really cool idea. The game needs some polish but the overall eastetic is really coherent. The movement needs some tune , especially the jump. Overall , great work , keep going !

Developer(+1)

Thanks WhatIdoToday, a pleasure to hang out with you today on stream.

Submitted(+1)

Takes quite a few attempts to get the hang of but once you do its a really fun game! Great job!

Developer

Hey thanks! Yes, this one needs some fine-tuning which we're planning to do more on. Thanks gain for checking it out. :D

I really enjoyed the concept, finding yourself on camera feed and doing some parkour to tag it is rad. However the controls are pretty hard to grasp so I couldn’t win the first level in my 1st 3 attempts which was a bit frustrating :/

Developer

Thanks for playing Kerpith! Yeah, we're planning to do some fix-em-ups on controls and other mechanics. Appreciate you playing and giving feedback.

Very topical and the UI/Graphics were super cool! I wasn’t really sure how to actually play but I did like the overall aesthetic and the “Aw, no! That’s game over, man!” at the end made me smile with how silly and 90’s it felt.

Developer

Hey there raydee! Thanks for checking it out. Definitely still in the experimental build phase and hope to get all engines firing soon.

It was really fun trying to find where the cameras were based on seeing me on them. I really like the art to Kenney goes crazy. The music fit very well too. Great game!

Developer

Thank Optdel! Appreciate the kind words. Cheers!

Loved the concept, it really fits the theme and the current time we live in, i saw someone mentioning flock cams and thats exactly what i was thinking of while playing!

The visuals are really good, the gameplay is nice a bit hard to grasp but i managed to do it after all. Nice job!!

Developer(+1)

Heck yeah! Honored to have you play our game. :D

Submitted(+1)

Very good visuals. Yes I struggled to grasp the controls and what I had to do, but overall it was a nice experience. Keep it up!

Developer

Thanks Gabriel!

I definitely struggled with the controls a bit and there were some interesting audio jolt moments, but after figuring it out I had a good time. AND I LOVE THIS IDEA. The theme is great.. I live in a place with a LOT of flock cams and this resonated with me in some kind of way haha. Love the concept and the style/personality of this. Congrats!!

Developer

Thanks Tim! Yes, we could use a tutorial but ran out of time. You're probably the first to even mention the concept of flock camera - and I believe our politics are aligned there. And while you're here, I want to say that your game might just be the best in the whole jam! Everything is firing on all cylinders. The first game I've given 5 stars for every category! Thanks again for stopping by and playing our game. :)

Artstyle is awesome. And the concept is really unique. It's super fun and I don't think I've seen anything like it.

Developer

Bo11a! It's been great having you in our stream and really appreciate the kind words. Your game is also very unique! Love a good chaotic endless runner.

Submitted(+1)

really unique concept, running around and tracking down the cameras was super fun tho having all the camera feeds pop up on screen at once got a bit overwhelming to navigate
had some small issues with the mouse controls (inverted Y) but I've got used to it
honestly such a creative and ambitious idea for a jam great job!

Developer(+1)

Really appreciate that you played it and for the feedback. We just fixed the Y inversion btw! Thanks MisterDll!

Submitted(+1)

Insanely creative game !! WELL DONE GUYS !! Keep up the good work !

Developer

Thanks Alex! Appreciate that very much. :D

Submitted(+1)

Very original concept, found the camera controls tricky but loved the vibe!

Submitted(+1)

I know this calls out downloading is better than playing in the browser, but I did play in the browser and the inverted mouse controls were a bit weird for me. I saw there was an options, but video and controls couldn't be clicked on.

Outside of that, this was super fun. The fact we are like twice the size of the cars was funny, and I spent way too long trying to ride them. The multiple camera angles was a bit confusing but didn't take me too long to figure out and get use to.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! With the time constraints we ran into so many input bugs it was crazy. We're hoping to post an input-fixed version later tonight/tomorrow because the mouse inversion is so hard to maneuver. It's something with Unity's cinemachine. Thanks again bud!

Submitted(+1)

I understand that! We're working on an input fix for our game too lol. Good luck!
