How does the game fit the theme?
You got caught stealing from a witch and thrown into a dark dungeon. The only way out is to trust the words of said witch and find a key.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
Music and sound assets were not made by me and are credited in the description. All models, textures, programming were made during the jam period.

Loved the spooky atmosphere in the dungeon! The low-rez models work really well, and you chose some good msic and sound effects. Found the key relatively quickly using the ol' choose-a-direction-and-hug-the-wall technique.

I had issues with rotating the camera, but going into the menu fixed it.

Really nice sound design and story! I couldn't find anything interesting in the maze and the camera controls were a little wonky. Still really nice design.

Visuals and sounds were well done. The atmosphere of the maze felt very tense. I did have issues rotating the camera in the browser version whenever the mouse hits the edge of the screen. If only there was a way to keep the mouse centered so that the player can rotate the camera more freely.  Other than that, awesome work.

I really liked the atmosphere and sounds; however, I had no luck with the maze, sadly...

Hi! I don't quite get the hang of difficulty level for gamejams, but I'm happy you still enjoyed it. I wanted to use the torches as a marker for places you've been to, but I put them too scarcely for that.

The feeling of navigating the maze and the atmosphere of both the sound and visuals was a great experience on their own, and the laughing jester sound effects scared me couple of times but in a good way not in a bad way 😅.

I tried to follow the blue torches as they were unique and different than the red ones thinking they were the ones leading the correct path but maybe I was wrong.

Overall it was a good game even though I couldn't complete it, I enjoyed it.

Developer

Yup, original idea was that the normal torches would sometimes all go out to create confusion but later decided to make them into a hint of key placement. No worries, once you got it you would have to return to the start and the game would end. If you roamed around then you got most of the fun. :)

The music is very creepy. I was so stressed something something was going to jump out at me. Nice work!

Developer

Thank you! Glad I got that right. I loved the feeling music can convey and the two I used were great. All credit of the original creators, SamuelFJohans for the main menu music and Tim_Kulig_Free_Music for the in-game music, both found on pixabay! ;)

The game is really atmospheric, I really liked the design for the wall and floors, and the lighting as I felt they added to this. Only thing I'd say is wish there was more to see and do. Game is on theme too, and I wouldn't have the first clue about 3D game dev so well done for doing that in the first place. Overall well done, especially as your 4th game jam, you should be proud!

Thank you a lot for the kind words! :) I wanted to make much more but unfortunately job and life didn't want to give me more time D:

Very moody!

I liked that it was spooky/creepy and had no jump scares!

I felt very manipulated by the sound effects, as I thought I was getting somewhere.

Nice entry!

Thanks! I myself are no huge fan of horror games, but I do prefer the atmospheric over jumpscare/loud sounds. Glad you liked it! :)

Cool atmosphere (: Very spooky
The camera control is kinda glitchy, probably because I didn't play in full screen mode

Thank you! Unfortunately I'm not yet too familiar with web settings, so there might be some small issues like that. Most of the testing is done on desktop version.
