I liked the artstyle with the pixelated ppl and the plot omgg was awesome. The only thing is the character sprites walking looks fine when you go up down left right, but when u go diagonally it just looks so funny like they become michael jackson sliding across the dance floor, their arms and legs move differently and the sprite flips weirdly too. Also some environment objects gets infront of the player where its not supposed to, like the lamp and the darkness of your hotel room etc. Needs a bit of polish and clearer instructions, but overall great game!

I loved the dialogues and the characters’ reactions. My only complaint is that I was expecting the game to let me choose someone to accuse instead of giving me the answer straight.

Such a fun mystery game XD You think you're the one solving the mystery, but in reality, you're being completely manipulated the whole time XD

I absolutely loved how the ending connects the game to reality, especially the seven days... the actual length of the game jam!! And that final line... (was that REALLY the end? ) It made me laugh so much. Such a creative way to end the game XD

But seriously, the mystery itself is really well written. The story keeps you guessing, every character feels surprisingly well developed, and everyone's actions and motives actually make sense. I think the writing is genuinely great!

The art style is fantastic too! I especially love the contrast between the pixel characters and their realistic portraits during dialogue XD

Aww, can't believe you m*rdered someone to make this game. Love your dedication. Lol, kidding. Anyway one of the best games i played in this jam. Love the aesthetic and the plot. I know that the linearness is the point of the story but i wish it is not that linear. Good submission and good job!

I like the style and the classic mystery vibes.

I love the retro art style this game has and the story and ending are really good!

The graphics look great! I really like the dialogue and blending the low res pictures of people with the art style. The style is very unique! My only issue was that it was a little hard to figure out what I was supposed to do.

the graphics with these low quality 3d and pixelated people are amazing! i think the only problem is that the 2d sprites and their animations are a bit clunky, but this is a really nice game!

I love what you did with the pixelated people. Also, that alibi pronounciation was so funny! I absolutely loved how you injected emotions into the characters by using pixelated people. Story and dialogue is also fleshed out well.  THE ENDING IS WRITTEN SO WELL YOU BROKE THE FOURTH WALL!!!! I was so invested in the game and you made it so well! The ending makes it so worth it! I love this style!!

Loved the game, the visuals are give a good vibe + give a bit of nostalgic feelings too. I didn't played it for long cus of small time but the game kinda reminded me of Phoenix Wright game. Also I noticed a few bugs you may or may not know about:

  • if you walk up diagonally the sprite flips (up + right shows the left up walking animation and up + left shows the right one)
  • the player's head will show behind the lamp on the upper floor

Really liked the art style of the game and especially the pixilated people. Chefs kiss

unique and simple entry to the jam. really fleshed out story as well

Really cool visuals, and the people acting out the emotions / feelings with the conversation was very charming. I accidentally clicked through some conversation a few times and missed some stuff, so it might be nice to have two clicks than just one (though I know some people aren't into more clicking..) It was an interesting game!

love the art style

Suuuper unique game, and really fleshed outfor only a 7-day development.

The dialogue and characters were pretty cool (the bodybuilder was really funny lmao) and the story was simple but effective. Without going into spoilers, I guessed the murderer quite early, but the final twist caught me completely off guard and I liked it a lot!

The dialogue boxes and talking sprites are really cool as well, and the isometric view is really unique, although the overworld sprites are somewhat rough in my opinion.

Overall, super cool and unique entry, actually got quite invested, kudos to the team!

Developer

Hi! Thank you very much for your feedback, which is very appreciated!

On the proper release, we will definitely work on the overworld sprites and the font of the dialogues.

We're very glad at least some of the twists got you, lol.

Thanks so much for playing our game!

super unique, I had a good time. this was a vibe. I had a nice espresso martini, that was a non-negroniatiable. song got a bit repetive over time, might be good to have it cut out for some of the dialogue maybe. It was really nice to have the notes to be able to reference them and not need to memorize a bagillion things.

Developer

Thank you so much for your feedback! Very glad you enjoyed our first game.

Very good point on the music, we wanted to make it longer and add more different songs for different interactions, but didn't have enough time. On our final release, we will definitely have more music!

Hope the negroni was amaze :)

Wow, I love the atmosphere and the interesting art style of the game which I've never seen before! The game really well to the theme, really cool plot twist too. I'm not really an expert at storylines, so I can't provide much feedback on that, but it was engaging for me. This is very good work for 7 days. I quite like how the objectives lead you to the end of the story on a path, I just wish I could talk to the characters even if they were not part of the objective.

Developer

Hi! thank you very much for your feedback. Very happy you enjoyed our first game!

We are planning a full release with a lot more interactions that arent directly related to objectives, but since we only had 7 days, we were a bit stuck on time. So if you really liked the game, do keep posted!

Wild graphics, but I kind of liked them. The photos of the characters was a fun choice, too!

Cool execution and an interesting concept; the vibe reminded me a bit of "Disco Elysium".

Here’s what I felt was missing:
1. A long backstory with no option to skip it.
2. Interactive objects aren't highlighted visually, making it unclear what to do on the map intuitively.
3. The story is interesting, in my opinion, but the characters lacked motivation, it wasn't clear why they were there, other than just being added to the game for the sake of it.
4. If the characters had been as well-developed as the environment (which, by the way, has an amazing atmosphere, you really want to hang out and explore it), the game would have ranked very high in the jam.

Overall, it’s a solid project, especially considering it was made in just a week for the jam. it’s excellent! That said, I would have liked a bit more feedback from the game itself. You guys did a great job; you worked hard and delivered a worthy result! Keep it up!

Developer

Thank you for your feedback, glad you caught on to the Disco Elysium inspo!

For the final release (when we have less of a time crunch), we will definitely add a lot of the feedback you've given, we really appreciate it!
