Fun game! Was fun to move and lvl up the ant farm.

This was very fun and unique! Though I would've liked if there was a way to erase the paths, but that's more of a personal grievance. The art is also cute, and getting upgrades was very satisfying for me. Good job!

I like the game, especially the pathfinding. Reminds me of like those easy entity pathfinding tutorials on like scratch and stuff(iykyk). You should make the tutorials more obvious and add like a damaged bar or health bar or some sort of indicator that the human is being attacked. Also, the gameplay of the game does not really fit the theme of the game. F.e. you could replace the cookies with like treasure, the flies with knights or mercenaries or smth, and the human with a flying dutchman and mechanically it would play the exact same but there would be no concept of "Trust No One" left. You should make the gameplay really intertwined with the theme so that doesnt happen as easily. Good game though.

Funny game

Funny game! Controls were a bit confusing with switching between the modes and also seeing arrows everywhere. I feel like normal RTS controls with dragging over units would potentially feel better (just a suggestion!). I'm also not quite sure if this game fits the theme all to well. Cool game anyway!

Developer

Thank you for your feedback! I only realized belatedly that I maybe added too many controls when trying to create the instructions page HAHA. Definately want to streamline it a bit like you suggest. To be honest my only real tie to the theme is the intro comic so yeah thats fair lol. Thanks for playing!

I Liked the idea good job!

Thanks for playing!

Incredible game, and it was only made by 1 person?! Your game is underrated, more people should play your game!

Developer

Thank you! That’s very kind of you hehe :D And ye just 1 me, but I got lost in the sauce coding so the art and audio aren’t to my own standards haha

Very unique and interesting idea. Well done :D

Developer

Thank you!

First off.... how do you manage to do so much as a single dev? That's quite impressive.

The core loop is very strong and it was very clever to break the routine with random attacks , the visual feed is very good, and I think is intuitive enough to recode the interface and actions so when you hit the enemy it understands that attack is the command to execute.

You can break it into smaller sizes for levels and add new difficulties like water you need to evade, or add a bit of RTS with buildings that can defend you while you get more ants.

Developer

Thanks hehe! I honestly spent the first few days on the movement logic and combat that in the end most of the UI and visual stuff are just Kenney’s assets HAHA. I like your suggestion of enemy targeting, might use that in a game more focused on unit task allocation rather than swarm movement control owo. Thanks for all your feedback and also thanks for playing!

Real cute game, nice colonisation game

Thanks for the compliment!

Managing an ant colony using vector-field brush paths is such a brilliant, clever mechanic for an RTS—it brings back serious Pikmin nostalgia while carving out its own identity! For a solo dev project, the core technical loop, cute pixel ants, and addicting progression are super impressive.

A few tweaks to consider when you optimize post-jam:

- Tutorial & UI: Break down the opening tutorial pictures into step-by-step interactive pop-ups so players aren't overwhelmed with text all at once.

- Combat Clarity & Feedback: Add clear damage numbers, health bars, or hit-reaction animations when ants switch to attack mode so it's obvious the human boss is taking damage.

- Performance & Pathing: Cap maximum ant spawns (or pool objects) to prevent lag/FPS drops, and smooth out the separation forces so ants don't get stuck in tight corners.

Massive potential here for an expanded version! If you have a minute, we'd love to hear your thoughts on our jam project as well: /jam/brackeys-16/rate/4953523

Developer

Oh wow! Thank you for your super long and detailed comment! I really appreciate how specific it is! Definately a lot for me to take into consideration for post jam updates. Thanks for playing! (Also, I have just reviewed your game btw!)

thank you very much bro

The ants are so cute! Such a fun game!

Developer

Thanks for your review!

So cute! Idk if it bugget to me; when the human appeared I tried to change the mode to attack but that did nothing to him.

I liked the idea tho, I like bugs and ants a I find it really cool to manage an antnest :)

Developer

Oh noooo :( For bug fixing purposes, what did you try to do for this bug, and what was the expected outcome? I would like to know where the misconception happened if you have time to answer, thanks! And thanks for trying out my game though!

Controls For the actual controls you needed to change your mode, then drag the mouse to trigger the paint (cause if I triggered it every frame it might lag a lot haha, so I only paint while moving and on mouse down.

Great job on that game, really enjoyed that ants idea, reminding me of pikmin somehow haha, it also matchwell the theme, congrats to you by doing that alone !!!

Developer

Thanks for your compliment! Glad you enjoyed it! (also yeah definitely thought about pikmin and how to differentiate while developing HAHA)

This was fun, addictive, and never has a game had me siding with ants ever. The balancing was very much in my favor - I was able to get OP really fast, but it works in a jam where we're playing tons of games and lowering the difficulty really helps. I liked the pathing you created with the brush, and how you added a kill button (knowing ants can get stuck in corners). It’s a simple solution to what I'm assuming was an annoying bug for you. Nice job, great entry!

Developer

Thank you very much for your detailed feedback! And thanks for playing!!!

Great game! I accidentally went overboard with spawning stuff which made the game really laggy, but up until then I was having a great time!

Developer

Sorry I didn’t have much time to optimize during the jam 😭😭😭 I’m glad you enjoyed it before then though!

Great game! Can't believe this was made by 1 person.

Developer

Thanks for the compliment!

Really fun game! I only wish having higher numbers of ants were plausible without my pc catching on fire! Really great job for a solo dev!

Developer

Thank you for your compliment!

Honestly the game is good but needs a little polishing and optimization.

Developer

Haha yeah I did not save enough time for those stuff, will try to work on it after the jam hehe Thanks for playing!
