How does the game fit the theme?
The player needs the blocks to win the game but the blocks can't be trusted. Some blocks will explode looking only a little different from regular blocks. This creates the tension that comes from not being able to trust something you rely on.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
All of the audio was found free to use on Pixabay. All code and art was made by the team. No gen AI was used.

How many people worked on the game?

Cool concept. It is too easy to get trapped without a way to climb up the blocks as they stack, which feels like a soft lock of the game.

The concept is solid. The movement capabilities of the cat and the speed of the falling blocks made it feel a bit to difficult to plan where the blocks should land.

Had some teleporting issues but I love the concept!

This is a refreshing concept! I will now think about the little kitties as I play Tetris.... AHAHA Loved this game so much!

I didnt understand the random teleportations sometimes. But it was fun jumping around the blocks!

O I really like teh idea of guiding the tetris pieces to make a staircase to win! Sadly I got some buts (kitten teletransporting) and I was not abble to finish it, but in general it looks really cool. Good job on the idea!

This one is definitely a fun version of the theme. I like the use of Tetris something most people are familiar with and iterating it a way that fits the jam! The little cat is also a cutie and while I ran into a few bugs being teleported/respawning around, I enjoyed the game.

Fun take on the theme. I liked the art style as well.

Beat it after a few tries, but the respawn thing kept activating just before I reached the end, and I wasn't even stuck or being hit. Other than that though, this is a great take on the theme, and I genuinely really enjoyed playing it.

A very fun take on tetris! Having to use the blocks to create a path is a fun addition to it. The cat is also, very. very cute.

I feel bad playing normal tetris now thinking how many invisible cats are trying to escape my poorly placed stack. I enjoyed there were so really thoughtful gameplay mechanics (like the cat being move when there was no escape) but would really like to see more polish. But overall cute little entry!

interesting, but i egt stuck cos jump is too low and it builds a cave around me and i cant walljump away

I like it - really unique mash up of ideas/genres and a creative take on the theme. Trying to place blocks *and* get around them *and* compensate for trick blocks all at once makes for a fun challenge. The jump is a *little* restrictive; since most blocks are 2 high, a 2 high block jump makes it very easy to get stuck.

Nice work!

I love the concept! I have to say that game is a bit challenging though and you can easily get stuck. Cat main character on plus <3

It’s definitely pretty challenging! I think adding a restart button would make it better, since I got stuck in unwinnable situations quite a few times.

Haha yeah we were aware of that but we ran out of time before we could come up with a good fix. The timer was our attempt to solve that problem but a restart button could also have been a good quick fix. Thanks for the feedback.

Loved this game! Not sure if it's the best match for the theme, but the idea alone deserves five stars!

Developer

Thanks for the honest feedback. We had grander ambitions about the trickiness of the blocks but just didn't end up having time for them.
