This game is very easy getting the treasure to find. I think you should use the A or B Buttons to use your axe to attack the enemies like in Dig Dug.

This is a simple but very well executed concept, graphics and audio are nice and gameplay is on point, congrats!

Fun game! It definitely brings out my inner speedrunner, haha

Great responsive controls, ultra simple and understandable gameplay, tight-knit focus; love it!

(P.S. I can’t be the only one that thought of that old Simpsons quote “Dig up, stupid!”, can I?)

Super fun game. It also feels like I'm playing Digger without blowing the enemies up. Again, well made and easy to understand.

So simple but so good, very well done!

This is a very polished game. I loved how snappy the digging felt. The presentation is very nice. Great job!

Cute graphics and great Gameboy soul! It would be fun to introduce a few new mechanics to keep the gameplay fresh. The movement feels really responsive and the sfx and music fit the game really well!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing! I had to cut a bunch of mechanic and enemies due to time constraints. Additional enemy types and items for example. Maybe someday!

Gameplay is smooth and responsive. Used to love Dig-Dug back in the day - this is like a speed-run version of that. Nice Job!

Man, one of the most fun games I've played in this jam.

The gameplay is perfect, controls are super responsive and simple, making the game loop super addicting. The music/sfx and the pixel art is neat, really great.

Nice game! Congrats!!!

This was really fun! I appreciate that the game lets you go as fast as you want, I enjoyed trying to speedrun and finish levels as fast as possible. The graphics and sounds are all great and feel very Game Boy as well.

Really enjoyed the gameplay loop, felt really polished and fun to interact with.

I really like this game. It has nice art and it's really fun. I could spend more time on it. Could you maybe also check out my game, I only have three ratings.

Brilliant little game! Quick and simple to learn, yet super addictive! The overall presentation is excellent. The graphics and audio would fit right at home on a gameboy. The movement is responsive and digging is satisfying. Good job :)

Very simple but charming game, really feels like something you'd see in an actual gameboy

This game is incredibly charming! Got to stage 15 with a score of 6.4k (after many tries).

It is so fun to dig fast (and die young...). The diagonal movement wasn't something I expected to be possible. In general the movement is really great.

The later stages seem to get a bit laggy; maybe it's on my end.

Sometimes it felt a bit unfair to get out of a tile and while a bat (always the bats...) is going to my previous tile and then dying from it. A mode with a faster clock would be really fun!

Overall, this is a great entry to the jam! I've spent more than a few minutes digging around.

Thanks for putting in so much time! I tried to make the basic movement feel as good as possible. It's meant to be run-based with some roguelike elements, but a lot of additional enemies and items didn't make the cut.  Only had like 3 days from the 10. The game is super unoptimized, the fog and dirt are just all instances haha, so lag is expected.

Crisp gameplay and v smooth mechanics, fun! Would have loved some music or sfx if you continue working on this in future!

Developer

Oh did music and sfx not work for you? I know sometimes audio won't play if your not focussed on the game, but it should be there!

This is pretty fun. It was a super simple game idea so it was made really well.

Developer

Thank you for playing! Last year my idea was way too big, so I wanted to keep it simple this time. There's a few things I didn't have time to add. So tried to polish all the basics :)
