How does your game meet GBJam's theme
you're a dragon with a taste for good old gold... and roasted knights. yum.

An endearing inversion of roles from DigDug.
I am totally a sucker for games that let you play as a dragon. And this is a good one even outside that.
Sounds and art are amazing. Still I can't figure out how enemies move, but super solid and fun game. Good job!
i can’t either lol. thanks for playing!
Well done! Great game! Another one to your great collection :D
thank you!
Love the color palette! The game has a lot of charm :)
thanks so much!
Great game and the art is amazing, I really liked the gameplay it reminds me a lot of Dig Dug 2001, a game from my childhood. Such great memories! Good job guys!!
thank you! it is indeed very similar to Dig Dug. glad it could bring back some good memories for you!
Very polished entry! The music and art are great. Everything that's there is polished and works great and would feel right at home on the Gameboy. After I got the hang of it, I found myself wanting more, but I think ultimately that's a compliment.
thanks for the kind words!
Impressive! I found it very GB in terms of gameplay, the puzzle element mixed with action is certainly a good matchup. It makes me wish there was more levels and variety!
thank you! yeah, i thought of some ways we could add a bit more variety in the gameplay, but there wasn’t time during the jam for us to add anything more.
Really lovely visual design, I was a bit disappointed that the game just ended? It would have been nice to be shown my score because as it stands the score is kinda pointless. Either way, pretty fun little game
totally agree! we didn’t end up having much time to work on the game, so that (and a bunch of other stuff) didn’t make it in. it would have been really cool to have a global leaderboard like your game has. thanks for the feedback!
What a nice piece of arcady game design.
Having to juggle with your own movement to face the proper direction to defend yourself never gets old. Falling rocks are also a classic.
I don't mind being unable to bait knights and I feel like the amount of flames you get is more than adequate but I was often frustrated by how long the cooldown for attacks is. Since the player is already limited by their movement and their ammo it seems a bit overkill to have a full second of waiting between each attack. I feel like it broke the sec per sec rythm of the game.
Apart from that, nothing but sycophancy on my end. Great music, top noch visuals, Great job.
thanks for the kind words! we were hoping the cooldown on the fire breath would add a bit more strategy to the game, but i totally understand that it can be frustrating.
Brilliant little game that would fit right at home on a real Gameboy! The art, colours and overall presentation is clean and eye-catching.
The gameplay is simple and addictive, with lots of room to build upon with new mechanics and progression. Maybe you could add some way of restoring your fire? More stage hazards would be cool too! Do you plan on continuing its development after the jam?
i don’t think we will make it a full blown game, but we’ll probably polish it up a little bit post jam. good ideas though! we originally were going to add a Balatro-style kind of upgrade system but ended up not having time for it. thanks for the kind words!
Really funny and unique game, great job! I did find a bug where I died from a falling rock and got the game over screen, however I also finished the level at the same time. So it took me to a new screen and let me keep playing with the game over graphic on top. However, I knew it was bugged because the fire stopped displaying when I clicked z but the guys would still die.
whoa, that’s interesting! i have not seen that. every time i died at the same time as killing the last knight i got a game over. we’ll have to look into that. thanks thanks for playing and for the bug report!
Ofcourse! Hope your able to replicate and get to the root.
really nice art!! :> gj!
thank you!
wooooow i love the art sooooooo much
thank you!
Fun game! The pixel art and music/sfx are super neat, really enjoyed this part.
Had a really good time playing it.
Congrats!!
thanks for playing! glad you enjoyed it.
Plays smooth as butter. Sprite art is next level. Music very classic chiptune. The falling rocks being so interactive is awesome, satisfying to use as a trap, funny when the knights do it to themselves, enraging when I did it to myself...
I have similar critiques as others here, but I'll add one: on first play, by loading the level with Z it also consumes one of my flame charges.
yeah, i noticed that as well haha. pretty frustrating. we crunched to get things done last minute and didn’t really have time for playtesting, but hopefully we can fix that issue after the ratings are done.
Thanks for playing and for the kind words!
insanely good game for a jam, probably one of the most polished submissions in the whole jam imo,, goated status.
goated review. thanks for playing!
Simple and effective. I started the game and got crushed the moment I moved—had a good laugh. Great job to the whole team.
thanks for playing!
10/10 bravo. The colours are SO nice, gameplay incredible, music good. Great job all round
thanks so much for the nice words! 10/10 review
This is awesome!! Simply amazing!! Its beautiful, the graphics are so cool, the color pallet, the SFX, the music, gameplay feels fluid, what an amazing game!! I had some problems where i died on the transition of stages, i think a rock fell on me, it was more than once, so maybe it was a skill issue on my part hehehe
yeah, that do happen sometimes. sorry about that! thanks so much for the kind words!
Very cool and unique game! I wish there was a way to manipulate the pathing of the knights, since sometimes you are left with not enough flames to kill them one by one and need to wait for them to line up.
yeah, they can be pretty frustrating! we’ll probably tweak the knight logic post-jam. thanks for playing!
