Most surprising combo meter of all time haha, but love the juicy effects of the tricks and the spins, cool gimmick to add to what might slip into the realm of just an avoid everything in a straight line game!

Hey! Turns out my time management skills were on point this time! This is pretty much the game I wanted to make!

This was awesome! I had the game-only screen open from the day prior, so went in without context. Was driving carefully until I accidentally hit someone and got ‘Spin right, 1x100.’ All of a sudden, I got a huge grin, and the music made so much more sense.
This was a lot of fun, brought back fond memories of SSX tricky and the like. I missed that you could jump or slam, so maybe some controls fading away at the start would help? But the transition from ‘driving sim’ to ‘snowboarding game’ was great at least once:)
This was actually one of the first games I played during the jam. I’d say I played it pretty early on, but unfortunately, I only got around to leaving a comment now.
First of all, congratulations on another great game! I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: your style of mixing 3D and 2D always has such a unique charm to it. It’s really captivating, and I feel like it adds a lot of value to the art direction.
I’m really happy that you managed to create the game you envisioned, because pulling off an effect like this is incredibly difficult, especially during a game jam. I can relate to that myself, since my own game ended up being unfinished haha.
The gameplay was a lot of fun, especially because of all the different interactions we can have with the vehicles. The tricks were absolutely great too. They vaguely reminded me of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, which also has that same kind of vibe of interacting with the environment through tricks.
I also really liked the attention to detail in the environments, where you can see all kinds of little interactions and background scenes happening. It gives the game a huge sense of life. I feel like the gameplay could have benefited from having some random events like that happen on the road as well, such as traffic jams, pedestrians with broken-down cars in the middle of the road, and so on. But I know time is limited during a jam, and that would add quite a bit of extra complexity, especially since the core gameplay loop is already very solid.
Still talking about the gameplay, another thing I thought would be really cool would be having a radio in the car that lets you switch between different songs during the drive. I think that would add a huge amount of charm and immersion.
Another idea I had that I think could be really cool would be the ability to switch drivers during the journey, with each driver having their own perks, such as different tricks, better acceleration, higher scores, and so on. But again, these are just some wild ideas I came up with, and I think they could be useful if you ever decide to continue working on this project or make something similar in the future haha.
The online leaderboard was, without a doubt, the highlight of the game when it comes to replayability. Trying to beat our own high scores is always a great incentive, but it becomes even more compelling when there are other competitors fighting for a spot on the podium.
And man, what an incredible devlog! I really enjoyed your video and seeing the process behind creating the game. It’s really admirable that you put together such great content to showcase the development process. You can really tell how much love and care you put into the game.
And once again, it was great to see Dick Storm again. He’s basically become a GoedWare Jam icon at this point haha.
Congratulations on the game, and best of luck with the jam!
This is awesome! Loved every bit of it once I realized what I was playing hahaha
I think visually there are a lot of solid mismatched pieces. The title screen looks way different than the actual game. And the game doesn’t match the vibe, which is why I think it took a minute for it to click.
I was going along dodging cars like, “Why would someone think my daily commute is fun?”
Then I noticed I got points for hitting a car and spinning out and it was on.
I think at least part of that is because nothing about the game looks skateboarding.
Add some graffiti to the buses. Give the cars a more textured…texture? Something that looks more like graffiti artwork. Make the asphalt look more like pavement or skate ramp wood.
I wouldn’t go overboard or heavy handed. But I could see a visual style where it looks like a skating game but blends well and makes sense with the background settings.
(Maybe graffiti on a cow?)
This was really cool, and I loved your devlog. You referenced a lot of games that I really love and enjoy(ed). And I loved this.
Audio was great. Effects were great. Gameplay is addictive.
I just wish the visuals matched the gameplay a little better and the colliders need some fine tuning. Driving halfway through a car and not triggering a trick was a bit jarring.
Overall, I love this concept and would be very happy to see a more polished, blended version of it.
Such a good time! I tried hard to get in the top 10 but only managed 12th haha.
Its a really cool integration of the theme with the mechanic of doing stunts and earning points for that. And its also quite easy to pickup, but has a skill threshold for getting the longer combos. There is some luck involved, but its upto you to spot the chains of cars and buses and then go for it! The juice is also pretty good - the slam and the grinding on the bus feels really good and combined with nice realistic sound effects!
The background tracks were good, but for some reason they sort of stopped loopoing for me in one of the runs, but i was so focused on the gameplay itself that it didnt really take anything away from the experience.
Only one slight hiccup was that there were times when i pressed the slam but it didnt really register, which felt a bit disappointing as i missed 2x for some long chains! I gues there is some window in which you have to press the key,so would be good if it were longer - like just before the car landed if you managed to press it, it would register and then you would get the benefit of the slam.
The game has a lot of character with the reactions of bystanders and once a burger which was hilarious :D
Great going on this, super fun :)
THIS IS SUCH A CHAOTICALLY FUN WAY TO GET HOME! 😂🚗💨🔥
The idea of turning a family road trip into a car bouncing trick challenge is fantastic. Once you realize you can jump onto cars, chain bounces, grind across vehicles, and build combos, the whole thing becomes surprisingly addictive. The car models and little reaction shots also give the journey a lot of personality, and the Dick Storm easter egg is such a fun touch for the GoedWare jam.
I think the biggest thing to improve would be variety and progression. The core movement already feels great, so adding different road sections, vehicle types, obstacles, trick modifiers, or new challenges as you travel would make the 1121 km journey feel even more like an adventure rather than one long repeated stretch. A small intro explaining the family trip and a proper “finally home!” moment at the end could also give the journey a stronger sense of beginning and payoff.
Still, this is a really polished and fun jam concept, and you can tell the team had a clear idea of what they wanted to make and actually managed to finish that vision. SUCH A FUN JAM ENTRY! 🚗🏠✨ GOOD LUCK WITH THE JAM! 🔥🎮
This is a really fun one! Chaining bounces and tricks with a car is such a cool idea, and it feels really satisfying when a long combo works out :D The models look great and the whole thing feels nice and juicy. I also really like the reaction shots, and there are quite a few of them, which adds a lot of personality!
The UI could use a bit more polish though: the text was barely readable at times, and its colors don't really match the rest of the game, so it kind of stands out. While it's really enjoyable, it also gets quite repetitive after a while, since nothing much changes. You jump around, the music loops, and you hear the same SFX over and over. Some variation in obstacles or sections along the way (other than the background changing), plus a few more sounds and maybe a second track, would keep it fresh for the whole ride. Theme wise, I love the idea of a 1121 km journey home, but even with the reaction shots I was still missing a bit of story around it (?). There's no real motivation at the beginning and no ending once you arrive (or did I miss it?), so a short intro and a little "welcome home" moment at the end would make it feel like an actual journey. Still a great entry, really well done! :)
What a game, make me feels like playing with my car toys e.e, really cool gameplay, very funny game
great 3D and details, good sound, music and effects.
A really strong entry, good job, amazing.
For a moment, I thought it would just be a game of dodging cars until I reached the finish line, but then I discovered I could jump, and when I realized I could pull off tricks by jumping on top of the cars, I spent the next few minutes of gameplay trying to pull off the longest combo I could. It’s a great game and a lot of fun.
We’d love for you to try our game, too, and give us some feedback. Thanks <3
YES hahaha this was exactly my experience. I spent the beginning carefully dodging everything thinking “okay…so this is basically my commute?” 😂
Then I accidentally hit something, saw the points, and the entire game instantly made sense.
I’m actually torn on whether they should explain that sooner though. Normally I’d say absolutely, but that moment of realizing “WAIT, I’M SUPPOSED TO HIT THE CARS” was genuinely hilarious.
I started the game thinking, "Oh, I guess I just have to avoid the other vehicles" and then BOOM... a sudden crash!
I was waiting for the Game Over screen, but instead of losing... the car just started bouncing and adding points to my score. Then I realized: "Ohhhhh, that doesn't make any sense... but it's 100,000x funnier HAHA!" Amazing gameplay, I had a really good time trying to score more points than a friend I saw on the leaderboard >:D.
Good job.
That fake-out got me too.
What’s funny is that I think my normal “video game literacy” actually worked against me here.
Cars = obstacles, crash = bad.
Then the game basically says, “no, idiot, crash MORE.”
I’m starting to think the confusion might actually be one of my favorite parts of the game. If they ever polished this further, I’d almost rather see them lean into the fake-out than tutorialize it away completely.
Nice game! It was very fun to do tricks like in Tony Hawk XD It was satisfying doing the combos!
The only little downside I found was the lack of difference between the tricks. It would have been nice if doing different trick combos gave different scores.
But it was very fun, and I even replayed twice to try to beat my score!
Nice work!
Really enjoyed the game! I liked how you turned a simple family trip back home into a fun little experience with its own personality.
I also really liked that you made a devlog showing the development process. Seeing how the idea evolved and how you built the game during the jam is something I always appreciate from other creators. The easter egg challenge was also a really nice touch!
Great job, especially for a small team. If you have some time, we would also love to hear your thoughts on our game from the jam. Feedback from other developers is always really valuable.
Hey kkcn and kkuba! Very nice entry :D It was very fun indeed. Took me a second or two to get the hang of it but then your game managed to create a nice flow state that reminds me a lot of the old days with tony hawk pro skater just chaining tricks to make a new highscore while having a nice track jamming in the background! You captured that feeling very well in my opinion!
An issue I see is the lack variety, the different sections dont feel all too much different besides their background which is a missed opportunity in that regard and which makes the game feel a bit stretched in its duration.
But overall a very fun game, great entry :)
So much fun!! I wish I’d had this game on mobile when I was a kid haha
Great game!
Gameplay wise, this was one of the strongest aspects of the whole game. Jumping on cars and skating across the buses is very satisfying and enjoyable, and the little spin effects after every jump makes you feel a lot more awesome performing the tricks. There are some problems, the game doesn't really have much variance in the gameplay, as there isn't many variance in terms of obstacles, or vehicle types. I this wouldn't be as much of an issue if the game didn't last for as long, but as it is the game doesn't feel very exciting in the latter half, as I basically learned all the tricks, and the game didn't throw anything new that would keep me engaged. I think adding some new mechanics or features as you progress would go a long way.
Visually, the game was solid. I enjoyed the graphics, and as previously mentioned, the details of when you car bounces and does tricks were very well done. The visuals I did notice repeated a lot, which would have been fine, if again the game didn't last for as long. There were some unique structures, but I think adding something simple like, different grass colors, or a day/night cycle would make it feel like your progressing more.
Audio wise, the game was good. I don't think there is much to say here, other than all the sound effects fit, and were well balanced. The music was very pleasant too.
The theme interpretation was great. Easy to grasp, and made sense. I have no complaints.
Overall, a fantastic entry, that serves as a great base, for potentially bigger game.
I think you’re onto something with progression. The core mechanic was strong enough that I gave gameplay a 5, but once it clicks, there’s definitely room for the game to start asking more of you.
Something I’d love is for the progression to happen visually AND mechanically. Like the first stretch is normal highway, then you start getting construction zones, weird vehicle combinations, ramps, tunnels, different road surfaces, etc.
That could also solve one of my biggest criticisms, which was that the game plays like this ridiculous skating/trick game but visually still looks mostly like a normal road trip.
