This was fun! The art and music were lovely and the gameplay loop was effective. It was really satisfying to destroy the ghosts with the flashlight, especially when they clumped up. The 2nd monster you can't use the flashlight on is a wonderful touch. Great job!

Using the flashlight for combat is really cool and reminds me of luigis mansion one of my top games of all time so you get bonus points for nostalgia, thanks :)
Your shop and cleaning mechanic along with the difficulty of the swarming ghosts makes for a very nice gameplay loop! I really liked that taking it slower with the cleaning rewarded you with it going faster overall. Great job! I definitely need to practice playing a bit more!
Hahahaha loooool! Awesome game!
I absolutely love how it evokes the feeling of playing a game on a Sega console. You and your friends did a great job. The graphics are beautiful, as is the game’s main theme. Personally, I felt it could have used some 16-bit ambient music—perhaps for when you’re clearing off the gravestones.
It seems the game is set in the U.S.; otherwise, I can’t explain such exorbitant medical costs. XD
I genuinely enjoyed my time with this game. It’s great that it essentially uses the mechanics from *Alan Wake*—combined with the need to switch off your flashlight whenever *HE* is after you. Though, from what I’ve gathered, if you’re carrying a lamp, not even God can save you.
I wish there were more games like this, instead of all that 3D junk made in Unreal Engine. Anyone can create a scare in a 3D space—but can you pull it off in 2D? Great job!
Thanks for playing the game!
I was definitely going for the retro / sega feel (Mostly because that is the extent of my pixel art skills haha), And I did think of that but there are some moments with the monster where the ambient sound is important so i simply ran out of time before I could make those two things work together!
And haha yes! I did my best to balance the upgrades with how much money the player can get! And HE doesn't actually check for the lantern! He works on proximity as well as detects if HE is in your flashlight beam :p though I never got the balancing of his proximity and speed quite right before I had to submit the game! Thank you for the kind words!
Wow what a simple but fun gameplay loop! I like how after each night you're given the chance to run back and buy stuff from the shop. After upgrading my gear, I was ready to get back out into the graveyard and fight some more ghosts and clean some more graves. Loved the artstyle and the sounds were nice too. Overall, great entry! Very well done :)
Simple concept and nice gameplay, though I think it would be nice if the ghosts stopped spawning at the end of every wave.
And what is HIM supposed to be-oh god!
Pretty simple yet fun gameplay loop! I think while there are some small things that need polishing, there also are small details that I really appreciated. Like the way you prevented the player from spamming gravestones to clean, it feels better and more rewarding to press the button calmly at set intervals, than to just keep mashing it :D About the polish, if I may, I would suggest that check the collision box of the pillar like tall gravestone; maybe add a sound cue before the grim reaper appears; and prevent coins from dropping unreachable areas. Solid work overall, nice game!
Despite some problems (text markup, wonky collisions), the game turned out quite interesting. I got hooked on the gameplay loop you created with progression and unlocking a new level. And even once you get used to the game, when the monster appears it becomes genuinely creepy. Excellent work.
This is definetely the most enjoyable game that I have played till now in this jam. The gameplay was really fun.
For feedbacks, I wanna mention that colliders are bit messed up specially in the upper area near the first gate, another thing you have have used a pixel text like the pixel text provided in brackeys tutorial(maybe you were about to do it weren't able to because of timing).
Anyway good job : )
I love the aesthetics of this game! Core loop is also great and the balancing was also very well done in my opinion!
The appearance of "him" got me pretty good, because it happened so suddenly :')
Awesome job!
i can see the potential for this to be a very fun vampire survivor like game! well done!
Good loop -- kill stuff, clean stuff, collect money, upgrade.
the game feel could use a lot of work, but it's a solid design.
short but sweet game! got quite overwhelming with all the ghosts
