How does the game fit the theme?
As a deafblind woman with Anosmia, you're part of a trial for a new generative ai driven chip to bring back your senses. The chip is limited by one sense at a time, and prone to errors .You rely on switching between your senses to find your way out.
You cannot trust one sense. You cannot trust what you see. You cannot trust who you meet.
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
Sounds effects and ambients sounds were mostly picked from pixabay.
We used Godot v4.8.dev3, with the plugin Aseprite wizard.
Some code for the tilemap movement and audio handler were reused from a previous failed prototype, but vastly reworked.

Very cool game. I was skeptical that hearing or smell would be useful but I was very wrong. Great job!
Thanks for playing, glad you liked it!
Being interested in the theme of neurology (not that I'm studying it), I was instantly intrigued when I saw this game in the promo Discord channel and I must say: I absolutely dig this idea as a game. This really puts to show how important each sense is when traversing an environment this hostile. I liked the Trial and Error part of the gameplay and it was very engaging.
The audio and graphic design is no slouch either - The visuals look great and the audio is very detailed. I also love how using sight or smell aren't dead silent, which would've drive me insane.
Great stuff!
Well done on this game! It’s just that a little while ago, after following the animal three times, I got stuck and wasn’t really sure where to go next. It’s a really great idea.
Yeh i'm sorry the wolf is bugged at the end, and I didn't had the time to add something to show that his journey was finished and that you had to follow your own path... Thanks for playing it!
Extremely good premise with varied & interesting gameplay! The wolf was a bit buggy at the end of the second/third "trip", & I couldn't figure out where to go after reaching that, but from what I did see, it was amazing!!!❤️
A very interesting and novel concept, well done! Pity that game is so short.
Thank you! And yeh it ended up being more like a proof of concept than an actual game, i lost too much time on an overly complex (and bugged) system for the smell that had to be shelved for us to submit something playable :D We do intend on trying to build up on it though, we have plenty more ideas to try out. We'll see how it goes :)
Very good work, was a lot of fun! I think the dog bugged for me at the end, it stayed in place with a glitchy 2 frames animation, but I found the exit anyways.
I was surprised to see you here, I already knew you for you art, really love your style :D
Yeh i integrated the dogs animations art last minute and struggled a bit with the animation state machine, couldn't get it to work properly in time :| The dog is not supposed to lead you all the way through anyway, but since it can bug out it makes it really confusing. Thanks for playing and i'm glad you enjoyed it! Funny that, it is a small world :D
Wow looks beautiful
I love this game I would pay to play this game actually :))
I love the idea as well
Thanks for playing! We do intend to keep working on it, see if this goes anywhere.
It's a really cool concept; like a few people I didn't understand how the sound was supposed to work in warning me against pitfalls but the feel and the look of the game was great, and even the movement was responsive (which might not seem like much but must not have been as easy at it seems :) ).
Overall a good concept that could be built on!
I also notice that the character goes white if you don't select any sense; is that on purpose?
The white character was on purpose but we were out of time to do something with it, so for now it's a red herring more than anything :D
I did spend a fair bit of time on the tile movement, i'm glad you think it's responsive. And yeh, we'll try to make a better job at teaching the hearing mechanic..
Thanks so much for playing our game and for the kind words!
very unique concept and well executed. I had fun and was able to grasp the controls quickly which is hard to do with a more complicated system. Good job!
Thanks for playing, we're glad you liked it!
A unique concept and take on the theme.
There are a few pitfalls that just are undetectable by any sense, so you just need to memorize them, which I'm not sure is beneficiary to the concept of the game. But other than these, very creative take, and good general experience.
Thanks a lot for playing! There aren't supposed to be any pitfall that you can't detect, invisible ones you're supposed to hear them when you walk onto a neighoring tile, maybe there was a bug with that? I admit we need to make a better job at teaching that... (I guess we should also activate the sound when toggling your earing when you're already on a neighbot tile, it could make sense ) And same, the pitfall at the end of the smell trail, you can hear it, but it comes way too late into the trail and the fact that we didn't manage to make checkpoints or a smaller level before the end of the jam makes it really irky... Anyway thanks again for playing our game, and thanks for the much needed feedback!
Made it to the end with 3 deaths :) Once you get it, you get it! I really liked how this ties into the theme of the jam and thought it was really unique. Great work!
Only 3 deaths!! Congrats!! I'm glad you didn't had to die much, Thanks for playing, and i'm glad you liked the game!
this is amazing, I loooooved it for this theme, so creative!
glad you loved it!! Thanks so much for trying it out
What a really great idea about using your different senses to guide yourself. Wow! Really creative. And it fits the theme in a very abstract way (you can't trust one sense). I would really keep working on this mechanic and make it even bigger somehow. Great job!
We do intent keeping working a bit on it to see where this leads :) Thanks so much for playing! We're glad you enjoyed it.
I really loved the core idea of using three different senses to find your way out. I probably died around 30 times while experimenting, but the trial and error gameplay was genuinely fun. The visuals look fantastic and the mechanics fit the theme perfectly. Genuinely one of the few games I enjoyes this much so far
Thanks so much for the kind words, means a lot!
I liked the take on the theme and the gameplay, I think shrinking the map size into smaller levels would present the mechanics better.
Thanks for playing our game and thanks so much for the feedback! We definitely went way too big with the level, we figured that out a bit too late to act on it unfortunately but that's how game jams goes I guess. Glad you still liked the gameplay!
The icon art is great, the concept is super interesting. Takes a but to figure out what is going on with the buttons, but then it becomes quite fun.
Thanks for playing! Glad you found it fun :)
I liked it! Took a moment to realize how to properly use hearing haha, but once I did I could make it pretty far on my won without dying and having to start over.
Yeh sorry we barely had time to do proper playtesting, the level design requires a lot of improvement... but that's how jam goes I guess. :D I'm glad you liked it nonetheless, thanks for playing!
Took me off guard. Loved it
Thanks for playing, I'm glad you liked it!
This is such a cool concept! I'd love to see this expanded on
to be honest we would love to explore the concept further, it was a bit frustrating to craf all theses systems not to have enough time to properly level design and playtest :D Thanks for playing and glad you liked it!
I love it!! It's incredible, and I love both the idea and the art.
Thank you for playing! Glad you liked it
