I'm a massive fan of murder mysteries, and you nailed that classic 2000s aesthetic perfectly. I was glued to the screen the whole time trying to figure out the case (that maze was super cool, by the way!). Thanks for such an awesome experience.

Overall Game looks really good. Sticked to the theme part . Only suggestion is to improve the visual part.

In the middle of the game, google suddenly intruded and asked if i wanted to save the 'password'. Real life google! Not in-game google. You can imagine my reaction. Immersive enough, lol. Don't play in window mode if you don't want that kind of immersion like me. One of the best game i played in this jam. It is so well made. Love this. The old windows aesthetic, the picture you created, the music, the case, the flow, all perfect!

Developer

i was actually thinking about removing the password thingy, but a lot of people told me that it adds more impact to the game, so i decided to keep it! thank you so much for playing my game!

now i want to lie in a dark room, listen to music and cry.

i wish there was a bit more of the game, it's great though ended a bit abruptly </3

Developer(+1)

thank you for playing! there’s actually a bug at the end where, if you click on the letter.txt file that wasn’t supposed to appear, opening it will end the game. i’m glad the story was able to impact you in some way!

What a cool game! The atmosphere and story were so unsettling and intriguing!

What a great short story!

It was amazingly clean for a gamejam. Nice that you've put content warnings too :)

Thanks for the <winxp vibes, what a throwback.

Wow! This game was awesome! Probably one of the few I've played to the end. One of my favs of the fest.  This isn't even really my type of game, but it's really well done-- love the atmosphere, the old school vibes, and it's genuinely creepy and mysterious.  I can definitely see this as a full longer game.

Developer

thank you for playing, I really appreciate your comment!

Very awesome game, love the atmosphere. The game really pulls you in and fits the theme well.

damn your UI was so complete, very immersive! very polished and fantastic story! genuinely impressed!
Had a bug after closing the game by mistake my chat with Evan was reset, but i managed to finish the game anyway

Developer(+1)

thank you for playing! I'm aware of that bug and will fix it after the post-jam. thanks for letting me know!

Amazing game, liked the story and the twists. Visuals were amazing. A shame is kinda short, perfect for a jam, but definetly there is a lot of potential here.

Submitted

I love the style and the short story.

That's some great work you have done there! Well done!

WOW the UI felt so real - I can tell a ton of work went into making it feel like a real computer! I got stuck on one part where i clicked on one of the articles via the group chat message i believe and i couldn't figure out that i needed to find a second article until i looked at the cheat sheet, so really appreciate having that handy while giving players the ability to hunt around for the answers freely (: i was so immersed in it - would definitely be interested in an expanded version of this post-jam! 10/10 amazing

Developer

thank you for not giving up and for looking for the cheat sheet! I’m glad it helped you hehe

First few minutes were probably the most suspense I've felt from a game/movie in a long time. Something about it got to me. I wish we were able to type nonsense into the chat along with the responses you select though. Great job.

Developer

thank you for the suggestion! I'll see what I can do after the jam.

Your game reminded me of the movie Unfriended: Dark Web at the beginning

The story, UI and interaction system are great, well done!

Developer(+1)

that was one of my inspiration hehe. thank you for playing!

Interesting idea and great realisation, well done! I'm kinda disappointed there were no ghosts though.

Or weren't there?

Developer(+1)

thank you for playing! It's a psychological horror game, so I didn't want to go with ghosts. I wanted it to feel emotional but still thrilling. though I did sneak in a little hint of 👻 haha!

Cool little experience, love your visuals. The game looks and sounds great.

You've managed to keep your focus tight and it shows. Everything just flows nicely, great show of respect for your player's time.

Having the ending explained at the end may be a bit patronizing however, but that may just be me being prideful.

Excellent entry.

Developer

thank you! yeah, I just wanted to explain the ending a bit for players who aren't really familiar with how programs work. but yeah, I do agree from a programmer's perspective.

Hi, wow this is an incredibly good game for a jam ! I love narrative games and the story caught so well on me.

Your gameplay is simple but it works perfectly, visual and audio assets are well chosen and articulated together, I thought I knew the ending but you managed to surprise me (and I write stories too). I think you're in my top 5 played games (I've rated about 45 games so far) <3

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I'm really glad to hear that I'm one of your top games!

The audio, the graphics and the story were really awesome. I wished the story was longer and added a bit more to the relationship between the characters and what happened that night. I didn't manage to look at the messages of the other characters thinking it would be needed later in the game but seemed like it didn't and I couldn't read them. The OS was very detailed, you can see how much effort was put in this! Incredible game.

Developer(+1)

I agree. The characters need more impact. I wish I had more time to develop the story. I focused too much on the responsiveness and the interface. Thank you for the feedback!
