How does the game fit the theme?
You are a blacksmith working to provide weapons to a secret spy agency, but it has been infiltrated with frauds. You don't want the weapons going in the wrong hands, so you have to go off of the description given by the trusty courier nicknamed "No One" to identify the correct weapon recipients.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
Some art and all sound effects/music (credited in page details)

How many people worked on the game?

Honestly, the amount of work in this game is impressive though i do think it needed quite a bit more polish. I like the game loop, although im not so sure "blacksmithing" lines up with trust. Maybe the idea could be transformed to be more on theme, for example, you assemble weapons or drugs or something shady for people who are even shadier. You get orders from the boss with vague descriptions, and these people come in asking for it. It would fit the theme more, but would probably be alot of work to establish the atmosphere.

Also great job on tutorialization, its way better than alot of games in this game jam.

TLDR; i like the game concept (its a fun loop), needs more polish, not sure if the vibe fits the theme all too well.

I do think you bent the meaning of the theme a little bit too much, but I do actually really enjoy the game loop . Maybe it's a skill issue but I do think the tasks come and go a little too quick.

Really nice gameplay loop! I like the idea, the game has all that's needed, although it lacks some polish. Good work!

Developer

Thanks for playing! (:

Cute game! It took me a while to understand what I was supposed to do, but it was really fun once i got the hang of it.

Great work, loved the art style and simple gameplay though the timer was really stressful lol.

 Also note:

There were some small layering issues in the bottom of the map which you might want to check out once.

Thank you! & yes definitely wish we had time for a more interactive tutorial ): Oh we'll look into the layering issue - thank you for pointing that out! When you say bottom of the map, do you mean by the anvil/counter or in the very bottom of the room?

Bottom of the room. I can stand on the door.

I really like the game idea! It gives me Overcooked vibes but with a twist, where you have to figure out who actually ordered the melee weapon. I also agree that having a dash ability would make it easier to get to the workstations faster.

If you ever want to expand the game after the jam, I think it would be really cool to have different levels where the layout and workstations change each time to add more thrill. It feels a little repetitive right now, but I totally understand since this was made in just a week. These are just some suggestionsss.

I can really see the vision for this game. It’s an amazing concept! Great job!

Developer

Yesss exactly - we were trying a bit for that vibe so great to hear it landed and glad you enjoyed playing! Ooo  we originally set it up to have like 2 or 3 different workshop sizes as "upgrades/next levels" but the plan was more to keep the same layout just bigger w/ maybe an extra step - but that's actually a great point to set it up almost like Overcooked's levels to have many more and change the room layout each time. Thanks for the suggestion/feedback! (:

Nice game, really like the bg music choice as it fits very well thematically. Interesting idea for the theme, and the core gameplay is also pretty good, but  I felt like after a couple orders it was just more of the same thing. In terms of tutorial I think it would have been better to have the player do the action right after the specific dialogue, and then continue with the dialogue, so you don't risk the player forgetting what the first or last steps were. When the orders started piling up I found myself wishing there was some kind of sprint or dash cos I don't think there was really a way to be able to keep up with the frequency of the orders coming in. For the table to craft the handles, visually it might have helped to be able to see a few decorational handles, and the order table could have maybe had completed swords on it.

Overall, good job, I had some fun with this.

Developer

Thanks so much for the detailed feedback and for playing! That's such a great idea with adding sprint/dash as well as the handles/assembled swords near the stations - that would probably really help with clarity on where to go. I really wanted to have a "tutorial" round exactly as you're describing but we ended up running a bit short unfortunately ): I had a pretty steep learning curve w/ learning Godot for the first time and my teammate and I both only had a few days instead of all 9 to work, so its definitely a bummer we couldn't get to it.. but I think post- game jam I would love to implement all this you mentioned! Thanks again for taking the time to share your ideas/play!

This was fun to play! I think there's a lot of opportunity to add more stuff for strategy.
I do feel like it's quite easy to get far behind and feel overwhelmed.

Developer

Thank you for playing and yeahh balance was definitely the struggle and we had discussed ways to scale the game a bit, such as having "waves" and adding upgrades, but just couldn't get to it ): I think having those extra things would help with this but honestly going back and tweaking the settings a bit to slow stuff down might help too - thanks for your thoughts!

It was a good puzzle to find out who the order belonged to, I don't think the theme was incorporated very strongly, but that's alright. You guys made a fun game and you can be proud of it!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback and stopping by to play! (: & that's fair - we were trying to use the theme to set the context for the game but I can understand your point

The game is simple and cozy. I like how the music fits. Good job!

Developer

Thanks so much!

Simple and fun. I really enjoyed it when i "got it".
I think sending weapons to customers is  cool idea but I think theres too much information to check for each one.

Developer

Thanks so much for playing! Definitely was a balancing act of finding the right amount to add some challenge, so may need a bit more tweaking still - thank you for the feedback (:

Submitted(+1)

Pretty fun and simple one. Plays well but for all spy traits I quickly started looking only at the weight because it gives accurate information 100% of the time about who you need to pick.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing & thanks for the call-out! Our settings weren't fully working so we went in and tweaked it a bit and just removed the weight - that's a great call-out. We wanted to provide some easy look-up features and some that made you dig through a bit so hopefully the fix helps with that!

I really really enjoyed the game, this was so good! Time pressure of papers please combined with crafting and combining. It took me a while to grasp the combination and the dagger is a little too arrowhead looking, but apart from that its beautiful!

Developer

Thanks so much for playing and glad you enjoyed it! (:
