The music is amazing I could stay and listen to it all day great job. However regarding the game it if you could make the new game button bigger because it took me a while to even realise it was there thinking my pc had an issue and I also ended up getting cornered by one of the beasts so I couldn't move or do anything beside listen to the beautiful melody from the instruments (which isn't a total punishment since the music was lovely) but it was kind of annoying since it meant I had to close it and reopen it. However great job on this being your first game and I can tell you will do great in the future keep up the good work! :)

Very instrumental, very nice sounding. I didn't fully understand the game, but I won.

Let's start from the fact that there were 17k entries and from those, only 2300 submissions, that locates you already in the top 10% of developers in this jam!
The art and music is really nice, the 'new game' button was a little small so I didn't notice it at first 😅
I liked this concept and I think it can be a pretty cool game idea, though it needs more content and refinement. Congrats on your first game! Good luck on your dev journey 😁

The cover art and music were really nice! I would make the "start game" button a bit bigger and maybe add a bit more gameplay.

The art is gorgeous and the idea is interesting, though I'm afraid the game wasn't working for me as intended, the instruments window refused to close like on the screenshots and my character kept going out of the screen boundaries. Also had a funny UI bug happen

Developer (3 edits) (+1)

Oh did you press tab? I assume you did since you realised you could, but if you didn't, press tab! Sorry for the buggy experience :(

P.S. That UI bug is beautiful

Simple and short. Loved the cover art of this and the general idea. At first I was like "why is there no sound" and then I realized why you chose to go with no background music. A couple of things I think could help this and could be helpful in your future games: 1 - A full screen mode. It's easy enough to add in godot, and would make the buttons and text easier to read than in the browser. (I'm just assuming the download version does this by default). 2  - Maybe a few sound effects for when you move or the creatures move or when you click the menu button/switch instruments. I'd always try for audio and visual feedback to any interaction the player takes.

Still, a solid entry for a first game. Bonus points for going with isometric 2d art (I've been reluctant to try that, lol). Congrats on the game!

What a peaceful sounding game! I really LIKE the music! Its awesome and the way it layers with each other is awesome. The gameplay does need a bit of work though but completely understandable considering its the programmer's first time learning game programming, with what you already have, I would say its quite amazing for your first time! The art is also immaculate but I do feel like the tiles could've blended with each other a bit more. Overall, the game still needs a bit of polish but the framework is already there! I highly encourage you guys to keep working on this! Great work!!

Thank you so much for your kind comment!! We might take your suggestion and continue working on this when we have time since we had plenty of things that are left unfinished. I am personally very flattered that you liked the music quite a bit haha, it means a lot!!

Nice game and concept ! The music menu is gorgeous, congrats !!!

Developer(+1)

Thank you!! Glad you enjoyed the concept and the music :)

Wow the music was so BEAUTIFUL 5/5 and i love the concept of the game so much! Great job for a first attempt at a new game engine - i was also using a new engine for this jam and man it takes so long to learn )': but kudos to you and your team for growing/learning and building the base for a beautiful game!

Developer

Thank you for the  compliments! Yeah it was a struggle learning game dev; it feels like I'm definitely learning though!

What a lovely game. I loved the concept and gameplay. Just simple and calming. Really loved the art and music <3

Developer(+1)

Thanks! We had so many ideas that we didn't end up being able to implement so I'm happy the gameplay was still enjoyable!

I can't seem to operate the windows version, but that could just be my laptop! The cover is really pretty so I can only assume the game is great :]. Congrats on your first jam!!

Developer (1 edit) (+2)

SORRY none of us own a windows computer, but we will find a way to see if it is just your laptop or if it’s genuinely buggy!! Thank you for commenting anyway :)

Submitted

Absolutely!! Feel free to reply to this again if you get it working! I'd love to give it a go.

I didn't change the windows build at all, but added a web version. It's a bit lower res and small so maybe not as good as the desktop but it should work at least!

Submitted(+2)

It did work!! I was super excited to try it out. Right away I loved the music and the art and the ending killed me lol. Movement was smooth and great and yeah! Great game :DD!!

Beautiful Visuals and audio- I like the idea of testing hypothesis and using music, but im not sure i fullyunderstood why the first level was a lie! That said i really enjoyed the experience

Developer

You know what that's totally fair (referring to the part about not understanding why the first level was a lie) !! This is more so a shell of our original idea after all :sob: Thank you for checking the game out!!

The different instrument tracks were well made and the layering when all 3 were playing at the same time was awesome! I did 2nd play through to just listen to them again! The art is also wonderful especially the title screen / Itch.io logo illustration.

I also second that the text and font in game could be bigger and maybe black, since the white tends to fade into the blue background.

Also big props on going in with new engine in such a short time! Hope you had fun, learned a lot and continue this continue further after the jam :D

Developer (1 edit)

Oh my goodness thank you for recognising our ideas!! Genuinely flattered that you relaunched the game just to listen to it again :sob: I really appreciate your encouragement :) We have fixed the font size, hopefully this helps!!

This game is really neat. I'd love to see were this project goes in the future!

Developer

Thanks! :)

The cover of this game is sooo pretty! And I love the music and visuals. The art is really pretty and ethereal. A fun and relaxing game :> I just thik the font size should be a bit bigger hahah, had to squint to read

Developer

Thank you for your feedback!! The font size is now fixed (as of a day or two ago? I don't remember) and I appreciate your compliments :)

Really cool concept for a game :) I'd love to see this expanded upon.
Even though the game was a bit short, it was pretty relaxing to play!
+ the music was very good

Developer(+1)

Thanks!! I'm very flattered
There was in fact a lot more to our idea but we didn't realise how hard it was to learn the game engine within a week!! Maybe we will keep updating the game after the game jam :)
