How does the game fit the theme?
To go deeper in the dungeon, you have to listen to what the numbers tell you. Obviously for this jam, they all tell the truth, except the number one.
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
- the backgrounds: by Free Game Assets
- the musics: by JHawk
- the sound effects: by DavidDumaisAudio, Dragon-Studio, artisticdude, dorkster, AleXZavesa and Nathan Gibson
- the shaders: by binbun, Juulpower, enekoassets and Oriol - Rough skin
All of the other assets and the code were made by me (T tee).

Really nice work. One of the best logic games I have played in this jam. Except I happened to encounter one or two cases where number 1 is also saying the truth. I don't know if it was a game design or bug. It happened during floor 47 to 49. Other than that it got me hooked. Well done!
Thank you!
The number 1 should not tell the truth... So it was either a bug, or there was another possible configuration of numbers that worked for this level
Sadly, without a screenshot of the level, we can't really tell what it was. In a newer version of the game (that I didn't upload yet), the current seed is displayed. This makes it much simpler to analyse such situations, and it's a shame I didn't think of adding that before :(
I'm still glad you had fun playing my game :)
As a programmer, I loved these logic puzzles! The music, visuals, HUD was all very well thought out. The tutorial was very clear, and the game was easy to get into. The game loop is very enjoyable, and you nailed the theme about trusting no "1". Excellent job!
Edit: I do hope you get to 20 ratings before the rating period. It would be a shame if all your hard work didn't count. This was easily one of the top jam games I've played!
I cannot believe this game has so few ratings! It’s incredibly well put together! I completed it fully (it takes about an hour)! It’s engaging, it’s fun, it’s great! Excellent work on this one! I believe you’ll be in the top, easily! :)
I noticed that when you hit the “New run” button, the icons for the shop change, so there’s even replay value here! You should be charging for this one! Great work! Amazing work!
It’s my favorite entry of the jam so far! Congratulations! :)
PERFECT SCORE FOR THIS ONE RIGHT HERE!

Post-game?

Really cool game and surprisingly difficult! Took me a long while, but I eventually finished the game! I never really had to use the items though nor did I have to buy any of the charms, as I didn't notice any impossible rooms after the example.
The art is great, everything feels very alive due to the animations! The music is also great, though it does get a little repetitive after an hour or so XD
Game fits the theme well, and everything feels very polished! Had a lot of fun deducting all the possible options, the later puzzles were fun especially!
Did notice a few very little inconsistencies, though do correct me if I'm wrong, as for some reason I make false math problem accusations quite often lol

I know the 1 and left 5 are interchangeable in this one, though I feel like 5 should be correct nonetheless

Same thing here, everything is correct if I'm not mistaken
These are very minor things though, and should be easy to fix I think! Nonetheless it's a really nicely made game. Great job, especially for a solo-dev! Definitely one of the most challenging games I've played this jam :D
Heyy! Thank you for your positive feedback!
Congrats on finishing the game too, I might have made it a bit too long for a game jam haha
About the screenshots you sent, these rooms are in fact impossible rooms. So you did in fact encounter rooms where there were multiple solutions.
The first one was A(1) - B(5) - C(5) but could have been A(5) - B(5) - C(1) exactly as you said ^^. Since there are multiple solutions, it is an impossible room, and that would have been a good occasion to use the magnifying glass from your inventory
The second room you made a screenshot of also has multiple solutions, thus making it an impossible room too
Don't hesitate to ask more about it if I wasn't clear enough!
It's actually quite impressive that you never really had to use items in fact, because you're supposed to encounter a few of these rooms in a run, so I guess you must be pretty good at the game :D
Also, a few comments for this entry suggested me that it would be best to remove impossible rooms, but then it makes the item system a bit pointless... I'm not sure about I could have handled it, but if you ever have any suggestions, I'll be glad to hear them :D
Thanks again for finishing my game, it means a lot to me, especially since it's quite challenging as you said :>
This is honestly such a great game, it deserves way more ratings. Super polished, original and fun to play, really good job. A tiny bit of constructive feedback:
-I would have liked the difficulty to ramp up a bit faster as it was quite easy to figure out where the 1 was in the first few rounds which made finding the other numbers easy as well. I think it would be good to force people to use items sooner.
-Item tooltips.
Two very very minor things but apart from that it's such a good game, really well done.
Excellent work!
I loved the artwork, sounds, theming, and gameplay!
Two things I think could really add to your game:
- tooltip descriptions for items
- dialogue from the shopkeeper (think like the shopkeeper in Slay the Spire) - little things like that can add a lot!
Great submission, especially as a solo dev. Cheers!
Thank you! I appreciate the feedback :> I agree, it would have been a lot funnier for the shopkeeper to have a few lines instead of just staring at your mouse pointer. And for the items, I wanted them to be a bit mysterious and to make it so you'd need to use them to understand how they work. But maybe a small clue to when to use them could have been helpful now that I think about it...
Thanks again, I'm really glad you appreciated my game ^^
The art and game mechanics are good. I enjoyed it! I think the items could have descriptions explaining what they do.
Thank you! My idea initially was to make the items a bit mysterious and you'd have to learn about them as you use them (so no real meta-progression, more like a knowledge based progression). But for a game jam, since most people only play a single run, I can see that it would have made more sense to add descriptions, as you mentioned.
I got through the first set of floors and it is a quite fun game! The visuals are especially polished, it really doesn't look like a game made in just a week, so kudos for that.
This is a fun concept! Some rooms being impossible was a little infuriating, especially because the first room I got was impossible, but other than that it's a really good entry!
Thank u :)
The first two rooms are actually scripted to be possible, and the third to be impossible (the third one being the room where you learn how to use a specific item)
In every room, you can see what the numbers in it are by looking at your crystal ball. The number '1' in the first room is scripted to always say that itself is a number that you don't see in your crystal ball. Since this is a lie, you can guess it's the number '1'... (For example, you see '1' and '8' in your crystal ball, and one of the cages says "I'm the number 6". This is a lie since there is no number 6 on the level)
But yeah, by trying to explain it, it sounded a bit tricky, maybe I should have made the first room easier, or given more information in the tutorial :0
And about impossible rooms later in the game, I also added items to prevent these from being to annoying to deal with. But since the number of impossible rooms you get on a playthrough is random, the game lacks a bit of balancing. It could clearly be something good to work on to improve the game.
Thanks again for the nice and informative comment ^^
If it was scripted to be possible, there must've been a bug. The first room I got was with 1 and 7 in the crystal ball, A:"The cage to my right is 1", B:"I am 7". This works both with B as 7 or B as 1.
I think if you want to expand the game, you should probably get rid of the impossible rooms entirely. I completely understand the limitations of the jam, and I understand how complicated it is to do that logic, so I'm not holding any of this against the game. It was still a very fun concept and great art style that reminds me a lot of Die in the Dungeon!
Yeah, it's a pretty good idea and that's actually what I wanted to do in the first place, but since I didn't know how much time it would take me, it was a lot faster to generate random rooms as you mentioned. I might expand it like that in the future though :>
Thanks again for your positive feedback, I haven't played Die in the Dungeon, but after searching images of the game, it surprisingly looks similar in some ways haha. I might go for this style again in future projects if it looks nice
That was great execution on the idea!! I really enjoyed the levels and the deduction is very fun (went through 30 levels in one sitting lol). However, I did think that some of the items were too powerful. Will try to actually beat this game some time :)
Really really fun game! I enjoyed it a lot. Clever spin on the theme, and the visuals in this game are gorgeous. Really great work!
This game was super fun! I was having trouble figuring out what some of the items did without using them so we just ended up playing without the items; the logic got quite nice.
great concept and execution! but the music was quiet so i didnt think it had any at first
I really liked this one, the UI and overall style are great.
I see music is mentioned above, but I could not hear any.
