How does the game fit the theme?
If everyone trusts everyone else then everyone gets points and a bonus, but if you can blow up 2 other bombs 1 one shot then you get more points.

Will you trust everyone else? Or will you trust no one...

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
3rd party assets used:

* JetBrains Mono font
* Floor 5 from https://lynocs.itch.io/texture-pack
* https://freesound.org/people/Paul368/sounds/411559/
* https://freesound.org/people/kirkpatrick.live/sounds/495367/
* https://freesound.org/people/steel2008/sounds/231277/

Built using godot with a go backend.

The bombs are a polygon circle with a stroke, created in code. I drew the feet, eyes, and fuses in Affinity. The spark and explosions are polygon stars created in code.

I made the background music in the chrome music maker experiment: https://musiclab.chromeexperiments.com/Song-Maker/song/6010225546625024

The client & server communicate via protobuf over websocket using a custom protocol. I opted for simple, and stupid. It only forwards input deltas, everyone reports explosions, and the server trusts the clients.

Building a fast-paced multiplayer party game during a short jam is a huge achievement—and pulling off a Bomberman/Paper Mario inspired prisoner's dilemma with bombs is brilliant! The immediate tension, high-stakes thrill, and party game potential make this one of the most unique multiplayer concepts in the jam.

A few feature and balance ideas to consider for your post-jam expansion:

- Point Rebalancing & Scoring: Tweak point values so going for immediate kills after the first bomb goes off isn't always the dominant strategy.

- Multi-Round Match System: Implement a series of consecutive rounds where player scores stack up across matches to deepen the competitive rivalry.

- Audio & Juice: Normalize the main SFX volume slightly so heavy explosions don't overpower the music tracks.

- Content & Stage Variety: Add a few unique map layouts or stage hazards to keep rounds unpredictable.

Super addictive concept with massive couch co-op potential! If you get a free moment, I'd really appreciate your thoughts on my jam entry as well: /jam/brackeys-16/rate/4953523

This is a great and simple idea! I think the points may need slight rebalancing as once one bomb goes off its always ideal to try and go for a kill. But nonetheless well done!

I don't know why people are not going bananas over this game. I love it. It's super super simple, but so well done, so well balanced, and the idea of it is just great. I would love it to be a multiplayer game, and I would love it to be several levels where our scores stack up. This game really has potential.

Wow. Thank-you. Very kind comments. Makes me want to put more effort into this once the jam is done :)

Good theme fit! A multiplayer submission is very unique. Could definitely see it being expanded into more rounds/modes for that classic party game experience.

Cool concept which I could see being expanded perhaps with more players or a bigger variety of stages. Reminds me of bomberman which I love. The audio is a bit loud but I did enjoy the music!

This was awesome! Great job!

Lightning-fast game. Original and right on the subject. Kudos for multiplayer. A set of several matches with the same group of players, and with a total result, could be a possible expansion.

I like the game and love the title. As someone else said it would be ideal to play with others especially local or with voice chat

I love the prisoner dilemma here. Cool idea

Very cool game design, good job!

I like the concept of it, the artstyle is cool and it reminds me of Paper Mario. (Maybe Paper Mario visual with Mario Party minigames type vibe).

Fun idea! Feels like the prisoner's dilemma but in bomb form!

Got exploded almost instantly, what a thrill. Great concept!

Fun concept! Could make for a great multiplayer/party game if/when fully fleshed out.
