Very original concept and execution! I plucked two chicken but the Fill Target stayed on 200, and I also didn't get any feedback if I actually 'collected' the feathers. I probably did it wrong. Anyway, enjoyed the music and the general mechanic. Great work!
that poor chicken…
well made game!
Wow! Super creative game. I love the art and animation. The hand movement felt really good. I wish filling the object with feathers was less finicky. The true MVP of this game is the music. Amazing song. Fantastic job!
Probably the most unique control scheme of the jam! Great work!
Very clever use of the theme! Took me a second to understand but it was fun once I got going. Good work!
Wow that's banger!
Your sound team went the extra mile; the only jam game I've seen with its own lyrics. It was oddly satisfying to shake the birds for a plucking. Unfortunately I wasn't sure exactly where to place the feathers, even know I had to be very precise with them. Neat progress bar with power ups.
Yeah this might just be my favorite game of the jam. Only one issue I ran into: I didn't know if my plucks were counting in the beginning. I think I plucked around 20 birds before I saw the pop up and realized all of my feathers were lost LOL. Unlocking new birds and having the progression bar made me want to see through the whole game. A fun mechanic, great sfx to match, and the song of the jam all in one package. No notes y'all, great job. I've got feathers to pluck.
Definitely an original idea! I especially loved the design and how smoothly the wrist and fingers move. Tbh I felt kind of sad for them.
A lot of birds!
Can't say I've played a chicken plucking game before! Very unique take on the theme! I really enjoyed the actual plucking, but really wasn't sure if I was successfully placing the feathers or not due to the lack of feedback there. But a very fun entry for sure!
Splendid! I loved the game’s humor and innovative controls. Also the artwork was amazing and the music felt fun to listen to. I found it kind of hard to pluck the birds at first, but it gets easier once you get used to the hand’s movement. Nice job! The most creative game I’ve played so far.
So weird and random - Great job! :D
This feels like a fever dream. I had a great time
One point of feedback: I wasn't sure if I was actually stuffing the target. e.g. I swear I put 10 lots of filling into the rat, but both attempts I apparently only got 70%? Maybe a sfx and/or visual cue signalling a successful stuffing would have helped me out.
Thank you for playing! i definitely understand why you'd say fever dream xD
Also, that is such a fair feedback. it seems that you're not alone in the confusement. If we do come out with a future update, it will both have better tutorial, better successful soundeffect and probably a visual effect too. it must be frustrating to think it's getting stuffed when in reality it didn't count.
♫ chicken chicken chicken chicken goose ♪ <-- That song is going to be stuck in my head all week now. I hope you're happy.
This game was way more fun than it had any right to be! The controls were janky in such a qwop-tastic, intentional way, and I appreciated the way the game always made it possible for me to back-derive my down count if I did lose track. I do wish that the Birds/Items buttons had icons on them, though, and more obvious highlighting when they were selected, since it took me a while to figure out what was going on with those. It also took me a hot second to realize I had to stuff the mattress and not just drop the feathers into the hole. I also had an issue where my mouse would go off the game area and the game would freeze due to losing focus, though that is definitely because I have a second monitor, not really the fault of the game itself.
But overall, it was a surprisingly zen experience to catch birds and steal their down! Also, that background music unironically elevates the whole experience - it's both chill and absolutely jamming.
Thank you for your very generous feedback! I'm really glad you liked the game :D
I 100% agree about all of your feedback. The menu was slightly rushed, which is why it feels a little unfinished and the mouse going out of the game is incredibly annoying and we were unable to fix it in time unfortunately. We have also thought about the whole "feather stuffing" situation, and if we do bring an update after the jam, that is 1st on the list to be polished! in fact, i think dropping the feathers into the hole and the amount being displaying could make for a lot more fastpaced and intuitive gameplay :D
Last thing.. Can i just say, that swan in your pfp might just inspire a new bird type xD
Chicken chicken chicken chicken, swan swan swan!
(cue the two of us sitting here trying to figure out how to make swan noises)
"does this sound like a swan or a monkey??"
I love how we both had "down" related games! The direction you took is so interesting! Love the art!
You know already that I love the interpretation of the theme!
The controls aren't easy to master, but well worth the effort. Chuckled every single time I got hold of a bird! Great job.
Great job! Very creative control-scheme and mechanics to meet the "Count Down" theme!
Haha this is really fun game! Great game in a short time! I think the theme and the graphics work really well! And also the music fit well!
This is CRAZY, and I mean that in the best possible way. It made me laugh, it made me angry but most of all it made sure that I won't be forgetting it in a hurry. The graphics are gorgeous, the music is perfect for this kind of game and the sfx are just *chef's kiss*. Amazing job!
Thank you for playing our game, i'm glad you enjoyed it! I love that it managed to take you through a whole roller coaster of emotions haha
