That was fun to play even in the early access version you posted in #gwj-work-in-progress. Now I'm really amazed how polished it is. Really good job!
Its gotta be hard to make combat feel good in a week, but you did. Hats off to you!
Nice game. I didn't liked that when I attack enemy I lose control over my character. I just can't really maneuver in the crowd is what I'm saying. Also. as other pointed out, starting a room with a charge and health from previous room is really punishing. Other than that it's a great game with good visuals and music
Really nice entry! We loved the period, and comma.
This is seriously soooo polished! The art and sound are amazing, the controls feel smooth and effortless. And so much content packed into a single jam! The visual effects of the swings and hits, the small pause on hit; everything felt so good. Seriously end to end this is amazing work :D
this was awesome combat felt amazing not to mention the effects and everything else could do with making it a little easier for noobs like me but amazing work
Good snappy action and nice Radiant Silver Gun type gimmick!
Very nice! I think the change you made to gaining charge by attacking projectiles rather than standing still and absorbing them is a strong one! Turns the game into a lot more of an active experience!
Yep! Great look, love the particle effects especially. Nice work both! ( Sorry i never got back to you with your questions to my feedback! It's been a busy week ): )
This was pretty fun! I did find a little annoying that once I started swinging I felt like I lost control of the character for a bit, but maybe that was to emphasize a big swing. As others have said this felt pretty brutal to play difficulty wise, but I did enjoy the different enemies and trying to catch the bullets with the sword. Nice work!
Thank you so much for playing! We're hoping to adjust the difficulty to be a bit more balanced in a future version. Glad you enjoyed overall :)
Why r the controls comma and period??? Anyways, cool game you got there!
Honestly, I don't know! I guess they feel like a good fit with WASD controls? We actually support Arrows + ZX as an alternate if you prefer. But what controls do you think we should have used?
We support gamepad too!
Probably my favourite game I've played this jam? Super polished, great fun gameplay, quite tough but I found myself wanting to play more every time I died. Sensational job, I loved it.
Thank you so much for trying it out! We'll definitely tune the difficulty in a post-jam version. 馃憤
Really enjoyed you and ryan taking the time to stream the game today! We got a huge kick out of seeing you work through the game!
Very cool game! Idk if it's intended but I dont like that you start the room with the charge and life you ended the last room; I restart teh game 4 times to get to the last room with enought health to be able to deffeat the boss. Also, I miss the opportunity of deciding if I want to consume my energy or not.
Very cool and very challenging game, good job!
It was intended, but perhaps too punishing for a jam build. We hoped there was enough charge canisters to let you heal up before the final encounter. But I'm happy you made it to end despite being a little rough in the balance department!
Awesome game! Crazy all the work for just the jam, I thought the art was great. Charge mechanic was well done
Thanks! Really glad you had fun.
This was so smooth to control and I loved the feedback of hitting/destroying enemies. It took me a while to get the hang of absorbing charge from bullets but when I got it right it felt really cool :). The amount of enemy and attack varieties that you managed to add that still feel fair is really impressive for a few days. Well done.
Very neat game!
Really glad you stuck with it! We tried to make some fun systems for people to discover if they put some practice in. I know that's probably unwise for a jam game where people tend to move on really quick, but I'm happy you discovered the flow of combat we intended!
Amazing artstyle, and the controls feel great too. Really talented stuff, congrats!
Thank you so much for trying it out! :)
Love the art style. Really polished gameplay too! Great work
Thanks so much! I'm really happy you enjoyed it. :)
one of the coolest games so far
So glad you enjoyed it!
Really fantastic job on the art. Loved the enemy variety too. I couldn't really get a handle on the charge mechanic, the instructions said to hold the attack button and sometimes I felt like that worked and others I didn't. Perhaps some visual cues to show when it is and isn't working could help.
Whoops, that is actually from a previous version, we cut that out. Thanks for playing! :)
Sorry about the stale instructions! I updated them. There are two ways to gain charge.
It was kinda fun. One thing that i found annoying was the restart make you reload the room with the health you got when you enter. But if you enter with no health then reloading won鈥檛 help at all. I agree that reloading the room full health would be broken but it could help during the jam.
The dash is really broken with how little cd he got Overall it was fun, i just found the charge mecanics a bit underwhelming as often just ramming into the enemy deal more dps than waiting occasion to charge ourself since the damage is for only the next shot and it consume all. Whell the theme is here as i literally just charge at the enemy XD
Thanks for playing. Hope you still enjoyed it overall.
