Cool-looking endless runner game! :D

I like that you didn't introduce the punch right away. Great decision! :)
The art is charming and the animations are smooth, congrats! <3

Developer

Thank you for the kind words and taking the time to play our game!

Thank you for playing!

Fun game and a unique take on the theme i think! Art work was great and i loved the general idea! I did sometimes get hit when i thought i the path was clear, perhaps some clearer lane signposting/snapping to a lane would have helped me?
Other than that, i thought it was a nice entry. Good job both.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback and glad you enjoyed the game! I agree the movement/getting stuck feels weird. I want to try a lane approach where you jump to different lanes rather than have the smooth movement and see how that feels. Or play with the physics settings so you can always push things.

Had fun with this for a bit, it would have been cool if diffrent items gave difreant scores and especialy juking the gnomes as it would incurage risking going for them at eveary oportunity. The art and polish are great as well as the audio as well as the veery large array of seting even if i didn't mess with them at all, Quite stable never crashed and no game breaking bugs as well as almoust no jank, did 2 runs one i managed to reach the end and the second time I lost but got significantly more score by mashing j and keeping to the left border of the screen, only real bug is theat after wining you can still control the caracter wile writing your name for the leaderboard but it dosen't realy break anything. It's fun for a bit but kind of easy as spaming the slide makes you not get hit for a wile it and the cooldown before doing another is verry smal, it would work better if it had a drawback like a small period whear you start  to lose ground to the gnomes and can't manuver.

Wow, thank you for the detailed feedback! I have been thinking about how I might want to change things and I think first up is how you control the character and second is the scoring system. I am thinking of trying to have the character jump into lanes and slots rather than free movement and adding more of a cooldown to the slide so you can’t spam it. The tackling the scoring. I think the fun of the game is the juggling and definitely love that that is how people are scoring so much. I like your idea of scoring on the gnomes too. Thank you again for taking the time to write this up!

Thanks for replying! I never expected that giving feedback would be this fun, I think that if you are going to be switching to a lane sistem it would be fun to tie the "doging" withi it like maybe it would let the player throw the items to the lane they are going if timed right and maybe making difrent types of items be more or less bouncy, like some items just jump once and then stop moving while others bounce foward like a ball multiple times, could realy break up the rithem and make the game have a higher skill sceling wille not messing with the floor that much. Thanks for making a game for me to give feedback to too !

Nice work! I have the high score for now :P

Simple and fun! I enjoyed slamming through objects and spinning gnomes around, and I liked the hand-drawn art style. Controls could be tuned a bit since they felt float-y and I was getting stuck on stuff a lot. But solid game overall, would love to see it developed more! Great work!

Developer

Thank you for playing and the feedback. I totally agree about the controls

Its impossible to slide-kick a gnome and not have a good time.
And I've always said that

Amazing, thank you for playing!

  • Love the click-y buttons
  • Leaderboard!
  • Curse you character limit. Fishwishdi it is
  • Movement is a little slide-y
  • The tutorial is very well done.

I think the meta is positioning yourself towards the middle of the screen and not touching left or right—you end up "juggling" a bunch of stuff. I managed to get to 1304 with a massive pile of stuff that kept giving me points, haha

Thanks for taking the time charge through our game and smash the leaderboard.
It does appear you found the optimal path. Well played.
Thank you for the feedback.

I love everything about this comment. You made my day. Thank you!

This was a fun game, though there was one major bug: a cricket crashing a dinner party :P

But like seriously tho, the artwork is stellar, and the gameplay loop, while simple, is fun enough. There is a pretty easy exploit of just mashing J. I got a score above 600 by just doing that.

Developer(+1)

oh wow, that is way higher than I got while testing. Wonder if I should have put a cooldown timer on the slide so you can’t just smash it. Glad you enjoyed playing!

Beautiful artwork!

Loved the art, and the overall presentation.  In terms of gameplay I feel this could benefit with a faster ramp in difficulty and a bit more variety in terms of obstacles.  I found myself sticking a strategy where I stayed in the middle of the route and pressing J to slide whenever gnomes appeared.  Aside from that, the game is super polished, great work!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! I think there was a mis on my part allowing you to press J as much as you wanted. We cut the scope of different obstacles, but I agree that would have added more interest.

Super fun! I liked the mechanic where objects i'd hit would come bouncing down again so i could hit them again. You did a good job of telegraphing the gnomes appearing with the flashing ones in each lane too, which help make it more of a game of skill than randomness.  Introducing the slide midway was cool too, I like that it just taught me right when I needed it.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the feedback! I was really hoping things were clear and you knew just what you needed in the moment to not overwhelm you. I happened upon the bouncing which became my favorite way to play. Reminded me of trying to keep a ballon off the ground (while also trying to dodge angry gnomes)

Really fun, i didn’t expect it to have an end honestly but the art and animation it gave me some castle crasher vibe, i really like it.

I did encounter some minor bug:

  • Sometimes there was some invisible obstacle that block me from going down. But also at time, object that we kick around block me from going up. This seam to occure when you try to puch it without prior momentum. Just a bit annoying not being able to move where i wanted.

It’s still minor and didn’t hinder the experience at all so great job ^^ Also you even made a leaderboard that’s neat

Developer

Thank you for the feedback and reporting the bug. I agree there is something when you hit an object but don’t have momentum you can kind of get stuck. I’ll have to look into what is happening there. I think it is related to only applying a force on objects when you first hit them, and it applies your velocity, which could be 0…. I am not familiar with castle crasher but now I want to look it up.

Amazing artwork, and the idea of a leaderboard is neat too! Great job overall, I can see this one doing well. :)
