Very pretty to look at and soothing sounds as well. Fits the theme also pretty well. Great job!

I really like the visual style! I also found the gameplay to be engaging and the mystery fun! Nice one!

Interesting idea, and cool art style. Feels really polished and well-made. I thought it might be more convenient to have ingredients list separately, but it's good there is such a feature either way.

Developer

Thank you :) yeah that makes sense, it might be inconvenient to click between the tabs to check the ingredients

料理のイメージが美味しそう! 食べたくなったけど、毒が入ってないやつで頼む

Developer

Haha, thank you :D I was hungry when I drew it

Nice jam entry here! Like the visuals and how complex the game actually is. I you have to do the whole investigation to get your self out alive.

The only thing that felt of for me is music, it is nice by itself, but sad and somewhat depressing. But this is just a personal opinion, so don’t take that to serious.

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much! :) That was actually the vibe we were going for when we picked the music, something that doesn't sound too cheerful but still fits the art style haha

Really clean UI presentation and easy UX. I'd like the chef text to appear faster.
What's the point of clicking the ingredients in the list?

I couldn't figure out level one though!

Developer

In the ingredient list you can mark ingredients that you know are safe already so you don't have to keep that information in your head. It is not required to be able to solve the levels, just something for the player to make tracking stuff easier. It was actually intended to be tied to the dishes at first, so that if you mark the dishes safe the ingredients in them get automatically marked as safe as well. We implemented it and only after that realized that that would break my second puzzle :D So we took it back out, but I agree the list does feel a bit unnecessary now.

I'm sorry you weren't able to solve the level! Balancing puzzles is hard and I'm not very good at it yet :D Thank you for playing! :)

Cool idea for the theme, having to trust the cooks while knowing one of them is lying was pretty fun. I liked how it's just 5 dishes and mouse only, super easy to jump into, though keeping all the ingredient info in my head got a bit messy haha. The art is very nice too, good stuff :)

Thank you for playing! :)

Really cute style and well drawn :)

I enjoyed the social deduction aspect. Figuring out the liar was kinda tough for me as I couldn’t focus well enough to keep track of three statements, three poisons, 8 dishes with a bunch of ingredients each.

Overall this was a great little game and I have to give my kudos to the chefs!

Developer

Thank you very much! Yeah, with puzzles it's always a bit hard to balance the difficulty so that everybody can enjoy the game and not struggle too much or feel like it was too easy. I do not have enough experience with puzzles yet to be able to do that in such a short time frame, but I enjoyed making them :D

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Yes there is only two levels, the puzzles were kind of hard to come up with and we ran out of time to do more

I really liked the game and the style and I hope you might expand on this idea in the future, because I would definitly play more of it.

FooDeath has a really fun concept and is the kind of game you can genuinely get deep into. It’s not just about guessing the right answer — you have to collect clues, take notes, follow the logical chain, and eventually piece everything together to reach the solution.

And true to the theme, “trust no one,” you really can’t trust anyone. Every piece of information feels like it could be important, misleading, or both, which makes solving the puzzles even more satisfying.

The artwork is also very well done, and the music has a chill vibe that fits perfectly with sitting down and thinking through the clues. It creates a really nice atmosphere for puzzling things out at your own pace.

Overall, a very fun and clever game with a lot more depth than you might expect at first glance.

Is this an AI generated summary?

Submitted

I made notes what i wanted to convey and used Ai for spelling and smooth word flow.

I wish I could skip their talking, but eventually I barely needed it. Great stuff! wish there was more! was really hoping it was procedural, so I could play it a bunch. :(

Developer

Thank you so much for playing! I did consider if I could come up with a way to procedurally generate the puzzles to still have a unique solution, but ultimately decided it would take wayy too long to figure it out. Maybe something for the future :)
