How does the game fit the theme?
Seriously, trust no one in the Trusty Super Market! Well, except for Derek.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
Visuals: Most of the super market level models and textures, playable character and NPC models. Weapons' models and textures. Locker's animation.
Sounds: Pistol and Shotgun sound.
For more information and link to the sources, check "CREDITS" section from game's itch page.
Programming and music were done by me from scratch.

I love low poly PS1 games and I like graphics in this game but it needs much more better tutoral and particles

Developer

Thank you for your great feedback! I will surely work on the mentioned problems.

I'm a sucker for lowpoly psx style games and this one is very well made 5/5 for visuals,  enjoyed the gameplay too, gj!

Developer

Wow thanks very much!

This game gave me retro, PS2 style vibe and I loved it!

Shooting zombies was very satisfying, the audio matched the retro visuals and the whole vibe was spooky in the best of ways

I will mention however that I experienced a few lag spikes, but I still really enjoyed my time.

Also I didn't manage to find the secret ending :( but at least I got to have Derek save me :D

Really nice entry :)

Thanks so much for giving it a try!

Nice game! The supermarket was nicely made and came off as unsettling. The game reminds me of the older resident evil games. My only critiques would be lag and the length, the experience is too short! There are a few bugs here and there, such as the lockers when spamming E restarts the opening animation,

and the supply room door after opening is inside the wall.

The lag spikes were most prominent at the start of the game, and when turning on the flashlight the first time. The lag went away after 1 minute or so when starting a new run. None of these things were game breaking, but could be some nice improvements.

The combat and shooting mechanics were really well done, and if you continue development, adding muzzleflashes as a light source could be really cool. While not an issue on my behalf, you could maybe also add a sensitivity slider?

I played the game in the browser edge.

That was all. Really nice game! It was a good experience.

Thanks for you feedback! I'll make sure to take care of these bugs and will surely try to improve the game. I was worried about the short length but it tuned out working great as most of the players tried to finish it a couple of time to experience all aspects of the level and find the secret ending. But yeah I have to add more lengthy levels to it in the future. Thanks very much for trying it and for bug reports.

Really like the setup with the supermarket shift and all those weird rules after 1 AM. The whole Derek thing makes it feel pretty unsettling and gives you that constant feeling that something is off. Nice atmosphere and a really cool way to use the “Trust No One” theme. Definitely makes me curious about the secret ending too.

Developer

Thank you for giving it a try! If you seek through the comment section here, some have just uncovered the secret ending!

I had some performance issues even in the downloaded version but it wasn't too bad. I thought the game was fun, I like the graphics and enjoyed the music a lot. I played it through a couple of times checking everything I could but couldn't find the secret ending. Oh well, I had a good time with it!

Developer

Thanks for trying it out! I tried not to make it so lengthy so people could go a few more runs and experience different aspects of the game. For the performance issue I am totally aware of that and am gonna fix it first thing after the jam finished. Also look through this comment section as some of them already revealed the secret ending :)

Haha I made sure the water was running every time I walked by and was hard punished. I like the synth music that played toward the end and good job with the PS1 style graphics, they certainly do mesh well with the horror genre.
Freaking Samantha, all zombies are now Samanthas to me.
👏👏

Huge thanks for playing my game! And well done with the secret ending lol I was waiting for someone to finally mention it. Thanks again for your feedback!

Cool old school analog horror visuals and I really loved to use the gun. Maybe if the normal customers turn into monsters afterwards, with the schok value it might really give the "no trust" feeling. Overall definitely can be improved. Browser version lagged so much so I downloaded the game but there were multiple framedrops in the pc as well. Not sure why. I really enjoyed the game, would play again!

Thanks a lot for your feedback! Yes game stutters during the first few minutes and I am going to do more optimization on it. It is still WIP and I'll make sure to add much more content to it.

I also really loved the water just spawning as it is. This kind of things are unique and cool in my opinion. They create the inside jokes and build up characters as you develop it further. Some mistakes and simple tricks might later become an important part.

Mechanics, optimization and gameplay will improve eventually. Bugs are not important unless they break the game. So I advise focusing on the funny parts like the water, or the monsters looking silly in an analog horror. Good job!

Haha thanks! The water faucet was actually borrowed from an abandoned project of mine and was part of a puzzle. I really liked it since it was one of the first puzzle interactions I've coded with Godot so I decided to put that in this game and give it a little funny role! Anyway I appreciate your helpful review on the game, huge thanks!

This game was so creepy! I wasn't quite able to complete it, I'm guessing there was more in that room up the stairs but it was pitch black up there so I couldn't see what I was doing. I really like the retro aesthetic though. Nice job!

Developer

thanks for trying it out! you were like 2 minutes away from finishing it lol. and you had to press F to turn on flashlight.

Good atmosphere and fun gameplay. The wall of text in the beginning was a little confusing but I got it in the end.

Also I went back to see what happens when I let the first caller in and jumped when I got ambushed. That was kinda funny

Developer

Hahaha thanks so much for giving it a try!
