How does the game fit the theme?
We started with the idea of shooting the suspicious targets.

Then we ended up with a game where you shoot EVERYBODY. You can't trust anybody after all.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
All the shaders are copy pasted from godotshaders (xD)

sfx was supplied online.

How many people worked on the game?

it's really catchy and the visuals had a major improvement from the first time i tested it!!

Original "tape-taupe" shooter, the surprise-sniper is too violent for me but fits the theme ^^The gameplay works well, graphics are ok but I'd have enjoyed a bit more animation. The strongest point of your game for me is the music loop, it caught my attention in a gaming-tunnel-mood immediately !

Thanks for your reply!!!

Cheers ! Everyone should do that ;)

Not quite sure about how the theme was implemented but thats of course always open to interpretation in gamejam's. maybe adding a highscorel list would improve the replayability :)

Developer

noted. for sure next time we'll get around to figuring that one out.

and yes its not as tactical or slow as you'd imagine this theme should be. When the music came in, and the mechanics were first made it just didn't go in that direction T_T

Just shooting everyone is a great take on the trust no one theme. Maybe a bit radical, but great.
I really like the aesthetic. It took me some time to figure out I had to click right mouse to start aiming, so maybe that could be somewhere on the screen when you start the game, and then disappear again after you shoot.
Overall a fun experience.

thanks ;3

There's a minor technical issue here. By default, Windows browsers block local execution of these kinds of HTML files. While it plays perfectly fine directly on the Itch.io page, you can't just open the local Windows export without spinning up a local server and so on. If there's any chance we could replace the local Windows HTML export with an actual EXE file, that would be great.

Sure I'll make a windows exe!

all of the source code is here btw if thats an issue for you

The artwork is super lovely and the controls feel very smooth and responsive! A snappy target-practice game is simple, but simple works great for a jam.

I did have one burning question while playing: why is my mission to ruthlessly snipe anime women who are just minding their business, looking out of windows? At least the sniper itself appears to be a woman, so I guess... technically a game about feminism?

I loved the visuals and audio. The camera effect is amazing. I'd have loved to have something to avoid shooting at, like civilians for example.

Developer

yes definitely, if only we'd (It was my job xD) gotten around to it!
