Pretty cute game, killed the owl with 1 life.

the intro comic of getting your candy stolen and then a pow lesson in not trusting people is a great cold open, and telling matilda i'm fine only for her to announce i'm having delusions already made me laugh. proper zelda 1 energy nice job

Nice art style and feel to the game. Love the "boss" fight and interaction with villagers (the conversations fit into theme) and overall exploration. I just had an issue with the loop music, it seemed to clash with two audio files maybe.. and was kinda distracting. Overall liked the game very much.

Alex was really funny! I loved the sound design and the idea of the game. Great job!

Love the classic Game Boy vibes and the intro comic was such a cool touch!

Very fun game Enjoyed it sm

I like the little bit of adventurous exploration going on here. Collecting stars for power-ups and fighting the boss to get back to the sky was fun. Can’t trust the NPCs either because they lie and scam you. Good work on the design!

I loved the comic-style intro! The game was fun overall, and I really liked the owl boss fight. The theme didn’t come through as strongly for me, only with the candy-stealing story and the NPC offering immortality before wrecking me xD, but it was still a fun little adventure!

I could feel the personalities of the NPCs! The owl was a bit tough to beat though, I died there haha :D

Pretty fun little adventure, the setup with your candy getting stolen and then having to find the four stars was cute haha. The opening comic and all the weird NPCs gave it a lot of charm, even if the boomerang felt a bit wonky sometimes. Fits the trust thing in a funny way too, nice job :D

Okay... Wilson killed me, hahah. It's fun and reminded me of Zelda or Pokémon games. I don't know if it's an issue with the 2D tiles, but sometimes it looks like the ground is separating. Great game! :D

This just like playing Zelda 1 while going under anesthesia, and it's actually pretty good.

Love how cruel you're allowing yourselves to be here. The guy scamming you out of your boomerang at the very start of the game and preventing you from ever killing the own boss is downright evil.

Developer

It was actually suppose to be more evil but I ran out of time to add all of it! Thank you for playing my game!

Very silly game, enjoyed it.

The boomerang was a little off, sometimes would return fast to me, and other times, it would just circle around me and couldn't hit anything.

great job overall

It was really charming that you made an opening cut scene comic to introduce the player to your world.

Love the comic at the start. I like the boomeraing movement! I got into a fight with the immortality guy and died, then I spawned outside the fight and I think I got softlocked? I went to fight the owl but he was a bit hard for me to defeat too. I think adding more feedback for hits, or when I get damaged would be useful. Also a way to lock my sword direction without it facing just where I’m looking cause it’s hard to control. This was a very ambitous project for a solo dev, impressed you made such a large map and so many NPCs! Good job!

This was so fun to mess around!

Very cute little adventure. The boomerang is very satisfying to use once you learn how to keep it orbiting around yourself.

Nice game! Liked it.

Cute lil game! Had to cheese the owl to get by tho lol

Really fun adventure game, it's impressive that you managed to make this all by yourself! The graphics are decent and the gameplay and dialogue are both enjoyable. My only critique is that the music starts to feel very repetitive after you hear it for a while, especially there aren't really any other sound effects so it's the only thing you hear for the duration of the game.

Developer(+1)

Ya I kinda ran out of time to make sound effects. Thank you for playing my game!
