Happy to be your 20th rating! The UI/UX could use some work but once I figured it out, the game loop was quite enjoyable! I like being able to purchase a new map to start over, the progression was nice, but trying to see what the different stats did wasn't apparent to me. If you develop this further, I think you'd have something pretty solid. Nice entry!

Really interesting concept and I really appreciate the tutorial not many games have that. My only issue is that ALL THESE CHUDS don't want to fight the battle. Seriously though, Idk if im stupid but I bought a new zone, and a sniper enemy appeared AND NOBODY WANTED TO FIGHT HIM. So that zone was just worthless for awhile.
UI Idea: Have the characters stack, so theres not just a massive bar at the bottom with flooded characters. Idk if its easy but it was a bit hard to find the plI already bought.

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah i agree difficulty from hiring is something i'll adjust if i ever expand and i really like the stacking idea i didn't think of that!

Really needed a tutorial or hint system.

Developer

There is a tutorial! You choose to either play the endless mode or the scripted tutorial at the main menu.

Interesting idea! I think right now the trust system is a bit on rails since they fight or refuse, at which point you pick another hero. Maybe instead you could make it so you have to set them up in advance, then choose carefully such that you are trusting them not to run when the battle starts? In any case well done.

Thanks for the feedback! I'll consider your suggestion if i ever expand this although it would be extremly different.

Very cool concept, especially having unusual stats like greed, lazyness, emotion is creative and original! Some more polish on the UI and some of the gameplay would have been wonderful, but we can only do so much, with the time we had :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah i agree the UI was lacking and if i ever expand this i'll refine it for sure!

Solid concept, excellent design of multiple arenas! Could use with some polish re: information on hover, or moving the heroes roster around, but very good game!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah im not that good with UI and i agree its bit lacking, if i ever expand this i'll consider your suggestions!

Really enjoyed this. The concept was awesome, having multiple screens and fights and I liked that they would refuse. Fits the theme well as we cannot trust them. It might be nice that you add a suggested group to fight instead of dropping one in at a time so they can decide to fight, as weak ones would not be able to fight at all but if I had 3 of the green dudes they would be fine.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! If i ever expand this i will consider the group idea yeah its not easy if a fight is too difficult to get your units to go.

I wish that the heroes I could hire would be on a separate screen. Also, I got to the point where I had an arena that was too difficult and no one would go there, no matter who I hired. I would also have like it more if my heroes stayed in the arena.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah if i ever expand this your suggestions are considered, the UI was lacking and chaotic i agree.

So first things first: the interpretation of the theme was nice, the concept was nice but sadly I don't feel the execution was the best. I like the idea of hiring for the zones BUT I believe it would be better if we have some kind of real time visuals on why and what should justify each different hire for each different zone. Nonetheless, good job!!!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Realistically yeah you could just go with merchant only and be fine if i ever expand upon this i would consider improving the different hires differences.

Very interesting concept! I just wish the battle zone was bigger to be easier to see. And also, since you used Godot, it looks like you didnt set the texture filter to nearest, and thats why the pixel art was blurry (ignore this if that was intentional)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah i originally planned to have them movable and resizable but time got the better of me.

Also as for pixel art being blurry to be honest i didn't realize  and had no idea this was a thing thanks for suggesting that! the difference is something i'll consider now.

game is pretty fun but had idk if it was just for me i couldnt see the total gold i had maybe it was out of frame i had full screen on and i kept on bankrupting beacause i kept on buying new zones lol . concept was very good but felt a bit confusing small improvements in the ui could make it alot better

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! im not sure why you couldn't see total gold to be honest it works fine on my end and my friends. I agree the ui could get improvements.
