Really cool! I love it when games play themselves and you just reap the rewards and get upgrades! A simple concept, but highly replayable! The sound design is absolutely superb—stunning.

Love the overall visuals, its coherent and well thought, the gameplay is fun although im not a big fan of tower defense,

Overall great experience, loved playing ! great job!

I like that it gave the game a really interesting style and backstory. As a tower defence game, it is good. The concept for them sounds better on paper, and I think more could be done to explain why the sensor reading is inaccurate, especially early in the game before upgrades.

I've done it! Finished the game on second attempt! Great game, cool concept and nice take on the theme. Loved the upgrade system and sound design. Well done!

Since i was asked to give extensive feedback, imma try:

1. I LOVED the game, i was lowkey glued to the screen trying to figure out which upgrades are the best for my survival. I love the concept (maybe i am just biased cuz i love tower defence games). The gameplay itself is great, and the art also fitting. I am looking forward to seeing how this game will continue. but as said, here some nitpicks:

2. In the intro, while the woman is giving instructions, the writing text sound is always on the same pitch. so it's basicly a spam of the same sfx, i'd suggest doing a random pitch value, so it feels more natural and doesn't get annoying that fast

3. Generally, i feel like the intro was way longer then it could have been, i gotta be honest, i don't think i read basicly anything there xD, but nontheless everything i needed to know was the following, so amybe you can make the intro shorter or sth:

-> survive 30 days

-> send cargoships to get more food and power

-> buy upgrades to help you survive. these upgrades are in multiple categories and server specific purposes like survival, healing, power generation, food generation, fish protection

-> there will be incomming enemies from all sides, you can click on enemies to lock your gun and kill those first, or let the gun work automaticly and shoot the closest enemies to the center (i think it worked like that, idk). there are also special enemies,

-> big orange enemies: while alive they don't attack you, but rather your returning cargo ships, so letting them stay alive will decrease your income significantly

-> camuflage: these enemies look like your returning cargoships, but when close enough it's revealed that they are actually enemy ships. The spawning of these can also be prevented via an upgrade

4. when the price was more the 4 digits, it wraped onto the next line which looked qutre bad

sp yeah, hope the feedback helps, if you need help, more feedback or playtesting i would be happy to help. love it

(also i feel like i might be the moist detailed comment XD)

Developer

Thanks for the comprehensive review (definitely the most detailed one)! We're glad you spent time to get the gist of Sub Sonar and noted down all the key points. The onboarding/tutorial process will need to change for sure. Good catches on the bugs and the sfx pitch as well. We will fix them in our next update and hope that when it's done you can give it another try :)

I'd love to ;)
